“What a splendid party!” Amora’s loud voice rang out from the far end of the guests’ line facing the podium.

The hall was decorated with pink balloons, filled with guests—children and adults alike. Amora’s eyes fell on her husband, Vicktor, hosting a birthday celebration. What cut even deeper was recognizing the woman in the ivory-white gown standing by his side. That woman was Lucy—her own friend.

Driving her car, Amora had secretly followed Vicktor Caldwell, her husband, after she discovered a check, proof of payment for the hall, worth a billion. The dark secret had been revealed while she was tidying her husband’s study.

“A-Amora…” Vicktor stammered, both nervous and shocked to see his wife’s sudden arrival.

“Vick, don’t let Amora ruin Kelly’s party,” Lucy whispered softly.

All eyes turned toward Amora as she walked slowly across the red carpet toward the podium.

It wasn’t just Amora’s sudden arrival, but her full, rounded figure that shifted everyone’s attention solely onto her.

Vicktor’s heart pounded harder than ever as Amora ascended the podium. Her gaze was sharp, first piercing into Vicktor’s face, then shifting to Lucy’s. Finally, she bent slightly, leaning toward the little girl, around six years old.

“What’s your name?” Amora asked gently.

“Kelly Caldwell,” the girl answered in a small voice, her eyes locked on Amora’s, a flicker of fear in them.

Amora lifted her head again, throwing a cold look at Lucy.

“Amora…”

“Hello, Lucy. It’s been a long time,” Amora cut in, silencing Vicktor who had been trying to calm her. “How have you been?”

Lucy didn’t answer. She stood frozen, only glancing at the bewildered Vicktor.

“Why wasn’t I invited to your daughter’s birthday party?” Amora’s voice trembled with rage, fighting to hold back the storm building inside her. She wanted to explode, but the presence of children kept her restraint.

“Amora, darling. I can explain everything—but not here,” Vicktor said, reaching for her hand. Amora quickly brushed him away.

“Why, Vicktor? Afraid people will find out about your sordid affair?” Amora’s lips curled into a cunning smile.

“Please, Amora. Don’t ruin my daughter’s celebration,” Lucy finally spoke.

“And what about my marriage that you already ruined?” Amora retorted, her voice low but dripping with venom.

The hall fell into silence.

“Mommy, when can we cut the cake?” Kelly asked innocently. The little girl had no idea of the storm swirling around her.

“In a moment,” Lucy answered with a faint smile.

“Kelly, I have a gift for you.” Amora reached into the handbag she carried. She pulled out a small square box, tied neatly with a red ribbon.

“Here, this is for you, sweetheart.” Amora extended her hand.

“Thank you, Auntie.” Kelly smiled shyly as she accepted the gift.

“Go on, continue your party. But remember this, Vicktor—our business isn’t finished!” Amora’s fox-like eyes bore into the two people who had betrayed her so cruelly.

“And you, Lucy,” Amora’s finger pointed sharply at her former friend. “You filthy woman!” she spat, her voice cutting through the air.

With that, Amora turned and walked out. She had heard enough. Now it was time to plot her revenge.

For years, Amora had trusted Vicktor. Yet behind her back, he had betrayed her. Ten years she had given to her husband, devoting herself entirely to him.

And not only that—Vicktor’s entire family lived under her roof. The luxurious mansion had been a wedding gift from Robert Shane and Jessica Shane, Amora’s parents.

It was Amora who had lifted Vicktor’s standing, pleading with her parents to grant him a role in managing the Shane family business.

The next day, the CCTV of her home captured something that made Amora’s blood boil. Vicktor walked in carrying Lucy and Kelly.

“How dare he bring his mistress into my house!” Amora muttered furiously as she stormed to meet them.

The main door swung wide open, and her face twisted into a sneer at the sight of Vicktor. Planting her hands on her hips, Amora glared straight at Lucy.

“Amora, since you already know about me and Lucy, I’ve decided—I want Lucy and Kelly to live here with us,” Vicktor declared, boldly.

It was as if lightning struck her in broad daylight. Amora stood frozen, her chest tight, the fire inside her burning hotter than ever.

