“What a splendid party!” Amora’s loud voice rang out from the far end of the guests’ line facing the podium.

The hall was decorated with pink balloons, filled with guests—children and adults alike. Amora’s eyes fell on her husband, Vicktor, hosting a birthday celebration. What cut even deeper was recognizing the woman in the ivory-white gown standing by his side. That woman was Lucy—her own friend.

Driving her car, Amora had secretly followed Vicktor Caldwell, her husband, after she discovered a check, proof of payment for the hall, worth a billion. The dark secret had been revealed while she was tidying her husband’s study.

“A-Amora…” Vicktor stammered, both nervous and shocked to see his wife’s sudden arrival.

“Vick, don’t let Amora ruin Kelly’s party,” Lucy whispered softly.

All eyes turned toward Amora as she walked slowly across the red carpet toward the podium.

It wasn’t just Amora’s sudden arrival, but her full, rounded figure that shifted everyone’s attention solely onto her.

Vicktor’s heart pounded harder than ever as Amora ascended the podium. Her gaze was sharp, first piercing into Vicktor’s face, then shifting to Lucy’s. Finally, she bent slightly, leaning toward the little girl, around six years old.

“What’s your name?” Amora asked gently.

“Kelly Caldwell,” the girl answered in a small voice, her eyes locked on Amora’s, a flicker of fear in them.

Amora lifted her head again, throwing a cold look at Lucy.

“Amora…”

"Hi, Lucy. It’s been a while since we last met."

Amora cut off Vicktor’s voice, which sounded as if he was trying to calm her.

"How have you been?"

Lucy didn’t answer. She stood frozen, only glancing at the bewildered Vicktor.

“Why wasn’t I invited to your daughter’s birthday party?” Amora’s voice trembled with rage, fighting to hold back the storm building inside her. She wanted to explode, but the presence of children kept her restraint.

“Amora, darling. I can explain everything—but not here,” Vicktor said, reaching for her hand. Amora quickly brushed him away.

“Why, Vicktor? Afraid people will find out about your sordid affair?” Amora’s lips curled into a cunning smile.

“Please, Amora. Don’t ruin my daughter’s celebration,” Lucy finally spoke.

“And what about my marriage that you already ruined?” Amora retorted, her voice low but dripping with venom.

The hall fell into silence.

“Mommy, when can we cut the cake?” Kelly asked innocently. The little girl had no idea of the storm swirling around her.

“In a moment,” Lucy answered with a faint smile.

“Kelly, I have a gift for you.” Amora reached into the handbag she carried. She pulled out a small square box, tied neatly with a red ribbon.

“Here, this is for you, sweetheart.” Amora extended her hand.

“Thank you, Auntie.” Kelly smiled shyly as she accepted the gift.

“Go on, continue your party. But remember this, Vicktor—our business isn’t finished!” Amora’s fox-like eyes bore into the two people who had betrayed her so cruelly.

“And you, Lucy,” Amora’s finger pointed sharply at her former friend. “You filthy woman!” she spat, her voice cutting through the air.

With that, Amora turned and walked out. She had heard enough. Now it was time to plot her revenge.

For years, Amora had trusted Vicktor. Yet behind her back, he had betrayed her. Ten years she had given to her husband, devoting herself entirely to him.

And not only that—Vicktor’s entire family lived under her roof. The luxurious mansion had been a wedding gift from Robert Shane and Jessica Shane, Amora’s parents.

It was Amora who had lifted Vicktor’s standing, pleading with her parents to grant him a role in managing the Shane family business.

The next day, the CCTV of her home captured something that made Amora’s blood boil. Vicktor walked in carrying Lucy and Kelly.

“How dare he bring his mistress into my house!” Amora muttered furiously as she stormed to meet them.

The main door swung wide open, and her face twisted into a sneer at the sight of Vicktor. Planting her hands on her hips, Amora glared straight at Lucy.

“Amora, since you already know about me and Lucy, I’ve decided—I want Lucy and Kelly to live here with us,” Vicktor declared, boldly.

It was as if lightning struck her in broad daylight. Amora stood frozen, her chest tight, the fire inside her burning hotter than ever.

