Emily didn't touch the food at all, especially when Alex himself had sent it to her. Alex's madness was utterly unacceptable to her. She knew that Alex had liked her for a long time, but she didn't expect that liking to turn into an unstoppable infatuation until he did this to Emily.

"Em ... eat first; after that, you can be mad at me again," Alex said as he handed a spoon filled with cream soup to Emily, who had not been served since yesterday.
