Chapter 3- Threat

Five hours later I walked out of the room, and met Udensi outside, surprise to see him

“Udensi?”

“Let's talk in my office” He said to me as we both walked straight to his office, I got in and sat down, he walked straight to the wine cellar and took out a bottle of wine and two glasses, he came back to the table and poured out two glass, 

“Here for you” 

“Thanks” I said to him and took the glass of wine from him while he sat down, leaning back on his seat

“Do you remember the first words I said to you the first time that you step your feet in SHANTY?”

“Of course” I smiled, sipping my wine with my eyes on him, he leaned forward to the table staring at me eyeball to eyeball, 

“I told you Nazzy, this is SHANTY, this is the street, you don't belong here, and you promise that you're only here cause you wanted to raise money for your kitty cat, Brandy was with you, he pleaded on your behalf and I let you stay he even pleaded when you wanted to leave cause it wasn't time yet for you to go, but you said you needed to save your whatever lover, I allowed it because you have contributed enough to SHANTY now why the hell did I came this night and saw you again here?” 

I sighed and dropped the glass of wine, 

“I know I broke my promise Udensi, but I'm back now and I'm back for good, and this time there's no going back”

“You're back for good? Hell nah, what about your little prince? Wait, don't tell me he's gone?”

“Hmmm, he's gone” I nodded

“Wait, what? I thought he just needed a surgery or did he die during the surgery?”

“He's dead to me Udensi, he might be living but he's dead to me” 

“Shit, what did he do to you, that motherfucker, you fucking did everything for him” 

“Let's stop talking about dead people Udensi, is this all you have to say to me?”

“No, I have one last thing to say”

“Sure, I'm listening”

“It's about you Nazy, you know how I run SHANTY once you're in there's no going back”

“Trust me Udensi, yesterday night that I walked in here under that heavy rain that poured yesterday I already have no intention or whatsoever of going back, I'm back to SHANTY and this time it's for good”

“I'm still confused Nazy, you made a lot of money here, so why are you back, you should have lived a better life, you know that” 

“Ha, haha, haha …….!” I laughed and gulped down all my wine, slamming the glass on the table

“A better life? How can I still live a better life when there's nothing left, I don't even have a life anymore, nothing is left Udensi, so I might as well finish what I started.”

“Don't you get it Nazy you don't belong here!” He growls, I ignored him and grabbed the bottle of wine, I poured myself another glass, and gulped it down at once, 

“Udensi, I know you think I do not belong here, and that's okay, but what if I tell you that from now on this is the only place that is meant for me, this place called SHANTY and this street life is my life from now on” 

I stood up and grabbed the bottle of wine,

“Thanks for this, it's such a good wine” 

He didn't say anything to me, instead he watched as I left his office with the glass of wine, I was going back to the changing room cause the night is over, I walked into the changing room and saw Madison standing and facing the wall, I ignored her and went straight to check if my wet cloth is dry but she suddenly blocked my part, 

I sighed tiredly cause this fucking act is becoming a habit for this bitch, 

“Who do you think you are huh?” She said to my face, I stepped back a little cause the bitch was almost spitting to my face, 

“Chill out, don't spit on my pretty face” 

“What?” 

“Look Nazy, I want to ask, what was the meaning of the rubbish you did yesterday? In front of everyone you dare to reject a VIP the fuck is your problem?” 

I sighed and drank from my wine, 

“Are you crying cause he chose me and not you”

“Crying? When did I cry?!” She yelled

“That's exactly what you're doing now” I gestured with a smile,

“Nazy………!” 

“Exactly that's how bitches cry, but I don't know why you're still mad at me, cause I still left him for you and it's not my fault that he still didn't chose you, Oops, I heard you got no customers tonight, listen instead of beefing me and trying to find fault with me, why don't you go beef your real enemies whom you call friends”

“What do you mean by that?” She asked and walked closer, I smiled and gave her a dirty smirk

“You see why I call you a baby, did I succeed in confusing you?’’

“Nazy I swear I…..”

“Okay I think I did, see you bye…..” I blew her a kiss and walked out, smiling to myself but as soon as I got into a taxi driving back to my apartment all the tears and sadness that I've been masking all the night began to pour, the taxi driver had to glance at me at intervals, but the least I could do is give a fuck, my relationship destroyed in one day, my life went back to zero, and worse is I went back to my old ways that I thought I was over with,

It got worse when I got into my apartment and saw all the couples photos I took together with Fred, our couple items like tea cups and night wears, feeling so betrayed and lost, I began tearing everything apart and destroying them, I smashed the tea cups and slammed our picture frames, I went ahead to tear all of our couple clothes, everything that reminded me of him needed to be broken 

My room was a mess, but most of all I was a total mess, my hair was scattered and unrecognizable at this point, I was panting and breathing heavily, my hand was bleeding from all the things that I've smashed, I love Fred, I love him so much that I could do anything for him, I love him so much that I could give my life for him, but why? Why did he do this to me,

I need to call him, maybe he didn't mean what he did to me, maybe he needs time to think about it and come back to his senses, yes, yes that's it, I reached out for my phone that was on the couch, and with my bloody hand, I grabbed it. I was shaking vigorously, from fear, from anxiety, from desperation, and most especially from being abandoned again, 

I slumped down on the couch and my thumbs were shaking as I scroll through my phone, and finally I dialed Fred's number, my heart was beating so fast like I was running a marathon, I was biting my lips so hard praying he picks up, the phone rang for the first time he didn't pick it, it was a facetime call, I was almost giving up at the third time when his face suddenly popped up

“Fred?” I called anxiously

“The fuck is wrong with you bitch can't you see I'm with my woman and you're disturbing my peace” He groan and shifted the camera I saw the face of a strange lady beside him, I felt my eyes spinning as my head could not understand the situation 

“Fred, we just broke up today and you're already in another woman's arms?”

“Today? Love? Honey, did we start dating today?” The strange lady asked him caressing his jaws

“No sweetheart, it's been five years, and whether I love her, No I never did, she's just a freelancer who pays our bills” 

“A freelancer?” I asked laughing at my stupidity as I wipe my tears, 

“Okay, let's see if you will still say that tomorrow”

“Wait, what do you mean by that?” He snapped and became serious immediately, I smirk happily and shake my head

“Nothing, have a wonderful night with your woman, see you tomorrow or not”