Lucy grabbed the large suitcase the maid had placed at the foot of the bed. Her hands trembled—not from fear, but from a fury she could no longer contain. She shoved several clothes into the suitcase with harsh, jerking motions, as if every piece of fabric were years of accumulated resentment.“Don’t just stand there like a statue! Hurry up and finish everything!” Lucy snapped at the maid, making the woman in the housekeeper uniform flinch. The maid could only nod, her face pale. She lowered her head and continued folding the clothes in silence.Vicktor remained standing by the bedroom door, his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes were cold, unmoving. His anger didn’t explode the way Lucy’s did—his was silent, yet far more suffocating.Lucy stopped her movements, then turned to face him. “So this is our end, Vick? Is it really that easy for you to discard someone who has stayed by your side for years?”Vicktor didn’t respond. His silence cut deeper than any words could.Lucy let out

Vicktor tightened his grip on Amora’s hand, his fingers firm as if he had no intention of letting her go. Without giving Lucy the slightest chance to speak, he pulled Amora away from the living room.Amora had no choice but to follow his steps, even as her mind filled with questions. Just before crossing the doorway, she turned. Her gaze met Lucy’s—eyes blazing with a mix of anger and disbelief. Yet Amora, for some reason, forced a faint smile. A smile that looked like victory. That smile became the final spark that made Lucy explode.“Vicktor, wait! I’m not done talking!” Lucy shouted, her voice cracking. “No matter what, I will never sign those divorce papers! Never, Vick!”Lucy stopped right at the bottom of the staircase, her breath uneven. But Vicktor didn’t turn around at all. He and Amora continued climbing each step without slowing down.Lucy lifted her head, staring at their backs as they disappeared behind the wall of the second floor. Her hands clenched so tightly that her

The atmosphere during lunch at the villa felt calmer compared to this morning. After cleaning and treating the scratch wound on Amora’s cheek, Vicktor tried to ease the tension that had filled the air. The dining table was filled with simple dishes, yet they were enough to make Kelly eat heartily. The little girl chewed slowly, then drank a glass of water to swallow the medicine she had to take. After that, she climbed down from her chair and ran lightly into the living room, carrying her worn-out favourite doll that seemed never to leave her embrace.Meanwhile, Amora and Vicktor continued their activities by sitting on the villa’s balcony. The gentle breeze stirred the ends of Amora’s hair, and the man watched her face with an expression that was difficult to read. Light conversation flowed, but there was something pressing in Amora’s chest—a tension that remained unresolved.“Vick,” Amora finally called, looking at the man in front of her seriously. “Are you sure about your decision

Vicktor strode swiftly toward Lucy, his voice sharp and firm. “Lucy, you cannot take Kelly! Kelly will stay here with me!”“NO!” Lucy stepped back, clutching Kelly even tighter in her arms. “I will not let that cheap woman poison my daughter’s mind with hatred!” she shouted, glaring fiercely at Amora.“What are you talking about?” Vicktor was beginning to lose his patience. “Stop accusing Elisha without any reason!”Lucy shoved Vicktor’s chest with the last ounce of strength she had. The push wasn’t strong, but it was enough to make him stumble one step back. “Go on, Vick—GO ON and defend that wretched woman right in front of me!” Lucy exploded without pause.Vicktor refused to back down. He moved toward Lucy again, trying to pull Kelly out of her arms.“Don’t touch me! Don’t touch my daughter!” Lucy retreated, but Vicktor still attempted to grab Kelly’s small arm, making the little girl tremble in fear.Amid the chaos, Kelly began to cry. “Dad… don’t fight… please… don’t…”But Lucy a

The collision of their bodies echoed once more. The two women attacked each other without mercy, as if the world belonged only to the two of them. Amora tried to stand, but Lucy yanked her back down, sending them both crashing onto the floor again. Amora’s hair was torn at, and her cheek became the constant target of Lucy’s aggressive fingers, sharpened by her long nails.Lucy’s nails landed directly on Amora’s face—scratching a long line from her temple down to her cheek. Blood began to drip instantly, blurring Amora’s vision. The sting spread quickly, yet Amora refused to give in.Even though her body was cornered, Amora continued to fight, gripping Lucy’s hair while kicking at the woman’s leg with all her strength.“I’ve been patient enough with your disgusting attitude and behaviour!” Lucy shouted as she yanked Amora’s hair roughly. “Answer my question! You do have a special relationship with my husband, don’t you?!”Amora winced from the pain, but her voice remained firm. “I don’

Thirty minutes had passed since her return. Amora was back at the villa, closing the door softly so as not to wake anyone. The cold morning air swept against her skin the moment she entered the room. Vicktor sat on the edge of the bed, his body slightly hunched, while Kelly had already fallen back into a deep sleep, completely unaware of the chaos from the night before. Amora carried the first-aid kit and immediately knelt in front of Vicktor. With careful precision, she began to press cold compresses on the bruises scattered across his body: his cheek, his stomach, and his back. Her movements were gentle yet firm, clearly showing her concern. When she wiped the cut on his forehead with antiseptic, Amora warned in a soft voice, “Hold still, Vick. This might hurt even more.” Her left hand was poised with a piece of gauze. Vicktor flashed her a teasing smile, even though his face betrayed the pain. “This wound is nothing, El. I’d be in far more pain if you walked away from me.” Amora
