Chapter Five

One day, Jan Jay was going around the castle suddenly, he caught Jan Wilson romancing with his daughter at one angel in the castle.

Seeing the sight of Robert Mallow, he quickly stopped then he notified Jan Wilson. Both of them quickly bow to please Jan Jay.

Immediately, Jan Jay ordered his soldiers to arrest Robert Mallow. He was arrested and he was kept inside the prison.

After two weeks in the prison, Jan Jay called his soldiers to bring Robert Mallow.

"You have to save yourself," said Jan Jay. Jan Jay gave him a dead mission, he was appointed to kill a dragon that was terrorising their state every year.

Jan Wilson was pleased with her father when he showed mercy on him, but instead, he ordered the soldiers to put him inside the prison.

Many years ago, there was a giant dragon that was always terrorising their state. The dragon stood taller than the largest cathedral City, and it was covered with thick black scales.

Its red eyes glowed with hate, and from its terrible jaws flowed an incessant stream of evil-smelling yellowish-green slime.

It demanded human being's blood to satisfy its enormous appetite. Fifty men and women have to be delivered every year to the mountain where the dragon lives.

"I will bring its head to you!" Said Robert Mallow.

At night Robert Mallow took his sword deep into the forest and hacked this handoff imaginary dragons.

He began to practice how he will fight with the dragon. Suddenly, he heard the footsteps of someone. He looked back to search for the person, at last, it was Jan Wilson.

He moved closer to her and they started discussing. Jan Wilson was so scared and was confused if Robert Mallow will be back or not, Robert Mallow promised her to return safely.

The next day, Robert Mallow went to the castle to inform him of the existence of o the dragon.

He bowed before him and said, "Jan Jay, the Lord of the Jingle. I am here to inform you that I am ready to battle the dragon and once I am back I want you to let me marry your daughter."

"Fine with me!" said Jan Jay with the hope that he would never return.

As Robert Mallow was going, one of the soldiers of the castle called him, he told him all about the battle with the dragon.

The stories sounded as if the soldier was bragging but Robert Mallow didn't mind because he loved to hear them. Robert Mallow was given a grey horse, a sword, a Lance and armour that covered his body.

Robert Mallow started his journey, after two days, he rode to the mountain where the dragon lived.

When he reached the mouth of the cave, he turned and looked down but he found nothing. He looked down the mountain but there was no one to wave to.

He shivered with fear but he said to himself, "I'm a legend I must kill the dragon if I don't who will do it!"

He lifted his Lance, spurred his horse into the cave and pulled it to a dead tree. There before him, loomed the dragon.

The dragon was ten times taller than him, it's scales were platinum and thought of as tabletops.

Magenta flame, tinged with white, licked from its mouth and nostrils. It glared at Robert Mallow with green glowing eyes.

"I'm ready," snarled the dragon.

Robert Mallow gave another yell and spurred his horse straight at the dragon's, then he rode and went straight on the dragon's belly and struck his lance.

But the dragon's belly was covered by the thick scales and Robert Mallow lace snapped in two. The dragon's laugh echoed through the cave.

Robert Mallow put down the broken Lance and took out his sword. He spurred his horse again and circled the dragon.

He started hitting the dragon with his sword on the dragon's scales as he rode round and round, but it was no use, his sword only used uselessly.

Suddenly, the dragon swang its paw at Robert Mallow. It knocked him off his horse and cleared across the cave. His armour clattered as he landed on his back.

He lied there holding his sword. He was too staggered to move. Suddenly, he heard the terrible roar of the dragon. He watched the dragon opening its mouth.

He Saw the white tinged magenta flame shooting out at it. He stepped a little backward and stood startled as he held his sword tight.

The dragon roared with anger and fire started coming from its mouth. Robert Mallow held his armour tightly as the dragon started pouring the fire.

After a few minutes, the dragon stopped pouring the fire and Robert Mallow fell. Unexpectedly, the dragon rose and started chasing him. Robert Mallow hurriedly rose and sat on his horse then he began to ride.

The dragon kept chasing till they got to the top of the mountain. Robert Mallow jumped down from his horse and landed on the dragon's head.

He started hitting the dragon till the dragon became weak. Then the dragon started pouring fire and began to run in the state. (Everyone in the state [people of Jingle] came out to watch the battle between them).

The dragon kept running till they reached the top of the castle. Robert Mallow trickled his sword at the dragon's head and his head fell at the front of the castle.

Rover Mallow got down and everyone hailed him. He was welcomed with dance and happiness.
