Chapter 16

“The door is locked.”

Cecelia’s expression fell. “I was answering a call earlier. When I saw the door open, I closed it without thinking even though I had not entered the place... So I’m here, waiting for you to open the door for me.”

‘... so I was too conceited?!’

William’s thin lips moved as he said, “I don’t have the keys.”

“... didn’t you know I left the keys with you? When I left this morning, I hung them on the clothes rack for you, didn’t you see them?”

Cecelia only had one set of keys. If she took it along, William would not have a key to reenter the house if he went out. Thus, even though she had been infuriated that morning before going out, she left the keys at home with him.

Cecelia felt that she had been too kind-hearted.

It was a great opportunity for her to chase him out of her house, yet she did not think of it earlier.

Cecelia noticed William’s expression darken slightly. She asked him, “Since you don’t have the keys, how did you go out? Don’t tell me you went out without locking the door?”

The residential community Cecelia lived in had experienced a few break-ins in the past, therefore, she had always made sure that her door was properly locked before leaving.

If he had left the house unlocked, she would need to search the place for any missing items.

The man answered with three words, “Didn’t go out.”

“... then where did these new clothes come from?” ‘Did the clothes jump on you themselves?’

“Someone delivered them.”

“... who?” Cecelia did not recall any boutiques nearby that had delivery services. Were they sent to him by his ex?

That thought changed Cecelia’s expression as she looked at William.

There were times when Cecelia spoke bluntly. For example, at the current moment when she simply said what was on her mind, “Do you remember what type of relationship we have?”

William was well aware that there was a hidden meaning within her words. His eyes and tone remained calm as he replied Cecelia with a question, “Have you forgotten?”

“... I don’t care how your lifestyle was in the past, but you’re living with me now. Although we are not really husband and wife, I still hope that you can at least be mindful of my feelings.”

William frowned slightly when he saw the lady’s expression turn sullen. Additionally, her round eyes were filled with displeasure. “Are you jealous?”

Cough, cough, cough... Cecelia choked on her saliva. “I... I don’t have romantic feelings for you. I just don’t like the fact that any Tom, Dick, and Harry could have entered my house freely.”

Cecelia did not know if she had said something wrong, but William’s expression turned as dark as fast as her eyes could see.

A sulky William approached Cecelia step by step.

“You... you...” Cecelia immediately had a change of attitude. “If... if I was being casual with another guy, wou... would you be able to ignore it?”

William was not too far away from Cecelia when he raised his right hand...

Cecelia closed her eyes in reflex and shouted, “I thought you were different from Hawick. Looks like I’m wrong.”

However, pain Cecelia was expecting did not arrive even after a long time. Cecelia slowly opened her eyes and her gaze met the man’s cold stare.

His gaze was not only cold, but it also had a glint that Cecelia could not understand.

He took a glance at Cecelia and finally locked eyes with her expression that looked fearful yet stubborn. “I’m not as uncivilized as you think.”

The hand he had placed behind Cecelia’s head appeared once again with a hairpin in between his thumb and index finger.

When William used the pin to open the lock, Cecelia was shocked by what she saw and felt rather guilty.

‘Looks like I thought poorly of him.’

Moreover, when she entered the house after some hesitation, she saw the receipts on the table in the living room. Consequently, she felt too embarrassed to face William.

Perhaps it was her experience with Hawick that caused her to feel paranoid. The first thought that had come to her mind when she saw William’s clothes were that they had been given to him by another woman.

In reality, he was not limited to the boutiques that were only nearby, and there were plenty of other boutiques elsewhere.

The more Cecelia looked at the receipts, the more guilty she felt. She wanted to apologize to William but when he walked past her, she could only manage a word before realizing that he was ignoring her, pretending that she did not exist.

Cecelia pouted and swallowed the apology that was hanging at the tip of her tongue.

‘Perhaps he’s still in the heat of anger. I’ll apologize when he is slightly calmer.’

With that thought, Cecelia prepared to put the receipts back at their original position. However, when she saw the amount stated on the receipts, the apology in her heart immediately turned into anger.

It was something unforgivable and Cecelia could no longer entertain her fears. She grabbed the receipts and angrily went to look for William who had just entered the room.

“What is th...”

Her question got stuck halfway up her throat when she saw that William was in the midst of taking off his clothes.

Cecelia was dumbfounded as she looked at William’s naked top.

She was a little perverted, to be honest, and she enjoyed reading comics. Each time she looked at a male character’s perfect figure, she would secretly touch the body that was on the page.

She thought that body figures like eight packs, Apollo’s belt, etc only existed in comics, but right now...

Gulp...

Cecelia gulped her saliva.

She was tempted to give his body a touch to see how the real thing felt.

Her pervy self took over Cecelia’s rational mind and made her do something bold.

As she walked past William without saying a word, her hand that was now under the control of her pervy side reached out toward William.

At that moment, Cecelia’s brain was temporarily not functioning.

She was satisfyingly happy, but for William...

He firmly struck the girl’s hand and headed to the bathroom without saying a word.

Cecelia saw him leaving and subconsciously chased after him. “Hey, don’t be so petty. You won’t lose a pack if I touch it.”

Cecelia’s rationality had not returned yet.

William stopped in his tracks, his black eyes looked at Cecelia. Without batting an eye, he said, “You still want to?”

“Yup, yup, yup.” Cecelia raised a finger. “Just a little more.”

She had touched his eight packs but not his Apollo's belt. She would no longer have any regrets after touching his Apollo’s belt.

“You can.” The man’s gaze was indecipherable. “But I have one condition.”

“Not just one. You can name ten.” A certain girl’s brain was not functioning and she had begun spouting nonsense.

“One will do.”

“What is it, say it.”
