Chapter 34: She's Here

Everly moaned from the tapping sunlight against her face. Her eyes fluttered a few times before opening them.

The sky had turned bright and the dark clouds they encountered last night were nowhere to be found.

She glanced beside her and found her assistant sleeping soundly in the driver's seat. Although her position seemed uncomfortable, it didn't stop her from having a deep slumber.

"Mary, wake up," she called her name softly.

"5 more minutes," she mumbled while her eyes tightly shut.

Everly held her shoulders and lightly swayed them. "Mary, wake up. It's already morning."

This instantly woke Mary up. "Miss, the rain has stopped," she said blankly.

"I know. We have to go up now." Everly and Mary managed to arrive at the base of the mountain before the storm arrived.

However, before they could climb up, the heavy rain started to pour down so hard. Left with no choice, they stayed all night inside the truck.
