Emelia opened her eyes, and the white roses beautifully spread around the water fountain caught her attention, she smiled unknowingly.
White roses were her favorites. She turns around and every eye is on her, from the back of her head, she can feel the piercing gaze of everyone.
She tried moving her legs and with no effort, it reacted, “no pain…” She thought. This was not the scene she had been expecting to see.
The last of her memory was her dying a painful death and here she is with everyone staring at her like she is some expensive artifact laid out for display.
She raised her pale fingers with nails painted blushed pink to her face, her tears felt too real for all this to be some dream, Emelia held the the hem of her dress pinching herself so hard, that she folded her lips not daring to let the screams bottled up within. Only then did she realize she had been reborn.
The venue did not only look familiar but it was the day she wished to overturn the outcome more than anything in her previous life. She booted up her lips not daring to let go of the screams of fright and joy buried within.
“Will you marry me?” the voice she threaded the most asked and there she noticed the man on one knee an open ring box in hand. The diamond ring shined so brightly, almost blinding her sight.
The ring was nothing big but certainly was rare. Alexandrites, a ring that can change colors, emerald by day, ruby by night, perfect for the top clans.
How would any woman not want such a ring? 3 years ago she had taken it with a smile thinking she had got the best but here she was, a broken heart, murdered, neglected, and tossed to the side as garbage became her outcome.
3 years his love for her was as rare as the gem indeed it had been rare with a hint of death attached to it. Emelia knew just how she had answered 3 years ago,
“yes' ' was the answer and certainly what everyone was looking forward to hearing. Staring at the man before her, Emelia sneered in her heart, he was smiling at her but she knew his heart was with another.
“Emi '' Mark called out to her reaching for her hands but Emilia stepped away from him, she was done. She was more determined to break off this relationship than her virginity, which she had been very eager to give in to him. A perfect trophy wife she had been.
“I am barren” she blurted out to the hearing of everyone. At this point what did matter was the way out and damn the consequences.
“What are you saying? Stop it right now '' Mark demanded but Emilia was far gone to turn back.
“I am barren,” she says again as if trying to convince herself. The silent hall erupted with questions and suddenly became too noisy for her comfort.
“What did you say?'' Luna Camfrey asked, but Emilia stood quiet and unresponsive, her eyes to the ground she dared not utter another word. “She is a lying mother,” Mark interrupted hurriedly. “Is she pregnant then?” his angry mother asked back.
“No,” Mark replied reluctantly. “Exactly”
“but mother” Mark intervenes. “Not another word. We can't have a barren woman as Luna” Luna Camfrey roared angrily. He was not only the next alpha after her husband but her favorite among her two sons. She least expected such from him. Everyone was too stunned to say a word.
“There is no such thing as a barren luna” Luna Camfrey announced. Emilia stood her heart pounding in joy. “But this alliance can't be broken,” she added, crushing Emilia's dance of joy.
“This children..'' Alpha Camfrey who has been silent all along groaned angrily. “To my office” he ordered. He was standing and walking out of the great hall. Away from the eyes of the pack and his parents, Mark pulls Emilia to the wall slamming her back so hard to the wall she could swear she heard a little crack. Not bothered by her painful look, Mark held up her neck, painfully strangling her.
“What in the devil's name do you think you're doing?” he demanded but Emelia was too choked up to reply. Her bright red face was now portraying colors of white and black.
“Damn it '' Mark cursed, letting her fall to her feet. Emelia coughed a few times inhaling as much air to her deprived lungs. “Reject me. Reject me that's all I want” she replies barely catching her breath.
“You must be dreaming '' Mark laughed arrogantly.
“Get your act together, you must be sick in the head to think I will do such. You better stop this childish play of yours and let's resume the ceremony. Don't you dare make a fool out of me Emelia, you've been warned” Mark did not hesitate to leave her on the floor.
“I won't lose to him” she heard him murmur to himself, his back disappearing behind the huge pillars of the hallway.
“Two words and you've shown me who you are, I will be damned if I don't break this shit of an engagement with you Mark Comfrey'' Emelia stood to her feet dusting off her dress. She was more determined to break her engagement than anything else.
Walking towards the alpha's office, happy memories of her holding hands, laughing and smiling at her devil of a fiance. He had been there for her when she lost her parents in a car crash, he was the one to hold her and comfort her every other night.
But at this junction, it did not matter, he was the devil she had to run away from. with every step came courage and determination.
“Even if it rains cats and dogs today, I still will not accept this union” With that said, Emelia turned the hard door knob.
