**Kira's POV**

In only one night, one terrible, terrible night, things changed. My world came crumbling down. The people I thought I could lean on, those I loved and trusted, betrayed me.

I was torn as it felt like my entire existence was being sucked out of me. It felt like a thousand silver blades had been dug into my heart, clawing it out.

It hurt more than a million needles piercing into my skin but in my darkest moment I saw a ray of light. I saw hope, reminding me that there was still a lot left in life and out of those burnt out pieces of my life.

Out of those ashes, I emerged, greater and stronger than before. Out of the pain came a new me, a new me who was ready and willing to do anything to bring her enemies to her feet.

***

I gasped and sprung up from what I laid on and looked at my surroundings.

Things looked different and out of place, even I, I felt like I was at the wrong place and at the wrong time.

What was going on?

The last thing I remembered was my car losing control, falling off that cliff and onto the ground; thus shattering into pieces during the process.

There was no way I could have survived that fall because I could remember, vividly, how a broken piece of glass had pierced through my heart, bursting out at the other end.

I died, I am sure I died; but what was I still doing here?

Looking around, I realized that I was in my room, but I had left this room after graduation and gotten a better one. I paced around the room, confused and puzzled when my eyes made contact with the standing mirror.

“What!” I exclaimed.

I looked exactly the way I was when I was 18 years old. My hair was styled into a messy bun; the only hairstyle I still always had on, but every other thing had changed.

I had barely finished checking myself out when my phone rang. Grabbing it, I looked at the caller ID, and it was…Sophia!

I gnashed my teeth, unsure if I was supposed to pick it up or not. Sincerely, I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to have anything to do with her, seeing as she never wanted me alive in the first place.

But, why was she calling me anyway?

Curious to find answers, I answered the phone skeptically and had to quickly pull it away from my ears as her loud girlish screams sounded from it.

“Babeeeyy!” She screamed again.

“Huh?” I was confused.

“I'm so happy right now. Remember this cousin I’ve been telling you about, Chad? Well, he’s in the country now and wants to take us both out on a movie date!!” She exclaimed in a high pitched voice.

Wait…this felt familiar.

“We’re going to be watching the impossible, it'll be so much fun! I’ve gotten tickets!”

The impossible?

“Why aren't you saying a word, Kira? Don’t tell me you’re about to chicken out right now? Come on, he's not that difficult, he's just ,drop, drop dead gorgeous!” She teased

I stopped myself from yelling at her to leave me the fuck alone. I needed time for myself to think. This was too much to take in.

Playing along, I squealed; “Wow, okay then. thanks.” I tried to sound excited, but failed woefully.

“You were the one dying to see the guy, but it seems I'm more excited than you are,” She sighed. “Anyways, put on something nice. I'll be at your place by 7pm, so we can get to the cinema on time, your highness.” She chuckled and hung up.

“What is really going on?” I flung the phone on the bed and ruffled my hair.

Pacing round the room again, I rushed to my phone and noticed it was the phone I used when I was eighteen before I got another one. I switched it on and clicked on the calendar icon.

“3rd April!” I screamed when I checked the year and saw I was two years back in time.

Did I just travel back in time? What the hell am I doing two years back in time?

“3rd April, 3rd April…” I repeated, trying to remember something. And soon, I got it! The day we were supposed to watch The impossible, but the cinema caught fire and someone rescued me. I gasped. “The day I met Chad,” My gaze turned cold. That bastard!

I paused when everything began falling into place. Remembering my prayer when the car was about to fall off the cliff, I gasped when suddenly everything made sense to me. The moon goddess had given me a second chance. My heart leaped for joy at the realization, and I couldn't help but squeal excitedly.

Was this her way of bringing me back to take revenge?

In my past life, I have made countless mistakes. I was too naive and oblivious to the true intentions of the people around me. I had blessed them with love, given them my all, but this time is different . I knew better.

I would make sure that Sophia and Chad paid for all the pain they caused me, the betrayal… and even planning my death.

The thought of repaying them with their own coins sent an electric like sweet feeling down my spine and I giggled at the thought.

Naturally I knew I was supposed to cancel the movie date, knowing fully well that an accident was about to occur but I didn’t. I went on with the plan, and moreover I didn’t want to have to alter too many things in time.

When the time Struck seven, I heard my door flung open and I quickly flew in to engulf Sophia who strode in, in a warm embrace as that was exactly what I had done that day.

She kissed both of my cheeks and I giggled girlishly.

I couldn’t believe it! Couldn’t possibly Beebee’s that I had been taken back to two years ago.

Suddenly reliving this moment, I felt a sudden urge to slap to rub it in her face that I had seen the future and that I was back but I held my tongue. That would ruin all the fun and make my revenge less shocking,

“Let's go.” I walked out, picking up my Gucci handbag; and she followed closely behind me, irking me even further.

“Oh, I saw that loser on my way here... What’s his name again? Aiden!” Sophia said, chuckling. The mockery in her voice irritated me and I desperately wanted to slap it out of her.

Now that I think about it, Aiden was one of the most annoying guys I knew at the time. He had bullied me for a year or two and after that we’d become potential enemies.

“Where do you want to go ma'am?” My driver asked as soon as we jumped excitedly into the car.

“To the cinema.” I said to the driver. He quickly obeyed, revved the car to life and zoomed off.

“You aren't acting like your usual self, Kira . Are you okay?” Sophia asked, staring concernedly at me.

I rolled my eyes internally. “Yes, I'm fine.” I answered simply and looked away. I knew that worried look on her face was faux and I wanted to rub it off. In fact I didn’t want to be here with her after knowing what she wanted to do with me.

We got to the cinema just in time. After checking in the tickets, we took the front-row seat, waiting for the movie to start.

I knew when the place would catch fire, so I was determined to save myself before Aiden did, since he was the one who saved me that day. He had gone back to save Sophia when I met with Chad.

“10… 9… 8… 7…” I muttered under my breath. “6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1.” The moment one left my mouth, there were screams everywhere and there was a bright fire coming from the back room.

I used my eyes to weigh possible escape routes and sprung up. “Kira!” I could hear Sophia calling out my name, but I ignored her. I suddenly wished I had killed her off this day, but shrugged and bounced off towards an open door.

I was about to turn and head out when a sweet and tantalizing scent teased at my nostrils, making me halt.

Even though the stench of the smoke filled the whole place, I couldn't get that unique and amazing scent away from my nose. It was like a cup of steaming creamy cappuccino had been placed on my nose.

My wolf leaped in excitement, sending butterflies down my stomach. I wanted more of this scent that I didn't know when my legs moved on their own, looking for where the scent was coming from.

I got to a place and it got stronger. A door was pushed open and the person I didn't expect or wish to see rushed to me.

That moment, I felt like the ground should open and swallow me entirely.

My wolf suddenly whispered. “Our mate.”
