The warm morning sun shone through the thin curtains and into the room. Lizzie opened her heavy eyelids, her blurry eyes scanning the large bedroom. He was nowhere to be found. Sitting up, she rubbed her slightly throbbing forehead. She must have drank too much last night. Hangovers really are a pain.

She got out of bed and stood by the French windows. She stretched her long arms, yawning lazily. It’s a really nice day with the sun shining. She smiled slightly, thinking that if she couldn’t choose her situation, she might as well face it positively.

She then entered the bathroom and freshened up. Looking into her closet, she saw mostly women’s clothing, all the latest styles. But the revealing outfits were not suitable for her. In the end, Lizzie chose a relatively conservative, pink chiffon skirt. Sitting on the sofa, she looked at the time. It was only 9 am, but she didn’t have any friends in America and didn’t know the area. She had nothing to do but sit in boredom. She flipped through a financial magazine, turning page after page, but not really reading anything.

Over an hour later, Lizzie came downstairs and found herself in the hotel’s lounge. She didn’t even realize how she had gotten there. She saw a black Steinway piano and walked over. The manager of the café instantly greeted her, “Madam, what can I do for you?”

Lizzie blinked. He recognized her? She pouted, realizing that the lavish wedding was held here yesterday, and this was a hotel owned by the Cold Corporation. It wasn’t surprising that he knew who she was, was it?

But, well, that’s even better. Lizzie smiled.

“May I use the piano?” she asked, gesturing towards it.

“Of course, Madam. Feel free to play. And, if you’d like anything to drink or eat, just let me know and I’ll prepare it for you,” the manager said with a smile.

Lizzie shook her head. “No, thanks. I just want to use the piano.” She walked over to the piano and opened the cover. Her slender, fair hand glided over the keys before moving onto the black and white keys.

Richard Clayderman’s piano piece “The Wedding in a Dream” has always been her favorite and her long-awaited dream. But everything was just a dream. Now, she had woken up and all was back to reality. She played the piece again and again, which attracted quite a few customers’ attention.

Wearing a black, tailored Armani suit, Bruno walked into the café and immediately spotted Lizzie sitting at the piano. He had gone out for a while in the morning and when he got back, she was gone. If the waiter had not told him, he wouldn’t have known she had come here.

When the manager saw Bruno, he greeted him, “Young Master.”

Bruno waved his hand. “You can go now. Oh, but please bring a cup of coffee and a glass of milk for me here.”

He walked towards Lizzie elegantly. Too focused on playing the piano, Lizzie didn’t notice Bruno’s presence behind her until she finished the piece. She turned around, only to see Bruno staring at her intently. She felt a slight jolt and didn’t say anything.

“What? Do you not recognize me?” Bruno asked lightly after a while. Seeing him, was it necessary to be so shocked? She had just been playing the piano with a calm expression earlier, but now that she was facing him, it was like she was a rabbit who saw a tiger. Was he really that frightening?

Lizzie shook her head and stood up, "I'm just, just a little surprised."

"Really?" Bruno stretched out his long arm and hugged her in his arms, "If you don't stay in the room obediently, what if you get lost?" It seemed to be a caring word, but from his mouth, Lizzie heard it with obvious irony.

"I'm not a child anymore, how could I lose it?" Lizzie said bravely, if it wasn't for the fear of getting lost, she would have wanted to go out for a stroll, and she would have wandered around the hotel, not to mention, this hotel is so big, it is estimated that if she goes around a few more times, she will also get lost, right?

At first, she proposed to come to New York to hold a wedding ceremony, wasn't she afraid that she would run away from marriage? Now in the United States, where she is not familiar with life, she can't go anywhere.

Bruno smiled and walked to a window seat with her arms around her. The waiter immediately brought a cup of coffee and a glass of milk.

"I want coffee!" Lizzie pushed away the milk in front of her.

"What kind of coffee do children drink!" Bruno said lightly.

Lizzie glared at him, "I'm twenty years old." How does she look like a child?

Bruno looked her up and down, "If you didn't say it, I thought you were a minor."

He did it on purpose, did he dare to marry her who was underage? Although they were forced to marry, she still had her own ideas. She would not have to obey him just because she married him.

"I, want, drink, coffee, coffee." Lizzie said to the waiter by the side word by word.

The waiter on the side looked at Bruno embarrassedly, but Bruno did not speak like a bystander.

"If you don't change it, I'll fire you." Lizzie suddenly said this sentence.

The coffee that Bruno just drank on the opposite side almost sprayed out. This little woman really had the guts to start taking out the rights of the president's wife on the first day after marriage.

The waiter was stunned for a moment, "Yes, young lady, I'll change it for you right away." Saying that, he took away the milk as quickly as possible.

Lizzie looked at Bruno on the opposite side, her fair face turned slightly red, her eyes narrowed, and her head lowered.

Bruno looked at her and suddenly burst out laughing, "What's wrong? Where did the momentum of the president's wife just now go?"

"I want you to take care of it!" Lizzie stood up and happened to meet the waiter who brought the coffee, "Young Grandma, your coffee."

"I don't drink anymore." Saying that, he trotted out of the cafe.

At this time, steward came over, "Young Master."

"If you have something to do, go and get busy! I'll go see Ruoxi." Bruno also stood up, showing a charming smile, and followed Ruoxi's direction with graceful steps.

Only the waiter and steward who stood by in a daze were left, watching them leave.

Lizzie walked in the garden, and the cobbled path was very comfortable to step on. Her hand caressed her chest, and her heart beat faster. She must have been out of her mind just now to say such words. The damn stinky man is just watching the show.

No! She wants to go back to China! She wants to go back to China immediately! What about a wedding in the United States and a honeymoon here by the way, they have all united and bullied her alone.

