The Day after Christmas

Chapter Ten

On the morning after Christmas, the mind drifts back to sweet memories of familial joy, of Aunt Mary who I wasn't able to talk to due to my friends raucous laugh and Uncle Larry’s delightful mirth. Or maybe it’s a day defined more by the fact that Rey and chloe still hasn’t gone home.I secretly long to be at the mall, purging the bad, starting anew, hoping that next year I’ll be a more grateful person. Or get better stuff . Chloe went home already while Rey went to my room to get ready. He came downstairs when he was done the sat beside and decided to break the silence."Issa!" *THE NEXT MORNING*

When I woke up this morning all I can think about is the date I was going on later that day. I am extremely nervous and I only had a few hours to pull myself together. I started getting dressed .There are clothes strewn on my bed‚ chair‚ and all over the floor of my room ‚and I probably changed my outfit and hairstyle over three times. I was ready super early which left me with two hours to contemplate whether or not I should bail on my date. My nerves started to eat me alive, I wanted to go on the date, but I was scared it would not be what I have always dreamed of.

The day started out as any other day, but I seemed more excited than I'd ever been. My happiness was radiating off of me. Andrew asked, "Rey, why are you so damn excited today?"

"Today," I replied, "Is going to be the best day of my life, I hope.

I looked in the mirror after I got dressed, but I still didn't think I looked just right. So I pulled out my sterling Silver watch, my black shoes, and a Sliver necklace chain that I polished to perfection before wearing. I thought to myself, 'that did the trick'.

After I was dressed I went back into the bathroom so I could brush my teeth and comb my hair. I then went to pick, my date, up. I got into my Dad Ford Taurus and started to drive down to her house. I can remember doing 80 mph the whole way.

When I got to her house I knocked on her door, and one big fella, her uncle, answered the door. This was the first time I've ever seen her uncle, have always heard of him but he didn't come for Christmas He was about 6'5" tall and looked like one mean guy. In a little, squeaky mouse voice; I asked if Issa was there. He said that she was and he invited me in.

"Bella," he yelled, "Your date is here." A faint response came from the bathroom, "I'll be out in a minute!" "She'll be out in a minute." he told me, "Go ahead and sit down." I sat down and introduced my self, "My name's Rey." "You hurt, or touch my niece wrongly, I will hurt you," he said in a firm, deep voice. "O.KÉ It's nice to meet you." "What do you guys plan on doing tonight." "Well I planed for us to go to the cinema to watch a movie then go to the restaurant to eat lunch" "I hope you guys have fun tonight." "Sure we will" Then I heard her call me "Hey Rey" I looked at her direction. Her eyes shined like a glossy pearl just washing on a shore of black sand with the warm rays of the sun shining down on it. Lips of bright cherry red went well with the tight black dress she was wearing. The light hit her just right so you could see every luscious curve of her body. She smelled like an ocean breeze coming in to the shore. Just try to imagine the perfect most beautiful woman you have ever seen in your life and times that by ten fold. Absolute perfection on high heels.

I got frozen as soon as I saw him. He was looking handsome once again.

The more I met, the prettier I found him every time.

He carried absolutely black . I could not say anything for a while. Minutes went by loaded with silence.

‘ What ‘? He asked.

‘ Nothing……….’ I stammered.

He might have understood that it was the charm of his personality but did not say anything further that was quite enough to make me crazy again.

‘Shall we move?’

‘Yup’

He sat behind and we set off.

We got to the cinema thankfully the place was not occupied fully already ,I saw some couples in love.We sat down and watched the movie Dawn Planet of the Planet of the Apes.At one point of the movie, we got tired of sitting so we decided to walk around and just talk and laugh that way. We probably annoyed a lot of people with our laughter that night but it was totally worth it. The time I was with Rey made time go by ten times faster than it normally would. When the movie was over, we packed up and got in the car. It was around Nine o’clock at night, We got into one car and went straight to the restaurant
