Chapter 6: Chapter Six: President Gu's Misunderstanding

People from Morning Star Entertainment quickly reached out to Venus Kellogg. Apart from a few top executives, no one knew that she had been pushed into the company.

A new agent was assigned to her, looking at her with meaningful eyes. "Logically, someone like you wouldn't be able to get into Morning Star, but since you're here, you should work hard."

The new agent's surname was Yang, and Venus Kellogg called her Zona Wyat. Zona Wyat first showed her around the company, giving her a warning along the way: "Everyone who can make it in Morning Star is no small fry. Be careful, don't offend anyone, or you might not even know how you died."

Venus Kellogg nodded, taking the warning to heart. As they stepped out of the elevator, a group of people came their way, led by a man with flirtatious, smiling eyes—Levi Graham.

Erin Ruskin hurriedly brought Venus Kellogg over to greet him. Levi Graham looked slightly surprised, thought for a moment, and then called out her name, "Venus Kellogg?"

Venus Kellogg was also a bit surprised, "Bro, you still remember me?"

Levi Graham nodded with a smile, "How did you end up at Morning Star?"

Erin Ruskin, who didn't expect that she knew one of the company's pillars, glanced at her in surprise and explained to Levi Graham, "She's a newly signed artist in the company."

"Then we’ll be colleagues from now on." Levi Graham extended his hand to her, "Do your best."

Venus Kellogg shook his hand and quickly withdrew it. In the afternoon, she had to go to a shoot, and Erin Ruskin wanted to arrange a new assistant for her, but Venus Kellogg refused. She wasn't used to having strangers around, so she asked Xiaolan to come with her instead.

Xiaolan, who almost thought she would lose her job, was incredibly grateful, "Sister Lin, you’re so kind."

Venus Kellogg patted her head without saying a word. After getting a basic understanding of Morning Star, Venus Kellogg rushed to the set with Xiaolan. They waited by the roadside for a long time but couldn't catch a taxi, and the set was quite far. Just as Venus Kellogg was getting anxious, a Rolls-Royce stopped in front of her.

The window rolled down, revealing Levi Graham's smiling face. "Heading to the set? Get in."

Venus Kellogg was about to refuse, but seeing that she really couldn't afford to waste any more time, she got in. Levi Graham's assistant was driving, curiously glancing at her through the rearview mirror.

Venus Kellogg thanked him, "Thank you, Bro. Without you, I might have been late."

Levi Graham replied, "No need to thank me. I'm just curious about you."

This statement seemed a bit odd. Venus Kellogg turned to look at him, only to see Levi Graham with his eyes closed, pretending to sleep. She swallowed the question that was on the tip of her tongue.

When they arrived at the set, everyone was waiting for the shoot to start. As Venus Kellogg got out of the car, many eyes fell on her, one of which was particularly sharp. She followed that gaze and saw Malcolm Godwin getting out of another car in the distance.

Venus Kellogg had good eyesight and could see the faint mockery in those dark eyes. For some reason, her heart tightened. Malcolm Godwin quickly averted his gaze and held a slender, fair hand.

Venus Kellogg pretended not to notice and looked elsewhere. Before the shoot, she needed to retouch her makeup. Since she couldn't afford a personal makeup artist, she had to wait in line with the other actors for the crew's makeup artists.

After finishing her makeup, she saw Malcolm Godwin. He was on the phone, his expression unusually serious, occasionally uttering an “uh-huh.”

Venus Kellogg took a few deep breaths and walked past him without looking. Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed. The hand holding her wrist was steady and strong, startling her. She swallowed and turned to look at him.

"Mr. Godwin, do you need something?"

Malcolm Godwin's expression always seemed a bit gloomy when facing Venus Kellogg. His earlier calm demeanor seemed like an illusion. He spoke indifferently, "Miss Lin, you are quite capable."

What did he mean?

Venus Kellogg frowned, not understanding the meaning behind his words. Malcolm Godwin's gaze fell on a patch of her exposed, glowing skin, "What did Levi Graham give you?"

Venus Kellogg was shocked, realizing what he meant, "Mr. Godwin, do you think I’ve latched onto Levi Graham?"

Malcolm Godwin didn't answer, clearly implying that he did.

Venus Kellogg felt a fire burning in her chest, making her whole body ache. Her eyes reddened, but her expression remained calm. She forced a laugh, "He gave me a lot, but it certainly doesn't compare to Mr. Godwin's generosity, who even gave me a few million as a breakup fee."

Malcolm Godwin remained unperturbed, his eyes growing darker, "Can he satisfy you?"

"That's my private matter, and I don't need Mr. Godwin to worry about it."

Venus Kellogg closed her eyes, her breathing becoming heavier. She tried to shake off his grip a few times but failed. She gritted her teeth, "Mr. Godwin, let go."

Her eyes were filled with tears, and her cheeks were flushed with anger. Malcolm Godwin stared at her for a moment, then released her hand, somewhat impatiently, "Get lost."

Venus Kellogg took a deep breath and hastily left. Malcolm Godwin watched her retreating back with an emotionless expression.

Just after escaping from Malcolm Godwin, she bumped into Levi Graham. He looked down at the flustered girl in his arms and joked, "Are you throwing yourself into my arms?"

Venus Kellogg straightened up, brushing aside the stray hair from her face, embarrassed, "Sorry, I didn't see where I was going."

There was a noticeable red mark on her pale wrist, clearly from being gripped too tightly. Levi Graham noticed it, his eyes flickering, "Be careful when you walk. What's the rush?"

Venus Kellogg nodded but didn't answer. Levi Graham smiled and didn't press further, and the atmosphere remained relatively pleasant.

In the afternoon, Malcolm Godwin sat next to Nelson Francis, seemingly in a bad mood, refusing to approve any takes. Nelson Francis was miserable, and everyone else was exhausted, but no one dared to say anything.

Venus Kellogg repeated her lines dozens of times, her throat dry. Xiaolan quickly brought her a cup of water. After drinking the entire cup, Venus Kellogg felt a bit better.

She could feel that Malcolm Godwin was targeting her, but she could only endure. If she dared to challenge him in front of so many people, Malcolm Godwin wouldn't let her off easily.

After several more takes, Nelson Francis cautiously asked, "Mr. Godwin, what exactly are you dissatisfied with?"

Malcolm Godwin responded slowly, "I'm dissatisfied with everything."

Nelson Francis: "…"

Miss Bennett wasn't here, and he really couldn't understand why Mr. Godwin was acting this way.

Levi Graham stood up, hands in his pockets, a light smile on his lips, "Mr. Godwin, isn't this enough?"

Nelson Francis, remembering Levi Graham's other identity, felt like he had found a savior.

Malcolm Godwin looked at him, "What, do you feel sorry for her?"

Levi Graham remained unfazed, "I just think there's no need to make everyone suffer."

Malcolm Godwin's expression remained cold, and he turned his gaze away. Levi Graham clapped his hands, "Alright, let's move on to the next take."

After the afternoon's shoot, Venus Kellogg's voice was hoarse. She glanced at Levi Graham thoughtfully. Listening to the exchange between Levi Graham and Malcolm Godwin, she felt that these two must know each other.

Levi Graham noticed her gaze and walked over to her. "What's wrong?"
