Chapter 2 : The CEO Part 2

After we were satisfied with the amount of stuffs we had gotten, we went to the food court to grab a bite because we were starving.

Aysha caught the eyes of many men around the mall, as she was every man's type.

She had beautiful face features and a nice body, both men and women stole glances whenever they could.

I always looked average compared to her.

Sure I had a nice body to, but she stood out all the time.

We got home and unboxed all our stuffs and I selected an outfit for the next day.

I decided to go with a blue floral skirt which looked very formal and a chiffon top to go with it.

I settled for low heeled shoes because I guessed I'd be running around the company tomorrow as the CEO's secretary.

After dinner, I decided to sleep early since it was my first day and I wanted to be as early as I could.

I said goodnight to Aysha who was watching TV in the living room as I made my way to my bed.

"I really hope the CEO is not as bad as the rumours, I'd really be selling my soul to the devil if that were the case."

I thought to myself as I drifted into a much needed sleep.

I woke up at 8:00AM and started getting ready for work.

My bag was already filled with important things that I needed for the day. I was about leaving the house when Aysha woke up from her sleep and sleepily wished me a great day.

I thanked her and made my way to Mark&Co.

After receiving my individual company badge, I was guided to an office and was briefed on important things to not forget.

"Make sure the CEO always has tea in his office."

"He doesn't like verbose people, so, always be tactful."

"Do not look him in the eye, always look down when he speaks."

"You will have to do some meager jobs for him like clean up his office, wear him his tie, arrange his files and whatnot."

"Lastly, always have your international passport with you, he travels a lot and his secretary must always be with him."

I pretty much expected all these rules so I just nodded.

I did have one question though.

I was curious as to why his previous secretary was fired, so I asked.

The instructor simply said that the previous secretary couldn't keep up with the CEO's busy schedule and she was getting physically drained and gave up.

Heck, I really didn't think that being a secretary would be that draining.

But I guessed I needed to work to find out.

The briefing was done and I was directed to my desk which was beside the CEO's office.

I sat on my chair and admired the space.

I then pulled out my family portrait and placed on the table alongside my snack basket, in case I got hungry. The CEO would soon be on his way and I was practically shaking by now.

I really hoped he wasn't what the rumours pictured him as. If he was that scary then I pretty much walked into the devil's nest.

"This is taking forever...", I thought to myself after waiting for a long time for the CEO.

Finally, after what seemed like an hour, I got a call via the telephone on my desk. It was the lobbyist informing me that the CEO was on his way to his office and I was to get ready to welcome him.

I stood up to rearrange my outfit and was paving back and forth, wondering how I was to welcome him.

I sat down to arrange my thoughts before he arrived.

"Should I smile?"

"No, they said to put my head down when speaking to him."

"I'll just introduce myself as his new secretary and I'm sure he wouldn't give me any attention because he's busy."

"Don't worry Vic, you got this", I cheered myself as I awaited the dark knight.

I heard the elevator door open and I could hear footsteps.

I stood up almost immediately and put my head down, not daring to look at the CEO.

"Ah, this must be your new secretary, Director Lewis", A male voice said.

"Lewis? His name is Lewis. Okay. A man names Lewis can't be that bad."

"Oh shit he's here, I should make this as simple as I can,"  I thought to myself.

"Good morning Sir, My name is Victoria Smith and I will be your secretary starting today", I said timidly.

"Oh I know that very well Victoria", The CEO said.

"Wait. I know this voice, oh god please don't be him!!"

That Australian voice never left my head ever since the interview, and I prayed that it wasn't him.

I slowly raise my head up, only to be hit with the most shocking news ever.

"That jerk was the CEO? I'm so dead rn, I was so rude to him when we met and now I'm his secretary. This can't get any worse. Maybe if I pretend that I don't know him he won't recognise me?", I thought to myself as I looked at him.

I blinked twice to make sure I wasn't dreaming and I realised that I had been staring at him for too long, so I quickly put my head down.

He was dressed in a suit and he looked much more formal than the first time I saw him.

"Wow, she's the first that could look you in the eye Lewis", The other man said.

"I know Kaden, I myself am surprised", Lewis said in amusement.

He bent down to my height level and was dangerously close to my face when he said ; "Miss Smith, we'll be having a good time together, don't you think?"

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't say a word.

My cheeks turned pink when I realised how close he was to my face, he had a lingering effect on me and I didn't know why. He must have seen that I was blushing because he laughed softly and stood upright.

"She must be really shy, let's leave her alone for now", Lewis said to his friend as he jestured to his office door.

"Sure, I'd be seeing you around Vic", the other man said as he was about to enter Lewis' office.

He said my name as if we had known each other for a very long time, and he felt friendly, sort of.

"Oh by the way, I'm Kaden, lovely to make your acquaintance."

"Bye now", "Kaden" said as he went into the office.

I couldn't help but smile at how nice he was, but I was interrupted by someone clearing their throat.

I then remembered that the obnoxious man, who was now my boss was before me.

"Jasmine tea in 5 minutes Miss Smith", he said, a bit annoyingly.

I had been silent all this time, so my voice was raspy when I said "Yes sir".

He smile and went into his office.

I slumped on my chair and muttered the only words that could come out of my mouth :

NO WAY!
