Straight Forward Confrontation

Yuri's heart skipped a beat the second he saw Gleb, but his expression shifted to pure disgust almost immediately.

He watched carefully, his glass inches away from his lips, as Ethan let go of Gleb's arm the moment they fully entered public view.

The expression on his face was calm and composed with flushed cheeks. Gleb on the other hand looked noticeably disheveled beside him.

His hair was messy, his collar looks and lips slightly red like someone either kissed him with their face or fist.

The former made Yuri nauseous, but not as nauseous as the fact he never noticed Ethan and Gleb's affair earlier. It was even funnier how he used to be so heads over heels.

A normal person would still feel conflicted at the moment, but all Yuri could think about was revenge for being played and treated like trash for those years.

He drank the last of what was in his glass, placed it on the long dining table at the corner of the hall and got another before turning back to watch the lovers.

They stopped just a few feet away from the room they stepped out of, Ethan whispered something to Gleb that got him clenching his jaw in annoyance.

But then Yuri noticed the third person stepping out from the same room.

Bright nearly white pale blonde hair, messily styled with a few strands over his forehead, and a body only intense training and workout could result in. Not to mention his light blue eyes that seemed to reflect the lights around him.

Yuri's gaze lingered on his face for quite a while. He couldn't quite place it, but he forgot who that was.

He tilted his head slightly.

“Gleb's friend?" He asked outloud, still not taking his eyes off the guy. He was sure he came across someone like that, but he couldn't recall where or who he was.

He watched the strange guy walk over to Gleb with a mocking smile on his face. Gleb's expression didn't change either, but his clenched fists showed he was angry.

Ethan moved between the two men, his gaze darting around nervously, he said something to the strange guy that got him stepping back a bit with his hands raised.

But Yuri continued watching and taking notes.

His black suit looked just as messy as Gleb’s. His collar was torn slightly around his neck while his sleeves remained slightly rolled up like he'd just walked out of an argument or a fight.

He chuckled softly to himself before taking a glass from a passing waiter and bringing it lazily toward his lips.

Yuri frowned.

‘Is he one of Gleb's lovers?’ he wondered internally but shook his head gently and took a sip from his drink.

That couldn't be Gleb's lover. Gleb hated anyone taller than him. The man would rather throw himself down a staircase than admit someone could look down at him.

“So Ethan then?’ his gaze drifted to Ethan and Gleb as they made their way back into the room completely unaware of his eyes on them.

Yuri simply chuckled.

They were being so obvious.

It was then his attention shifted to the pair not far from him also staring, then the woman laughed when her friend said something.

“Isn't he handsome? He's pretty polite too, and I hear he's Old Man Mikhail?”

Yuri froze.

He slowly turned to look at the stranger. ‘Mikhail? The Mikhail Vasilev? Seriously?!’

The woman's friend laughed softly, "He may be polite but he's an absolute menace, haven't you seen how he treats his step brother?”

Yuri's ears perked up suspiciously. He sneakily went close and averted his gaze.

"What?” The woman looked at the stranger and shook her head. "That's absurd, he doesn't look bad."

"It's always the innocent ones love, although he doesn't really look innocent. The old man had him and his mother married into another family for some contract,” the lady shrugged.

“Honestly, it's even funnier because the contract ended yesterday and Caesar began showing his true colours. I'm telling you that's all a facade.” she paused, “I also heard all the omegas he's been with went missing." She whispered as they walked off after her friend gasped.

Yuri blinked. He looked at the strange man, narrowing his eyes like he was seeing things, but he honestly wasn't.

When Caesar's eyes met his, he gasped, choked on his drinks and instantly turned away coughing.

He clutched his chest, his other hand covering his mouth as he coughed discreetly.

He suddenly realised who that person was paying no mind to the last thing the woman said, but not out of familiarity but because he found out about him on the news, specifically under a scandal involving Ethan.

Yuri's fingers tightened around the glass, "No, That wasn't possible.” He forgot that face and at the same time remembered because that face was popular on the news for about two years after now.

He remembered seeing it splashed across every news channel years later, a huge scandal that nearly cost Ethan's career, his father's annoyance towards the entire issue and most importantly the tragic death.

Caesar Vasilev was supposed to be dead.

Why was he here then?

Why was he fighting with Gleb? Was he involved with Ethan as well?

Multiple questions rose in Yuri's mind, completely forgetting about the most important thing. He was so distracted that he didn't realize he was being watched.

However, before he could turn to take a peek at Caesar again a hand dropped on his shoulder making him flinch. He spun around swiftly, and annoyed expression on his face only to come face to face with Ethan.

Yuri frowned, "Can I help you?” He asked before Ethan could say anything.

Ethan narrowed his eyes. He scanned Yuri from head to toe and scoffed. “I was wondering how long it'd take before you embarrassed yourself again, seems like you're stable enough to…" he glanced at the glass in Yuri's hand with a mocking smile, “...drink"

Yuri felt his eyes twitch with the itch to hit Ethan, since he was the root of his problems.

But instead he chuckled softly and smiled, “I'm sorry, I didn't know my mental instability was suddenly a problem for you," he said politely and tilted his head when Ethan frowned. "What's wrong?” He leaned close and whispered. "Didn't think your lover's fiance could talk back?”