However, going around, Lizzie just couldn't find which exit the hotel room was at. She was always embarrassed to pull a waiter to ask, right? Wouldn't that be embarrassing.

"Why did you build the hotel so big?" The little mouth kept muttering.

The more she thought about it, the more depressed she became. Lizzie suddenly felt wronged. She sat on an open-air bench with her slender arms bent and her chin propped up, staring blankly at the fish swimming in the lake.

"I really envy you guys," he said softly to the fish in the lake, with a layer of water mist in his eyes.

Bruno followed her out of the cafe and followed her around until she sat down on the bench and shook his head helplessly before walking towards her.

"If you're tired from walking, go back to your room." Bruno's voice came from above her head.

Lizzie raised her head and looked at him pitifully.

"Aren't you going back? Then you just sit here, I'll go back." After speaking, Bruno passed her and walked in another direction.

"Wait a minute!" Lizzie couldn't keep up with his strides at all, so she could only trot to keep up.

On a sunny weekend, a month later, Bruno drove with Lizzie to the orphanage.Although it was already afternoon, the orphanage was still bustling with activity. Among them was Adeline. Her once long hair had been cut into a stylish short style, making her look refreshed. There was a pure and genuine smile on her face, devoid of any traces of pain. She had forgotten the past, forgotten the pain she had endured. She was genuinely happy.Xu Wan approached them. "Adeline has been doing well during this time."She stood beside Bruno and Lizzie, reminiscing about Adeline's past. "Adeline used to have a strong sense of inferiority because she felt abandoned by her parents. She always wore a mask of strength and tried to distance herself from this place. But who would have thought that after all these years, she would come back completely transformed."

Bruno gave a nod, "Alright, I understand. I'll accompany Lizzie.""But, boss, what about Adeline?" Lycan spoke up, noticing that Bruno hadn't mentioned Adeline at all."How is she?" Bruno asked flatly. Even though Adeline had taken a bullet for him, his attitude toward her hadn't changed."The details are still unclear. She's currently in surgery," Lycan reported, "What if the situation isn't promising?" Given Adeline's critical condition upon being taken to the hospital, it was uncertain if she'd survive."We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Keep a watch on her and keep me updated. Lizzie was deeply shaken by this. I need to be with her." Having said that, Bruno retreated into the patient room.Watching the closed door, Jepan murmured, "Lycan, did you notice? The boss doesn't really care about Adeline, even if she took a bullet for him. He didn't even blink.""I know. In his heart, there is only room for Lizzie. She must be scared after what happened. And if the bullet had hi

The light contact made her feel nauseous from the bottom of her heart.Just as Charles was about to rip off the remainder of her blouse, a loud commotion erupted outside. Before they could react, the wooden door was kicked down. Bruno, dressed in a black suit, stood at the entrance."Bruno," Lizzie cried out in relief. Her heart, held tight with worry, finally eased. She tried to move towards him, but Charles held her back.Charles was taken aback by Bruno's appearance. "Bruno?""So you recognize me, and yet you dare touch my woman."

Lizzie was tied up, unable to move. Even if she wanted to escape from the high-rise building, she was trapped.Footsteps echoed from outside. The sound of shoes on concrete indicated there were a lot of people approaching. Lizzie shrunk into a corner as the door was thrust open, and to her surprise, Charles was the first to enter."You," Lizzie looked up at him."Miss Lizzie, hello. We meet again." Charles approached her, looking down from his superior height."What do you want?" Lizzie was taken aback; she never expected it would be him.Charles crouched down to her level. "Of course, I've been thinking about you." He caressed her face gently, "I've missed this soft cheek of yours."He was ready to risk it all for her. Bruno had canceled their partnership because of her. Charles wouldn't be lenient either.Lizzie turned her face away, "Don't touch me. Take your dirty hands off me." Was this man really intending to possess her? Just because of that one meeting at the nightclub?"Miss

Bruno rose from his seat and walked over to her. "How did you get here? Did you drive yourself?" he asked. "Yes," Lizzie nodded. "Don't worry, I drove carefully." She was aware that her driving skills were not the best, so she seldom drove on her own. "Next time, let me know if you want to go out. I'll come pick you up," Bruno said, gripping her hand tightly. Lizzie nestled into his arms with a smile. "Understood. You must be hungry. Let's eat before the food gets cold. I made this meal myself." She led him to the couch, opened the lunchbox she had brought, and prepared to serve the food. "Nothing beats having a wife who knows how to take care of me and cook such delicious meals," Bruno said, wrapping one arm around her while picking up the chopsticks with the other hand. He reached out to feed her a bite. "You haven't eaten yet, have you? Try this." "I had a late breakfast. I'm not hungry yet." Despite her words, Lizzie accepted the piece of braised pork he held out to h

"Bruno, Bruno," Adeline watched as the elevator doors closed, was he really so heartless? Just to go back to Lizzie, he could abandon her so easily.Jepan stood beside her, watching Adeline's pale face, "Adeline, should we go? Do you need me to carry you?" he teased, grinning wickedly.Adeline was about to respond when Jepan interrupted her, "I might have thought about it, but I don't have the guts. I don't want to be misunderstood by Louise.""YOU!" Adeline glared at Jepan, who had never shown any kindness towards her. Especially now, when even Bruno had abandoned her, he became even more ruthless."No need, I can walk on my own." Adeline hobbled slightly as she entered the elevator, Jepan followed with a leisurely laugh.Bruno drove back to the villa at top speed. Although there was nothing she could do to help, she didn't want her presence to disrupt his work. Before the end of the workday, Bruno had his driver take her back to her apartment. Lizzie had a small meal, her appetite wasn't great. She made herself a bowl of noodles, but only ate a few bites and settled in to watch TV.
