"I WANT A DIVORCE"

The cold words of Lucian left his lips. There was no hesitation of any sort as he spoke neither was there a smile on his face.

His words were bold.

Direct. And simple.

"What?..."

My voice cracked as I stared upon his reflection on the bold screen of the laptop.

It's been two months since I last laid eyes on him and when I finally caught a glimpse of him, he dropped this.

His words were like a bomb.

Shattering and destructive sending my calm composure into a turmoil but even then, there was no sympathy for me in his eyes.

Almost like he had closed his heart out to me leaving me in the cold.

But his next words broke down the little composure I managed to keep.

"She's back. Sign the papers and leave"

Was all he said.

His tall frame seen as he stood  straightening out his suite.

The 'she' in question was none other than Chloe Wells.

The only daughter of her deceased parents and Lucian's ex lover.

Sure Lucian had married me on the basis of his parents pressure to get a woman fo himself but in the past three years we had been together, he never loved me.

He never looked my way the only exception being the time he had drowned himself in alcohol.

But there were times when I felt he was changing for the better.

It was weird at first with his sudden change but I liked it.

I liked it to the extent I wished it would be just like that forever.

But I should have known all good things were sure to end.

And mine quickly ended when Chloe returned.

She was said to be in an accident but her body was never found.

Now years later, she's here.

And he left me for her!

This revelation hurt like hot coal being pressed on to the skin.

"Please Lucian. Don't leave me" I cried out with everything in me.

Silence reigned in the air.

But when his voice sounded in my ears, it broke me.

"I hate you Clarissa" he sounded pulling my hands away and pushing me aside watching as I stumbled backwards.

"You disgust me. Now you're free to be with your lover"

His eyes was cold as he spoke daring me not to come close but still I did.

"Lucian please. I have no one but you.

But you said you could love me!" I shouted above my voice.

The sad truth was heavily hitting me and it punctured a very fragile organ of mine.

My heart.

"Well now you know. Sign it and don't make a fuss"

"You're betraying me Lucian" at this point I broke down into complete tears. My body shuddered as I cried out in front of Jarry, his assistant.

Everything in me was praying for Lucian to take back his words.

"You betrayed me first"

"I did nothing. I swear it. The picture of me and that man was fake"

"Save it. I don't want to hear of it.

Even if it's fake, I don't want to have anything to do with you"

"Is it because of her?" I asked admits my sobs.

"Yes" he responded. And there goes my hope.

Gone to the drain and buried six foot deep.

"And what of our child. What will happen?" My hands reached for my stomach hoping that my pregnancy could be the thread that would make him stay but his statement hit me like a bomb.

"He'll be raised and will know Chloe as his mother"

With that the call got disconnected.

My legs gave way to the floor, my tears rolling down my cheeks.

I was living a lie all along.

The man I thought stood by me and protected me was the one to cast me aside.

I gave him my love, my life and everything else but he was quick to discard me and for what, for her!

I was eight months pregnant with Lucian's child and he didn't give a care in the world of what will happen to me.

I guess Chloe's return was the most important thing to him at the moment.

Jarry, Lucian's assistant stepped forward closing the laptop, his gaze travelled to me.

"Ma'am... Please be careful. You are carrying the master's child.

You don't need to stress yourself now" he said trying to raise me from the ground but I flung his hands away.

A timer from his wrist watch beeped making a sigh to leave his lips.

"Madam, I have to get going. Please sign the papers.

The boss can't get married if you haven't applied your signature to it"

Now his words were quick to catch my attention and swiftly, my teary gaze turned to him.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked. Seeing the way he inadvertently focused his gaze away from me made me all the more suspicion.

"What are you talking about? Answer me!" I demanded authoritatively that made Jarry to be frightened.

His lips moved and his words were quick to spill unleashing the eminent truth that was with held from me.

"Sir Lucian is getting married to Miss Chloe Tonight" he announced.

With my lips ajar and my mind dumbfounded, I stared at Jarry for good long moments without speaking.

Apparently, my mind seemed to be slow in taking in this new piece of information.

So that's why he wanted a divorce so bad.

 The news was so sudden.

With the beeping noise coming from Jarry, he shook his head helplessly before saying.

"Madam, there's somewhere I need to be. Please sign the papers, I'll come back for it" he said before rushing out the door.

Mrs Clarissa"

The voice of Bruno sounded behind me.

