Chapter 4: Mission

“Your mission is to collect the eight sacred gems and return safely to the Academy.” Ms. Salvaria, our teacher, said seriously.

“You are divided into four groups. Ms. Soem, you will join the group of royalties.” she said.

I simply nodded.

“That’s unfair!” one student said.

“Why do we have to be with them?” Ivy mumbled.

Gosh, why is this girl so nosy?

Our section was divided into four groups. And in each group, there should be two or three members who are partners because there are times when we need to separate. Headmistress assigned the partners.

“Sierra and Loki, Reise and Kiero. Next, royalties. These are your partners: Princess Venus and Prince Kreo. Princess Celestina and Prince Trevor. Princess Yvy, Princess Angel, and Prince Klev.” Ms. Salvaria hadn’t even finished speaking when a hand went up.

“Yes?” Ms. Salvaria asked a student.

“Why are Princess Yvy and Prince Klev with Princess Angel? Shouldn’t Princess Angel be with Prince Haze?”

Before Ms. Salvaria could answer, Yvy spoke up. This bitch really loves attention, huh. Can’t she just shut her mouth? Duh.

“Of course! I’d rather be with Angel than that girl! It’s fine, Ms. Salvaria. Angel will be with me and Klev.” Yvy said. She turned to Angel with a smile, who seemed hesitant and opposed to what she said, but she couldn’t do anything but smile back at her friend.

I smirked.

“Alright, Princess Yvy. Now, Prince Haze and Ms. Astraea.”

He’s my partner.

I don’t know why, but my heart was beating fast. I can feel my face heated. What’s wrong, Astra? No, this is normal. I’m just happy I won’t be with that bitch Yvy. Goodness, Havoc is my partner.

“You must return here within thirty days. Now, you may return to your units, you have one hour to prepare your things. Come back immediately to start your mission in the Enchanted Forest.”

Everyone moved quickly at Ms. Salvaria’s words. I returned to the unit with the Royals, and Angel’s brother was also with us. I heard that the kings and queens had already returned to their respective kingdoms.

I looked at the weapons I could bring, but none of them seemed to suit me. I can’t use any of these things. My whole life, I’ve only been able to control my power. I can’t use my power there because besides being discovered, I still can’t fully control it.

This sucks.

Gosh, Astra! I closed my eyes in irritation.

I prepared my other things and didn’t bother to get and bring any weapons. When I finished packing, I put my mask back on, my eyes and hair turned blue again.

I took my things and went out of the room where the royalties were waiting. They all looked at me, especially what I was wearing.

Kreo whistled as he looked me up and down. I raised my brows at them.

“What are you wearing, Astra?” Angel asked.

Are you blind?

“Astra, we’re going on a mission.” Venus reminded me.

“So?” I asked.

“You should wear a proper suit.” Celestina said.

I looked at what they were wearing. They were all in armor suits, each holding their own weapons. I wasn’t informed about a dress code.

“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” I asked. I looked at my clothes, it’s cute!

“We’re going on a mission, Astraea. Your clothes might hinder your movement.” Klev said.

“You don’t care.” I answered him.

“Are you stupid? Do you want to be a burden to us?!” Yvy yelled angrily and pointed at me again.

Did she just call me stupid?

Before I could slap the bitch’s face, the cold and dangerous voice echoed.

“Princess Yvy.”

“What?! Really, Trevor? You’re going to side with that girl?!” Yvy yelled.

Trevor looked at her darkly. “You’re a Princess, act like one.” he said coldly.

Yvy was startled. Her face reddened.

“Kuya!” Angel reprimanded her to defend Yvy and grabbed her brother’s arm.

I rolled my eyes.

Havoc went out the door first, he probably didn’t want to hear Yvy’s drama! I followed him, carrying my things, leaving the other royalties behind.

“Hi!” I greeted him.

He ignored me.

Humph! How dare he? Gosh!

I pouted. “You’re so grumpy!”

“Stop following me and mind your own business.” he said coldly.

Following me? Well, we’re going to the same place, right?! This guy is so cold.

Psh! He’s too serious. Is he allowed to act like that because he’s handsome? I doubt that.

I just kept quiet until we reached our classroom, the royalties followed us after a few minutes.

“Now that everyone is here, follow me.”

As Ms. Salvaria said, we followed her. She brought us to a hidden gate of the Academy.

The gate that towers over the enchanted forest. The gate is made of wrought iron and intricately designed with the Empire of Devoc and under it are the seven kingdoms’ symbols and motifs representing each of the different royalties and nobles at the academy.

Two knights were guarding it. Ms. Salvaria approached them and spoke. I was captivated by the design of the gate. The symbols of the empire and the seven kingdoms under it, including Cadieus. I stared at them for a moment, until the middle part of the gate where the map and symbol of Devoc, the Empire, were positioned. All of the Kingdoms in this world, here in Caelum, are under the Devoc Empire.

On the twenty-first birthday of the crown prince, the Emperor, and Empress will take down the throne for the way of the next Emperor and Empress who will rule over the next generation of the whole Empire.

And according to the empire’s decree, the Emperor must have an heir immediately within two years of taking the throne. And if the Emperor fails to fulfill the decree, he will be removed from his position.

Havoc is the next Emperor of the Empire.

He only has one year left to marry the woman he will make Empress to fulfill the prophecy.
