Chapter 7- Ben's life.

“Hey! So finally, you regained your consciousness. Thank God! I had been trying for hours to apply all the medical knowledge I have to you, but you seemed to be in a critical condition. I was worried, and I had put my entire medical team to work.” Estella exclaimed in relief.

“How did I get saved, Estella? That heavy truck had almost crushed my car and knocked me down. There was no chance of getting saved. How did you come to know of the accident? Who brought me here?” I asked her, really puzzled.

Even I have no idea, Anne. I received a call from your phone. It was a male voice, but without any introduction, he just informed me about the accident and asked me to send an ambulance urgently to the location of the phone. After having said this, he just hung up.

“Oh! It might be that some stranger saved my life. I will be grateful to that person anyway, whoever he is! But how did he know that you are my friend and that you are also a doctor?” I asked her, surprised.

It is possible that he was a stranger, Anne, but you know that I found something strange. Your reports show that you were deeply wounded and injured, that you were bleeding profusely, and that you have really lost your blood, but then there were hardly any marks visible on your body. It was just that you were unconscious.” She exclaimed.

Scene at Ben’s home:

What is the matter, Ben? You look tense and frustrated. asked Ben’s mom worriedly.

“Oh! It is nothing, Mom; you are mistaken.” Ben said, trying to avoid her question.

“I am your mother, and so you should know that in so many years, it is very difficult to lie to me. Your expressions are enough for me to understand your feelings, my child! You should share with me your feelings. It will make you feel better. And perhaps I can suggest the solution to your problem.” She tried to explain.

“Mom, it’s just that I have found my mate, but then she is a human. I don’t want to be in a relationship with her because I fear that our situation might become the same as that of you and Dad! I have had to live separately from my dad since the time I was born. It is so painful, Mom. That is the reason that I am simply trying to ignore her feelings towards me, almost breaking her heart. But doing that is equally painful.” Ben tried to explain his situation.

"Congratulations, my son! I am so happy to hear that you have found your mate. I am craving to meet her. Just because me and your dad got separated doesn’t mean that you will face the same situation, Ben. I have raised you up in such a manner that you are prepared to face adverse situations in your life.” Said her mother in pride.

"No, Mom, I am afraid this time. I don’t want to give her the same pain that you suffered. When she discovers that I am half human and half vampire, she will be shattered. I don’t want my child to develop the same hatred that I have for my father.” Ben stated it with a heavy heart.

“Your father still loves you, Ben. It was just that his love for the throne overweighed his love for his son. He was threatened by the vampires that he would be dethroned if he continued to stay with us because they wanted only pure vampires to be in the royal family. Unfortunately, your father lacked the guts required to prove himself right before the other vampires, and he succumbed to their threat.” Ben’s mother revealed the truth to him.

“Is it Mom? Does he still love me? Will I get my father’s love at any point in my life? I have been craving it for years.” Ben asked as tears rolled down his cheeks.

“My inner subconscious says that you will get all the love that you deserve when the time is right. At times, we are put through several unendurable tests. But once we succeed in coming out of it, we are rewarded. You, too, will be rewarded for your patience, Ben. I have seen that love in his eyes for his son. He used to visit occasionally when you were too young, and his eyes explained his love for you. But he felt helpless.” Ben’s mother became emotional as she said these to him.

It was already 11.59 p.m., and Ben started craving his daily dose of blood. Suddenly, he is deprived of all his emotions. He is in his complete vampire form now and somehow wants to consume some blood. He leaves his mother crying and walks out of his house. He goes to the small hut that he owns on the hilltop, where he has reserved several bottles of blood in a refrigerator. He takes out one of the bottles and slurps it in one breath. He then sleeps off like a normal human being, as if nothing has happened. He has arranged all the basic amenities in his small but beautiful hut. He always had it in his mind to bring his beloved mate to this beautiful hut in the garden when he found her out.

The next morning, he is back home and seems to have forgotten everything about last night.

“I would be glad if you brought my soon-to-be daughter-in-law over here. You should abandon all your negative thoughts and move ahead in life, Ben. Things that are bound to happen will happen no matter how much you try to avoid them, Ben. That is what destiny is. Stop behaving rudely toward her. My heart says that she will prove to be lucky for you.” Ben’s mother instructed him.

“She has already been lucky for me, Mom; I have received the ‘Employee of the Year Award'. I forgot it in my car itself. On my way back from the office yesterday, I saw that Anne was in danger, and so I saved her from an accident.” He finally revealed it to his mom.

“You received such an honor, and you hid it from me? You should have told me yesterday itself, Ben.” She complained. “You have made me so proud, my son. I feel that my years of sacrifice and hard work have finally paid off." She expresses her joy.

“I hurt her mom; I tried to keep away from her, and so I danced with another girl. I know that she got hurt, and so she boozed so much that she was about to be crushed by a truck as she was driving while she was intoxicated.” Ben said it regretfully.

“I don’t want to hear anything from you, Ben. You have done wrong, so go and say sorry to her. If she pardons you, then only dare to show your face again. Next time you are here, I want to hear the news that you have already married her." she said it angrily to Ben.

“But I cannot build my relationship based on a lie. I need to disclose the truth to her, mom. Do you think she will agree to marry me after knowing the truth about me? I might even lose my job as an MD," asked Ben.

“If she has true love for you, then she will accept you as you are, Ben; otherwise, there is no point in carrying on the relationship further.” His mother stated,

Ben nodded and just left the place with new vigor and energy. He was determined now to gain Anne’s love at any cost, but only after revealing the truth.