He had approached me trying to get me up when his eyes came in contact with my wrist.

"You're hurting yourself...." he spoke making me look down at my palm where blood could be seen seeping out of the punctured area.

I hadn't realized how tightly I was holding the glass cup to the extent it broke in my palm.

My hands inadvertently went to cover up the bruised area.

Bruno on seeing this was quick to hand over the handkerchief to me to which I used it to wrap around my wrist.

My blood staining the piece of clothing red.

It wasn't the first time that such had happened.

I ended up hurting myself but I felt no pain.

A laugh of pity erupted from my lips.

I pitied myself because not only was I abandoned, I was slowly losing it.

Bruno had suggested seeing a therapist but I couldn't.

The last thing I wanted was for someone to think I was crazy.

I was loosing it.

Bruno was no relation of mine, he was simply someone hired by Lucian to take care of me but ended up taking care of me like I was his sister.

My tired body slowly got up from the ground heading towards the bed room where I trashed down everything.

Sounds of things falling to the floor, glasses crashing down and things breaking apart was heard.

Stripping myself naked and standing bare in front of the mirror, I took a long look at my self.

Tears sliding down my pale cheeks.

With my gaze stuck to the mirror, I finally realized why Lucian sometimes couldn't stop admiring my face.

The side of my face to be precise.

It was because I had a slight resemblance to Chloe.

The first day I laid her eyes on Chloe, I had thought it was a mere coincidence that we looked alike.

But now I knew better, he married me for my looks and nothing more.

This revelation hurt like hot coal being pressed on to the skin.

My protruding stomach was visible from the silvery surface of the mirror and clearly in a month time, I'll soon give birth.

With the gender unknown, I had always wished it was a boy but right now... What did it matter.

Just three months ago I was struck with a dilemma of proving myself innocent when pictures of a woman which looked a lot like me sat seductively on the man's laps leaning in for a kiss spread like wild fire.

But for a fact that wasn't true!

It wasn't me and never have I met the man in the picture not to talk more of cheating on my husband.

I loved him too much and wouldn't dare to hurt him like that.

Unfortunately, no one believed me not even him.

I proceeded to the bathroom where I let the water drench my body as a whole.

For almost an hour I stood under the shower reasoning the incident that had played in these past months.

With me being framed for sleeping around with men to when Chloe suddenly appeared into Lucian's life to me being thrown a divorce papers to the face.

Everything seemed like...

A set up. A plan orchestrated to get me out of the picture.

And the only person that I had in mind to plan such was LUCIAN.

Besides, his love was back.

He didn't need me.

He didn't want me.

So he dumped me.

Anger boiled within me, my fingers went to dig itself deep in my palm causing blood to seep out from that area.

I wasn't going to let them live happily.

Besides, how could they have a wedding without a bride!

Quickly I stepped out of the shower and called for Bruno.

I was going to the wedding venue but not before stopping by to get a wedding gown.

I didn't have time to pick as she just needed any gown that would fit my size.

In no time, I reached the venue which was beautifully decorated to suite the theme.

The internal decor was beautiful almost making me want to shed a tear.

Everything was set and the people sat in their places.

I had arrived right on time because I could hear the orchestra playing the wedding tones.

Even when Bruno tried to stop my actions, I proceeded to pulling the doors open and stepping in.

Up on the altar, there I found Lucian to be happily smiling as he watched me approach him.

How I hated his smile right now.

Lucian's aura could be felt as I came to stand beside him, I gazed at him through my veil.

"You look.... Different" he said perhaps on noticing the bulge from my gown.

"Are you happy right now?" I asked trying my possible best to hide the pain in my voice which proved futile.

My tears were now slipping down my eyes and Lucian could hear me sob.

"Chloe..."

Before he could finish his sentence, the veil got lifted from my face and the fruit knife I had hidden in my bouquet finally appeared.

It's sharp edge pointing at him

"I WISH YOU HELL!" I shouted before plunging the knife deep into his chest.

A loud gasp erupted from the lips of everyone.

Lucian's face was masked with pain as I stabbed him.

But in that moment, something awful happened.

My water broke!!!

Nothing's wrong.I guess mummy is just stressed out" I shrugged rubbing her head as I placed a smile to my face extinguishing the worry in her eyes.Stepping in front of me, William stunned me with his actions when he slightly bent down placing a soft gentle kiss on my forehead."I know what you're worried about.