"Bi..polar?" Caeser asked, side glancing at Yuri whose face had gone pale and was keeping a distance between them. He lowered his eyes to Yuri's hands clenched at his sides and back to his face. "You're scared...why?" Yuri could not believe his ears, who wouldn't be scared. He thought Caeser was all smiles and entertainment only to find out he was actually incredibly dangerous.Ignoring Caeser's words, he turned towards the wall of the elevator and hugged himself.'I didn't make a mistake right?' he asked himself, deliberately waiting for a voice to answer him, but when none came his shoulder sagged. 'Is that why Gleb is scared of him? No it can't be, he laughs and acts like any young man, so ...'"Yuri what are you doing?" Yuri flinched the second Caeser's warm breath fanned his neck. He straightened up and turned around, lifting his hands to shove Caeser away, but instead Caeser grabbed his hands firmly and pinned them against the wall."Are you scared of me?" Yuri nodded gently

Yuri's expression faltered for a moment, he found himself staring behind Caeser, avoiding his gaze but mostly because his attention was on the skyline outside the window."Why do you ask?" He asked and got up Caesar sat up straight and leaned forward, his elbows resting on his thighs. "Don't play games with me, Yuri, Who or where did you get that information from?" Yuri paused, his eyes darkened just seeing the expression on Caeser's face and the drop in his tone. It was that familiar expression that came before Gleb would yell at him or throw something, but somehow....he felt Caeser wasn't going to do something like that.Or perhaps he was just paranoid.Tilting his head a bit, Yuri took of a sip of his drink and shruggged, "I got it from a reliable source, it's nothing serious." He answered lightly, already turning towards the kitchen again.Caeser's eyes narrowed dangerously. He rose form the sofa in one fluid motion, his steps silent and slowly released his pheromones. Caesar’s expression almost faltered for a fraction of a second. His eyes widened briefly as he held eye contact with Yuri. He intentionally waited for Yuri to look away or say something else to change the subject, but Yuri held the contact firmly, patiently waiting for an answer.:No one. Absolutely no one was supposed to know about that,' Caesar thought as his eyes slowly darkened with the sinister urge to do something he knew he would regret. His jaw tightened to the point that the veins on his neck were clearly visible and bulging beneath his skin.He watched Yuri’s eyes drop to his neck before he snickered and turned back to the screen in front of him.It took Yuri shifting on his thighs to snap him back to reality and finally say something.“So you did a background check on me, huh?” He managed to say, his voice dropping to a sinisterly low tone that would have frightened anyone, but he was fighting back the urge to act rashly. It wasn’t until Yuri moved closer and he felt his w

The plane touched down in Singapore at exactly 5:30 a.m., when the sun was barely above the horizon, bathing the city in a dull dark yellow glow. The city skyline was a combination of multiple colours from the billboards, the cars, buildings, and road lights.A black jeep had already been prepared, waiting just by the plane for Caesar by the time they arrived. Without waiting, he got in with Yuri and drove them both to his place. After about an hour’s drive, the car pulled up in front of a tall high-rise building near Marina Bay. Caesar led them both up to the penthouse on the top floor, and Yuri’s jaw dropped at the sight.“You… you live here alone?” He dropped his bag by the corner and made his way in, ogling at the design and the sheer absurdity of the space in the penthouse. The living room was spacious with large sofas that could pass off as beds and a massive wide-screen television hanging on the wall. Across the sitting area was the kitchen area, giving a kind of studio apartme

'He's faking it.' Yuri thought, his gaze fixed on Gleb's face unable to pry his eyes away from his face. He wanted to.... he wanted so much to grab his collar and yell at him for everything he did. But it would only make him look like an idiot. Yet, he was still an idiot... A weak idiot omega who still for no reason still loved this man dearly after everything. Gleb caused him so much pain, pain that not even an apology could fix, and it was still his fault that he died. He was trapped, suffocating daily till he couldn't handle it. If it wasn't because he feared pain, He was certain he would have committed suicide. Yet, gazing at those awfully sincere green eyes, Yuri felt a very familiar warmth spread through his body. "Yuri, my love..." Gleb cupped his face with his cold palms and leaned in. "Please give me another chance, I'll do anything." Yuri opened his mouth to speak, but he closed it back tightly knowing he was going to regret whatever would come out from his mouth. H

The ceremony was underway as soon as the groom and his partner arrived. The vows were made with ease, with Caeser smiling through the entire thing like he was the happiest man on earth. Truth be told, Yuri was the happiest. At some point from the corner of his eyes he could see Ethan seating far back, his lips tucked tightly between his lips in pure rage. He couldn't understand why Ethan was angry, especially when he finally had Gleb all to himself, but it wasn't any of his concern. What was more pleasing was his grandfather's death stare, his fists clenched to tight his knuckles had turned white. Why was he here? Mister Jang... Illya Alexanderovich, had spoke at length with his father after they argued about 'Yuri's choice for a husband' with Hana openly and boldly challenging him, which wasn't new. Besides, Yuri got his behaviour from her. William had been coerced into staying and at least pretending to be happy, because he wanted to fix things with his son. As much as it affe