Entering the Alpha’s office and carefully closing the door behind her, Emelia took glances around the room. suddenly feeling suffocated and jumped up, it has always been a big office. She was familiar with its intriguing paintings and decor having visited it on countless occasions with her late parents, but today had its specialties.“Sit child” Alpha Camfrey urged her. Unlike Luna who had a specialty towards her two children, the alpha caredless. He was more interested in who would be his heir and so far Mark is the only befitting one fitting him into his standards of the next Alpha. Emelia pulled out a chair for herself with shaking hands. Her legs shaking tremendously from the tension scattered all over the room. “If she doesn't want the wedding, call it off… I dont have all day” a cold voice echoed all through the walls only increasing the nervousness within her. Emelia turned to a dark corner of the room, he was dressed in all black with very little light illuminating the da
The room felt so silent the sound of falling leaves could be heard. Emelia had her eyes on the floor, she dared not look in the face of everyone most especially Fredrick Camfrey. Silence wept through for another five minutes before a word was said. “ It is settled then '' Alpha Camfrey announced, dusting his hands cheerfully. Emilia sighs in relief. She breathed as much air as her mouth could carry for her lungs. Mark turned and everyone had a satisfied look on, he was the only one enraged by the decision. “ How can it be over?” he demanded. Losing his fated mate did not bug him as much as knowing his brother got her. Fredrick marrying Emelia will be nothing less than a hot slap in his face. “I can't have my mate marry my brother, '' Mark announced but the word brother sounded rather strange rolling out of his mouth. He was not the only one who felt its strangeness but the red-eyed demon seated felt it too. “Emelia just can't marry Fred,'' Mark concluded. Luna comfrey patted her
7 days down and everything feels like a touch of illusions cooked up in Emelia’s head. Emelia has not had a moment of peaceful sleep. Her thoughts constantly drifted away into the unknown abyss of uncertainty. Staring down at the snow-white wedding dress soon to be worn, she sighs regretfully. Her wedding has been all her parents talked of as she came of age. The alliance they all wished and prayed for. There was nothing they did or said that did not have to do with her marrying their best friend's son. Her wedding had been all her parents long anticipated. The wedding dress had not only been exclusively customized with everything hand-designed but 3 years was enough time to have them pay for the dream wedding for their princess before the unfortunate hands of death snatched them away from her. She had thought he was the one, she had carefully chosen every design with her mother, handpicking the day's color and flowers. She went for dessert and cake tasting and here she was marryi
The wedding was like a glimpse and just before she could blink it was all over, Emelia stared out of the window watching the night light spread across the city beautifully. She smiles watching the folks go about their duties with smiles and cheerful behaviors. Deep down Emelia wanted such a life, she wanted to feel real happiness again and live for herself. Her eyes squint holding back her tears as they threaten to fall. The car takes a new turn making her aware of the change of directions. She snaps out of her thoughts taking her head away from the window turning her attention to the man before her. A sly smile plays on Fredrick’s lips watching the pudzle look of the woman before him. To say he had not been expecting her to react would be a lie.“We are married” he stated the fact not taking his eyes away from the front. He was too tired, but not exhausted enough. Emelia raised a questioning brow. “I know we are married, but why the change of direction, this is certainly not the way
“Going somewhere?” a cold voice whispered, sending shivers down her spine. Emelia quickly pushed herself off him but the feeling of her hands against his hand's chest did not digest down her throat. “Why are you naked and in my room?” she half yells but the man before her pays no attention to her fright and screams. He walks away so casually heading for the second door. Emelia did not stop to rethink her decision before bashing in, and he stood all naked and folly unclad before her.“Sweet goddess' ' she cursed, turning away almost immediately. “Why don't you wear clothes around the house?” she laments her cheeks heating up. “Says the lady who handpicked me for a groom” his cold whispers were rather driving him crazy than she had anticipated. Emelia did not know how long it took but dashing out the dressing room was indeed the right choice. She walks over to the balcony, letting the fresh night breeze blow through her jumbled-up thoughts. This was a night she had long prepared for, she
The sun was up when Emelia heard a low pounding on the door, she jumped to her feet carefully taking out the parcel that had been delivered the night before and pouring its contents on the bed.She takes a final look before deciding on opening the door. Just as her hands were about to turn the doorknob, could hands drag her from the door pushing her hard back against the wall. Emelia winces in pain.“What is it with you brothers slamming me so hard on the wall?'' she frowned but the man before her wasn't paying attention to her complaints. His cold lips settled on her nap sensually sulking onto her skin.“Hey.. we agreed about nooo… ahh'' Emelia moaned, trying hard to push the man away but he was too big and powerful for her.For some reason, her body was reacting differently from her mind. She was screaming to push him away but her mind was the only path for her with logical reasoning. His hands are carefully wrapped around his neck pulling him even closer. Her lips slightly pattern,
The omegas carefully bows to the floor, avoiding the royal party's raging eyes as they make their way through. They all needed not to be told what to do. Clair Anderson could not take another moment with the priest going about his boring incantations.“This should be her and not me” she murmured to herself, making sure her voice was low enough not to be heard by others.“The ceremony is now complete and the young alpha can go ahead and burn the sheets, to bring good luck and a prosperous marriage to his elder brother.” the priest announced taking his leave.“Take this to your fiance” Luna Camfrey hands over the stained sheets to Clair who holds on to this tightly, her long nails digging into the sheets creating holes of anger and jealousy. She is gently courteous to the Luna before storming her way out. Slamming the door behind her, she tosses the dirty sheets to the figure on the bed. Mark yawns annoyed.“Who dares' ' he hissed, opening his eyes only to meet the fury of Clair Anderso
Every document related to her father's company had been sent over to her. It's been days and Emelia dared not step out of her room, covered in files and papers, she drinks one cup of coffee to the next. So much needed tending. She had not been the one to deal with the problems of the company in her previous life, at least not while Mark had offered to shoulder the responsibility. Zorah and Fame couture was the biggest in the fashion industry with multiple branches scattered all over the country and beyond. Emilia was not a newbie to the happenings of the business. She was not talented. She was what they call a beauty with the hands of a goddess. Not only did her parents make and sell her designs, but she has always drawn and provided every sketch. And that was the biggest secret hidden from the ears of the world. Emelia was too emenced in her work not hearing the loud knocks from her door. Fredrick Camfrey has never been the patient type. “She will be ready when I get back,” he his
