Chapter 7: Meeting my mate

Adeline POV:

Alpha Aspen has me pressed against the wall with his body holding mine in place. How close he is to me is taking my breath away. His scent is so intoxicating that it is making my core ache something that I have never experienced with Ezra.

He smashes his lips against mine. This moment is so intense that I start to lose myself in him as he deepens the kiss. Before things could escalate I hear a growl.

"Why the hell are you kissing my wife?!" Ezra yells in his Alpha command tone.

"How is she your wife when she's my mate?" Aspen asks him as he glances at me. I couldn't tell if he was angry or curious.

"Your Ex-wife you cunt!" I growl at Ezra. I can't let him convince my mate that I belong to someone else.

"Well now that that's cleared up. Why are you upset when it clearly looks like you have someone new?" Alpha Aspen asks Ezra as he points at Miranda who is cowering behind Ezra like the weak bitch she is.

"She's his mate. The one he cheated on me with and left me for!" I answer for him with venom in laced in my voice.

"I might have moved on but I will not allow her to be with you!" Ezra said with bass in his voice and he immediately triggers Sage. My emerald green eyes start to glow showing that I'm fighting Sage for control.

"Well that's not up to you is it? Especially since I leave this pack forever in the morning so you can marry your precious slut of a mate!" I yell at Ezra as I'm trying to force down a snarl.

"Adeline you will not be with him or I will make you pay for it!" Ezra says in an alpha command that would bring most to their knees. But I won't give him the satisfaction. After what he has done to me, this man doesn't even deserve for me to spit on him if he was on fire.

"Watch me!" I say as I turn around and kiss my mate. He deepens the kiss which excites Sage.

"Oh goddess this man can kiss. Ezra can kiss our ass." Sage purrs as she basks in Alpha Aspens scent.

"Umm- Sorry to interrupt Alpha but your guests are waiting for you downstairs." Salem interrupts before Ezra could say anything. Salem is Ezra's beta and younger brother. I don't really care for him since he has never really spoken to me in all the years that I have known him.

Alpha Ezra glares at me then turns around to leave. I don't know why he acted as if he cares about me. The audacity of that piece of shit. Before he gets to the staircase he looks at me.

"Adeline you are expected too since this is a party hosted for your birthday." He says to me as he grabs Miranda's arm and descends down the stairs and into the party.

"So it's your birthday?" Alpha Aspen asks me with the voice that sounds like he was meant to serenade the moon goddess.

"Yes I turn 25 today. It's also a celebration for my freedom. Well for me and Sage at least." I say with a small giggle.

"Well let's head into your party. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for us to have our 1 on 1 time. But I want to celebrate this day with you." He says to me as he grabs my hand.

"Honestly I wouldn't mind ditching this party and taking him back to our house." Sage says to me.

"You little slut. We just met him and he could have a chosen mate in his pack. I won't let someone else hurt us again." I say back to her as much as what I just said breaks my heart I have to be careful.

We are heading down the stairs when I hear Ezra on the microphone.

"Thank you all for coming tonight. I know you all are here to celebrate your Luna's birthday but I have news to share. Lune Adeline and I are now divorced. She will be leaving the pack after this party." He says to the crowd as he glares at me and Alpha Aspen holding hands.

The crowd gasps and all look in my direction.

"I have met my mate and Adeline appears to have met hers. So please be happy for us both and help give her a proper goodbye." He says as he smirks at me.

Ezra may have disrespected me behind close doors but one thing he will never tarnish is his own reputation. I have to give it to the slimey bastard, he knows how to keep people on his side.

"Dance with me mate." Alpha Aspen says to me as he grabs me by my waist and pulls me to the dance floor.

I start to blush at all the attention we are getting. We are the only ones on the dance floor and this encourages others to join us. I start to lose myself in his embrace. The way his arms are holding me firm against him and the way I can feel his breath against my ears makes my spine shiver.

"Let's go to my house." I whisper to in his ear.

"Are you sure? This is your party." He says back to me as he keeps his eyes locked on mine

All I could do was nod my head to answer his question. Goddess this man takes my breath away with just a stare.
