Chapter Thirteen

Diego stands alone in the compound, staring at Joaquín Muñoz, the rogue Alpha who has questioned his authority. It's very quiet. The air is thick with tension, and every breath feels heavy, like Diego is carrying the whole pack on his back. Joaquín, a strong and unyielding Alpha with eyes that burn with anger, steps forward and his voice cuts through the thick air.

"Diego, you've let this pack down," Joaquín growls, his voice full of anger. "You are weak." Your love for a woman has made you blind and unable to lead. "I don't think you should be the Alpha."
