Luna Harmony squeezed Lilly's hand. "Your father's right, sweetheart. And remember, being someone's mate doesn't mean losing yourself. It means finding someone who complements and helps you grow while still being true to you."

Lilly felt a weight lifting from her chest as she listened to her parents' words. For the first time since Axel had appeared in her life, she allowed herself to consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, this could be something good.

The next morning came quickly, but she still wasn’t excited to see the rest of the pack members at breakfast. There were way too many gasps for her liking, but it was the duty of a high-ranking pack member to eat with their pack, regardless of how it made them feel.
