Chapter 37

After leaving his house, Brian drove back to the hospital to check on Stacy. While driving, thoughts of the look Ryan had given him earlier that day when he saw him holding Stacy’s hand lingered. He understood the meaning behind that look – Ryan was teasing him, teasing him about Stacy. Brian, realizing he was getting distracted, slowed down and parked his car by the side of the road.

“Why can’t I stop thinking about her?” he exclaimed out loud, then rested his head on the steering wheel in irritation. After some minutes, a knock on his car window interrupted his thoughts. Looking up, he saw a young girl staring at him intently. Brian rolled down the window to hear what she had to say.

Frustration evident on his face, he asked “what?!”.

“Um sorry you can’t park here, you’re parked directly in front of our shop” she said then pointed to the bakery behind her.