The footsteps grew clearer, a slow yet steady thud echoing behind her. Amora turned sharply, her wary gaze sweeping the length of the corridor. But still, there was no one there.“Am I just hallucinating?” she murmured, trying to steady herself. Her fingers tightened around the doorknob, ready to enter the competition room. But suddenly, a deep voice echoed from behind her.“Not everyone can walk this far, Amora.”Amora’s body tensed. She spun around quickly. A man in a black suit stood only a few meters away, his face half-hidden by the corridor’s shadows. His eyes were sharp, piercing.“Who are you?” Amora’s voice trembled, though she tried to sound firm. The man took a slow step forward, his tone cold. “You don’t need to know. I’m just following orders!”“Orders?” Amora’s brows furrowed faintly. “Who ordered you?” she pressed.“Someone who knows who you really are,” the man replied firmly.Amora stepped back. “What do you mean? I don’t even know you. Don’t try to scare me, or I’ll

“Wait, let me answer this call first. I’ll explain later, Darling,” Jessica said hurriedly, her face looking tense. She quickly rushed out of the room, as if trying to escape her daughter’s gaze.Amora, still seated where she was, could only watch her mother’s back disappear behind the door. Something felt strange. That warm smile from earlier had suddenly vanished the moment the phone rang.Is Mommy hiding something from me? she wondered, her brows knitting in suspicion. Before she could dwell on her thoughts, two nurses entered the room. “Miss Amora, it’s time to move you to the recovery room,” one of them said with a friendly smile.Amora nodded faintly. She didn’t protest, merely laying back down on the hospital bed. The two nurses carefully pushed her bed toward another room. A complete recovery was waiting ahead; the wounds from her plastic surgery had to heal perfectly before she could begin a new life..Two days passed. Finally, the moment Amora had been waiting for arrived—t

She didn’t know how it happened. The moment Amora opened her eyes, a scream tore from her throat. Shock rippled through her as her body felt… foreign. Her fingers traced over smooth skin, the curves of a body no longer burdened with excess weight. She—once mocked for being overweight—was now flawlessly slender.“What… is this?” she whispered breathlessly, struggling to recall the last thing she remembered. Then it hit her.The fire. She should have burned alive in that room. She should have died. If so, then where was she now? Was this another world?Amora darted her gaze around, searching for her mother. But this room was unfamiliar—white, sterile, filled with the sharp scent of medicine. She was alone. Her breath caught when her hand brushed the bandages tightly wrapped around her face, as though she had undergone plastic surgery.“Am I dreaming?” she muttered in confusion. No one was there to answer her—only silence.Suddenly, the glass door swung open. A nurse stepped inside, star

After Amora’s departure, the party resumed as if nothing had happened. Glasses clinked, music thumped once more, and the guests’ laughter filled the room. Vicktor stood with a blank expression, not even considering chasing after the woman who had stood by him long before he became anyone of importance.Lucy, who had been sitting sweetly at his side, smiled in satisfaction. Her shame had long vanished, replaced by a swelling sense of triumph. This is the moment. My revenge has finally begun, she thought, gazing at Vicktor with eyes brimming with smug delight. As the music took over the room again, people gradually began to forget the commotion from earlier. Laughter echoed once more, and the beat grew louder. But the calm didn’t last long.Suddenly, the sound of the large doors creaking open thundered through the hall. A middle-aged woman with piercing eyes stepped inside.“Turn off the music!” she commanded loudly. The melody was cut short. Silence fell instantly, thick with tension.

“Lucy, you’ve truly trampled on my dignity!” Amora’s voice quivered with restrained fury. She strode swiftly, cutting through the crowd of party guests. Her heels struck the marble floor with sharp echoes, while the music that had once filled the hall fell into sudden silence the moment she reached the center of the podium. All heads turned at once.“Hey, look! A fat woman wants to join our party,” one guest sneered mockingly.Whispers spread quickly. Disgusted glances swept over Amora’s body, as if her very presence were an embarrassment.Lucy, standing elegantly in her glittering designer dress, curved her lips into a scornful smile. She stepped slowly toward Amora, her gaze brimming with triumph.“Where is Vicktor?” Amora demanded, her voice cold yet firm. The atmosphere froze for a heartbeat before someone called out loudly, “Did I hear that right? This woman is looking for your lover, Lucy?”Small jeers followed.“Aren’t you ashamed? Just look at yourself… like a pig weighing a h

The car sped forward. Rain began to fall, accompanying Amora as she rushed to the hospital after receiving the news that her father was in critical condition. Raindrops streaked across the windshield in uneven lines, and Amora’s own tears streamed down her cheeks. When she arrived, Amora hurried inside the large hospital. Her heart trembled violently the moment her eyes caught sight of Vicktor standing not far from the emergency room. The wound of betrayal resurfaced, bringing back a pain she could hardly contain. She was about to step inside, but Vicktor’s voice stopped her.“Amora…” he called softly.Amora turned, her gaze bitter and sharp.“Why is Father in critical condition? Did he have an accident, Vick?!”Her question froze Vicktor in silence. His mind scrambled for an answer. He couldn’t possibly tell her the truth—that Robert had gone to see Lucy at her residence.“Mommy said Daddy slipped in the bathroom and passed out. Maybe his heart condition relapsed again.”Vicktor was
