Chapter 7

Maya

I wet the paper under the water and then I put it on my hair, eliminating traces of Axel’s regurgitation.

Thank you very much, now my dress is ruined, the beautiful hairstyle made by Lucas is completely gone and I smell of vomit.

I came out of the bathroom and went back into Jess’s old room, finding her lying on the bed on her stomach while kissing Axel’s bare stomach.

I undressed him to change him, and as I put his diaper back on, Jess came into the room and offered to dress him up again while I cleaned up my vomit.

\"You still smell like vomit.\" said Jess as she leaned over Axel again and gave him another kiss on his tummy making him laugh.

\"Thank you so much, Miss Perfection.\" I said while I was still trying to clean the vomit stain on the dress.

\"You never complained about your patients\' puke.\" Jess said, kneeling on the bed and putting Axel up.

\"One thing is when they vomit on a lab coat, another is when they vomit on a dress that cost you an eye of the head,\" I said sitting on the edge of the bed and watching Axel happily jump on the bed wearing only a small diaper.

Axel laughed like a madman and enjoyed every ounce of attention from Jess, needless to say, he had a huge adoration for my friend, so much so that he tried to attract her attention in any way possible.

\"It’s a weapon against any suitor.\" Jess said as she started making funny faces, \"Did you see how he screamed every time a man approached you?\" she laughed, \"He’s like a policeman, the moment someone approaches, he attacks the sirens.\"

\"Oh yes I noticed. He was marking his territory with anyone.\" I said, throwing the paper in the bucket.

\"What did Nate say to you?\" Jess suddenly asked.

\"No big deal, he asked me how I was and blah blah blah.\" I said frowning.

\"Didn’t he ask you anything else?\" Jess insisted.

\"No. Axel asked for his attention and then threw up on him. You should have seen the satisfied face he made after throwing up.\" I said, looking at Axel.

I could swear he winked at me.

\"Elimination of a potential suitor complete.\" Jess said, kissing him.

\"Suitor?\" I asked confused, \"Nate? Your brother Nate?\"

\"Oh yes, don’t go near him, he has the great ability to get every woman to open her legs for him, I lost two bridesmaids because of him.\" said Jess.

\"Call Lucas, you know his dream is to be a bridesmaid.\" I said, taking Axel’s clothes and starting to dress him.

\"Oh no, Lucas doesn’t have any access to my fancy dress, he didn’t even see them, I don’t want to fight with him because of the color I chose.\" said my friend Axel.

\"Jess, it’s a week away and you have no bridesmaids and no ideas.\" I said, putting on Axel’s pants.

\"But you’re here, you’re going to be my bridesmaid, do you remember that tomorrow you have the appointment in the tailoring to try on the dress? Martha didn’t have your boobs and they’re definitely going to have to reset the top part.\" Jess said.

\"Only and only if Lucas is the other bridesmaid.\" I said, putting on his shirt, while my child was watching both of us with interest in his eyes as if he was understanding what we’d been saying.

\"Maya Jo Sheppar! Are you blackmailing me?\" she screamed.

\"Yes, of course.\" I said in all honesty.

\"I hate you!\" Jess said, limping.

\"You love me.\" I said, laying Axel on the bed.

\"I love you so much that I strongly advise you to stay miles away from my brother.\" Jess said when she got serious.

\"Why do you say that?\" I asked, pretending.

\"Why? You ask me why?!\" she scream like an exhausted, \"Maya Jo Sheppar, do you forget that we grew up together? That I saw you drooling after my brother for years? You gave him your son! You don’t leave him with anyone!\" she screamed again as Axel kicked and laughed amused.

\"It’s not true! I’ll leave it with you! Even with Lucas!\" I defended myself immediately.

\"Looking at us as if we let him fall at any moment\" Lucas intervened resting on the doorjamb and crossing his arms to the chest.

\"Where the hell did you come from?\" I asked.

\"How long have you been here?\" Jess asked at the same time.

\"Enough to feel that you don’t want me as a bridesmaid! I call that treason. Please tell me you didn’t choose the peach color.\" Lucas said as he approached the bed.

\"Oh shut up Lucas is not the time.\" Jess warned him, pointing a finger at him, \"The important thing here is May May, and her legs closed, sealed for my brother.\" she pointed her finger at me.

\"Oh please Jess! I have a three-month-old baby I don’t think about having anyone between my legs!\" I answered while Axel yawned.

\"Oh please May! You were all hearty eyes and smiles! If it wasn’t for your son in the middle, you’d have stripped in front of everyone and invited him to favor those damn boobs of yours!\" Lucas answered the question.

I opened my mouth wide in surprise and looked at him.
