Chapter 6: Masquerade Ball

Alpha Aspen POV:

I arrived at Alpha Ezra's packhouse right as the party was starting. Once inside one of his warriors tells me that his office is right up the stairs. I headed up the stairs when this scent that smelled like strawberries and crème with a hint of cinnamon.

"MATE!" My wolf Blaze yells at me.

I walked faster up the stairs and the scent gets stronger until I see a woman standing in front of me. She has on this mask that is covered in diamonds and rubies. Her bright green staring at me as I walk up to her.

"Take your mask off I would like to see the face of my mate." I say to her in a demanding tone. I'm not trying to be agressive but I am trying my hardest to let Blaze take over.

I wonder what's going through her mind because she doesn't say anything she just stands there looking kinda shocked. I push her against the wall my body flush against hers. Her scent hits me harder now that we are so close.

"Well mate are you gonna take off this wonderfully designed mask and show me just how beautiful you are?" I ask her and that seems to catch her attention.

She drops her mask and the most beautiful lightskinned woman with honey brown hair and light green eyes look at up at me. I slowly brushed a piece of her hair out of her face and behind her ear.

" What's your name?" I ask her as I keep her body pressed against mine and the wall.

"I am Adeline Simmons. Who are you?" She asks me curiously as she starts to breathe heavy.

"I'm Alpha Aspen Hawthorne of the Hawthorne Bay pack." I say with a smirk on face.

She gasps and covers her mouth. I'm not surprised by her reaction due to my reputation. But for the first time I hated my reputation because I didn't want my beautiful mate to be scared of me. I take a step back from her.

" I know you must have heard about my reputation but I will never hurt you. The moon goddess has blessed me with you and I have been waiting 8 years for you." I tell her confidently.

" I'm not scared of you... I just never thought that the goddess would give me you." She states shyly. Which makes me push her back against the wall.

She gasps and I smash my lips into hers. Her lips are soft and her scent envelopes my senses. She wraps her arms around my neck and I can start to smell her arousal. I've kissed women before but kissing my mate was mind blowing.

Things were getting heated when I hear a growl come from someone down the hall. I break the intense moment with my mate and look up. I lock eyes with none other than Alpha Ezra.

I fix my suit, stand up and say "Well if it isn't my long time friend. What's got you in a sour mood?" With a smirk on my face.

"Why the hell are you kissing my wife?!" He asks with his alpha command.

"How is she your wife when she's my mate?" I ask as I steal a curious glance at my mate.

"Your Ex-wife you cunt!" She yells as she walks around me. I couldn't help but look at her ass in the tight black dress that hugs her body in all the right places.

"Well now that that's cleared up. Why are you upset when it clearly looks like you have someone new?" I ask as I point to the woman standing beside him. That has on a silver dress that highlights her fresh mark with short black hair and blue eyes.

"She's his mate. The one he cheated on me with and left me for!" Adeline says with venom in her voice.

"I might have moved on but I will not allow her to be with you!" Ezra said with bass in his voice. I know he's only acting this way because of our history.

"Well that's not up to you is it? Especially since I leave this pack forever in the morning so you can marry your precious slut of a mate!" Adeline shoots back at Ezra and I can immediately see why the goddess has mated us together.

"Adeline you will not be with him or I will make you pay for it!" Ezra says in an alpha command that would bring most to their knees. Even his mate is cowering a bit. But Adeline stands fierce.

"Watch me!" She says as she turns around and kisses me.

It catches me off guard but I immediately deepen the kiss and Blaze purrs in contempt.

"Her wolf's name is Sage and she says that Adeline is still hurting from what Ezra has done to her but they are both thanking the moon goddess that they found us." Blaze says to me with excitement in his voice.
