Meeting the Luna

He followed Evelyn to the pack, it suffices to say all eyes were on them, regardless of the fact he was dirty, what got their attention most was that they can't smell him. Evelyn knew it won't be long before her dad comes. She wondered what her father's reaction would be, she pushed the thought to the back of her mind as she couldn't guess what his reaction would be. Her father has always been kind to her but she knew this time around she wouldn't expect kindness.

"Come inside," She said to Blake, he looked scared. What has he gone through, Evelyn wondered? Unlike her that have known a world of roses, Blake had only seen the ugliness of the world since he was born.

"What do we have here?" Evelyn ever so lovely mom asked. She could see the pity in her eyes and it made Evelyn calm. If her mother gave such a soft stare to Blake, maybe dad won't be so bad, she thought.

"Mom this is Blake" she introduced him

"Good day Luna" he greeted. Evelyn was surprised about his greeting, he instantly knew her mother was the Luna. Though people mostly recognize Alpha because of their powerful aura, and you can recognize a Luna by smelling his Alpha mate on her, that is only possible if you have seen the Alpha first. Blake easily recognized Luna even when he is yet to meet the Alpha. This made Evelyn wonder if she had made the wrong decision and if Blake was perhaps a spy

"How did you know?" She asked

"I have heightened sense" he answered nonchalantly. Evelyn had very small knowledge of Latent since they are considered a legend even, but with her small knowledge she knew they are weak and inferior to wolves, they are closer to humans than wolves. So, if he was indeed latent, how could his senses surpass a wolf. A lot of things about Blake were mysterious but Evelyn figured she wouldn't be able to get the answer no matter how much she thought about it.

"If you're done giving your friend a suspicious look can you go freshen up and also show him where to bath as I make him something to eat." Luna saw the suspicious look Evelyn was giving Blake and wondered if she was that suspicious of him why did she bother bringing him home with her. 

"Come with me," She showed him to the guest room and he went in, everything he needed was already in there. 

"So mom," she called as she sat on the counter. She gazed at her mom, waiting for her questions. 

"Where did you find him." 

"I saw him in the forest, I was out on a run, after running I saw him looking scared and helpless. So, I had no other choice but to bring him home, hope I did the right thing?" 

"Yea dear you did" She felt relieved with her mother's assurance, now it remained her father's. Not long after blame came out looking all neat, he wore a black T-shirt and black trousers. He is really a handsome guy, Evelyn thought. Blake was skinny because of lack of food and constantly on the run to avoid rogues or packs, he never had a moment of peace, and even know this calm Evelyn was showing him, he knew it was just for a while so he couldn't let his guard down.

"Thanks for the hospitality," he said as he clamps his hand together. 

"Come eat," Luna said and he walked to the table, he still looked shy, and Evelyn thought it was cute. All this while he had not met her eyes. 

"Thanks," he said as he demolished the food, either he had a super appetite or he was super hungry, these were the thought of Evelyn. Blake who had lived on the edge all his life always knew to take the opportunity when it arrives. He never knows when next he would see such food.

"So where are you from Blake?" asked Luna, though he already told Evelyn, she still wanted him to say it with his mouth. Maybe he would make a mistake and I would be able to see a loop and know if he lied or was a spy. These thoughts ran through Evelyn's head. He told her mother the same story he told Evelyn, Luna's pity amplified. All of a sudden his eye widened and he ran behind Evelyn. The action caught the mother and daughter by surprise and Evelyn was forced to ask

"What?"

"You will see" Evelyn got confused and so did her mom. Evelyn turned to her mom who also had confusion written on her face, it only lasted for a while and her face brightened as her cheeks loosened.

"Your sense is really heightened," she said, then the Alpha came in. Blake sensed him before the Luna or Evelyn and it made Evelyn more confused. How heightened was his sense to even be above the Luna? What Evelyn didn't know was the fact that Blake sensed the Alpha before the Alpha sensed any of them. Since he is Latent it is difficult to pick up his scent and that has helped him on multiple occasions. He always smells the rogues' miles away and it gives him enough time to run away or hide deeply, but today he had no other place to hide apart from the back of Evelyn. She looked at him and her heart swelled with the fact that the broken boy saw her as a strong person and a refuge. She never had friends despite her being the Jewel of the pack but seeing Blake behind her gave a sense of friendship and it warmed her heart. Alpha glared at Blake and he gulped. Alpha noticed how raw the fear was and his fear of him being a spy was diminished for no one can pretend such fear, but that doesn't mean he should let his guard down.
