Chapter 10

I awoke to a great deal of commotion. I jumped to my feet and dashed down the stairs to find my brother shackled in the living room.

"Scott!" I screamed and dashed towards him. Two strong arms wrapped around me and yanked me away before I could reach him. "Let go!"

"No, princess," Gary laughed as Jason approached my brother, knife in hand. "If I let go, you'd touch him and activate your full powers."

"Jason, take a look at me!" I yelled, tears streaming down my cheeks. As I pleaded, he turned to face me. "If you ever cared about me, Jason, don't do this. Instead, murder me!"

"Do it, Jason!" Gary snapped as Jason's eyes welled up with remorse. I reached out, hoping to touch my brother. Only the prophecy and such strength could save him, I reasoned. I kicked Gary's leg as hard as I could. His grip loosened slightly as he grunted. As he threw me to the floor, I elbowed him in the stomach. I scrambled across the floor, trying to find my brother.
