Gwenn pov.
“Why Gwenn, I would be a thousand times better than him for you.” Sorens tortured voice was the first thing that greeted me as I came into the empty courtyard which was void of every person except Sorens.
The light spring which I was walking with turned to me dragging my feet, slow to approach Sorens who was sharpening his sword. Something which was already bloody sharp.
It didn’t matter if I dragged my feet or not, Sorens knew it was me and although his head was still facing his sword, I knew he was very aware of every step I made.
“I love you Gwenn with everything and he just decides to pay you attent…” Sorens started.
“Enough Sorens.” I stated firmly while Sorens raised his head to look at me, his eyes were red and he looked exactly how his voice sounds. “Let’s stop this here.” I plead.
“Feelings don’t work like th
“So you and Yama…” Sorens said as he sat beside me the next morning on the table. “I never expected to see it since it has not been long that you were hitting him on the face and he was giving other woman the heir to his throne. Those are things that you women don’t forgive easily. I think you forgive because you are a commander. Heavens know that female commanders are strange.” He concluded just around the same time I concluded that this was not Sorens.“Sorian, what do I owe this honor to?” I asked wryly.“I should be asking that question since I am the one who is gracing the table with the beautiful Alal of the Northshore Empire, you are looking really radiant, how many rounds?” Sorian returned.“I am wondering what your mother did to you and your mouth when you were younger.” I mused out loud as he started laughing, just as Arius entered with his brother.
Arius PovI was happy with Gwenn, deliriously so that I couldn’t help but feel guilt that I didn’t even mourn for Faye, neither did I feel for Sorens who was ahead of me in recognizing what a gem I have as a wife. I was still thankful that she was my l=wife when she met Sorens if not, he would have been the one being happy right now and I would be repeating the mistakes of my predecessors by having multiple women who would do nothing but poison each other and make my home a battlefield. One woman solved everything, I almost made that mistake with having two women but fate through a means I didn’t like, corrected my error and I don’t make the same mistake twice. And that is why the Mareikura in front of me needed to go.“Tell me, are you married?” I asked her as she brushed against me for the umpteenth time.“No, My Yama. My whole being is free to serve you in any means you require.&r
“What am I hearing?” I snapped as the man tried to stand, when I saw his face, I realized that he was Isolde’s father.“Yama…” He started crying as the people who were holding him, let go of him and with his loud sobbing as the only sound filling the room, he crawled to me.“My daughter. Gone.” He added.I raised my head to look at my queen who had tears in her eyes even though her expression was pinched as if she was angry.“What happened?” I asked the man who cried as he narrated everything to me, after he did, I was silent as my rage grew, this was getting out of hand and certainly a huge blow to the empire at large. A whole legion dying like that.“See to his needs.” Gwenn ordered and then she took my hand and led me to the throne where she forced me to sit down. Me sitting down just made it more pronounced, the weight on my shoulders.
Gwenn PovYesterday was the first night in a long time that I didn’t sleep in the same room with Arius but it was understandable because yesterday was busy for the both of us. He was busy with planning and the rest and when it got to sleeping time, he sent me on my way to bed since he decided that he was not going to go to bed until he was done with the preparation with his council. After he had forced me to leave, I went to my room and search through the golden queen journals, I didn’t have enough time to read everything but what I did read was that something like this had happened before and although I didn’t get majority of her writing but I had enough to make the scroll which told majority of the story and another problem of mine was that it was told from her perspective and she didn’t view it as much trouble, she was more concerned about a council member who was ‘tainting’ everybody.I slept with mixed message and incomple
The minute I came out of Arius room to think of a plan, something that was going to help me keep my senses with me, I was tackled by reality.Arius is a king and he has duties, duties I am automatically in charge of.“Alal, there are issues that needs your attention.” Gogan started.“Can it wait?” I snapped at him, all I wanted was to be in my room and search through the golden queen account of her time, I didn’t care that she might not have experienced something like this in her time, what I was concerned with is that she better has solution for it. Either in her scrolls or in a trance, she has no problem putting me in one so she can speak to me, she better be ready because if I can’t see anything in her writing, I will invoke her, I might not have an idea how to do that right now but I will know every soon.“I am sorry my Queen but it can’t, rumors are already spreading around
“I will be going on a journey starting tonight.” I announced in the throne room, where all of us where having our breakfast, the council, the commanders, the royal family and even Silana chose to be present which was a good thing because I didn’t want to tell her separately. I didn’t have the time to go around looking for her.Just as I expected the room exploded into a canopy of complaints. I waited it out as they all talked at the same time, all saying the same thing in different words about why it was a bad choice.“You want to run away with your lover while you have succeeded in poisoning my brother.” Catia yelled and that is what I heard. I leaned towards her as my eyes flashed golden.“If I were you I would be very careful of words that come out of your mouth because your brother is not here to stop me from hurting you. I did not poison my husband and anybody who suggest that anymore to my face will see
Kastav povI didn’t know what that bitch was up to but I was not chanced to find out too, since she left, I had been trying to find ways to see the council and talk to them about them following this stupid edict of hers but they have been locked up with the foreign warlord who had always treated me like I was unimportant. They were busy with governing and that was supposed to be me there, talking and plotting and making plans to take Northshore into greater heights.I did not remove Arius from his post just for a foreigner to be seated comfortably at the king’s seat. I was not going to take this for much longer, no. They have no right to lock me out.I strode to the council hall and as usual the guards stopped me but this time, I was not adverse as to pushing them out of the way with an invisible force. A little bit of the entity was in that push but I couldn’t care less. I was angry and the council will feel my w
Gwenn pov“Alal, time is of the essence, I know that but you have to help these people, they are your people. Doing well will cement your reign, you know that.” Silana suggested as I watched as giant rocks fell from the top of the cave to cover the mouth of it.I couldn’t help stopping in every town on our way, to help the people in the settlements with few of their problems. Almost every town had some issue or another. One had a well that had dried up and the villagers thirst was increasing, I helped with getting the well flowing again by channeling a river to it … I didn’t even know all the intricacies of what I did but I knew that I made the villagers life better. This people problem was more on the side of the unnatural, one of those whom I think, I might have awakened. A beast comes out of this cave at night and eat the food crops of the villagers, no matter where they are hidden. The logical thing to do afte
