040 Intruded

"Curtis?!" Kitty gasped and the next second--

"Ahh!!!" Kitty yelled and ran back into her bedroom.

"May I come in?" Curtis's voice came through the door with obvious laughter hiding with in.

"No, you may not!" Kitty yelled as she went around looking for her clothes.

"But the door is open, and there seems to be a delicious--" Curtis prolonged his sentence to tease Kitty, and she fell for his trap immediately--

"Don't you touch my strawberry!" Kitty pulled open her bedroom door for only a slight gap and stuck her head out.

"Okay." Curtis smiled and held up his hands as surrender: "How about your flower though, may I touch it?"

"Eww!" Kitty yelled, slammed the door shut and screamed from behind it, "Who says that anymore?! And you are dirty! Get out of my room!"

"Haha, I was only jokin--" Curtis's voice was suddenly cut off with a growl, and loud bangs began to came from the lobby.

Kitty ran around her room for her cloth and headed back out, only to find Curtis was pressed by the wall with Erebus's hand on his throat.

Somehow Kitty felt like Curtis wasn't nervous at all, though he put on a serious face and apologized: "I'm sorry. We are friends and I was just teasing her--"

"Not allowed. Hotel rule." Erebus outed only simple words with his teeth clenched together as if saying any more syllables would take away his self-control.

"Erebus, it's fine. You can put him down." Kitty was a bit surprised too.

"Never again." Erebus stared at Curtis, who held up his hands again as a show of peace before Erebus finally removed his hands.

"My apologies. I was out of line." Curtis turned to Kitty and bowed, very gentlemen alike. There was an aristocrat in his movement.

"Yes, you were." Kitty said with her arms held in front of her chest. She didn't want Erebus to hurt him on her account, but it didn't mean she liked how she was treated.

"I'm sorry. You were just so cute in your... well, pajama, I guess? And it just slipped off my tongue. I am sorry, can you forgive me?" Curtis carried on, ignoring Erebus glaring at him with a murderous look.

"Leave." Erebus stood by the door, and growled in a low voice, not looking at Curtis.

"I believe this is the lady's room, hence her decision." Curtis turned to Erebus and bowed slightly.

There was politeness in his voice, but definitely not fear, and that was rare, considering Erebus was an alpha, and his voice contains dominance, even to non-werewolves.

It seemed to have little effect on Curtis, and that surprised Erebus, too.

Kitty ignored Curtis's staring and went to Erebus. She put her hands on his chest and looked into his eyes. His anger died down at her touch, as if a volcano ate by the sea.

"It's okay. It was a mean joke but I don't think he meant ill. I'll come find you after breakfast, is that okay?" Kitty saw the calm coming back to Erebus's eyes, and it made her heart skip a beat to see her effect on him.

"Call me if anything happens, I'll come right away." Erebus finally took his eyes off Curtis and nodded.

"So, what's up?" Kitty shrugged and stayed by the door. She only knew this man for a week. He was nice to her and all, but he wasn't on her "welcome in door" list yet, so she stood by the door thinking she'll get out if she doesn't like what he was doing.

"Not much, actually." He grinned at her, "I was just checking why my prentice skipped her shift without any notification."

"Ohh... oops..." Kitty tangled her fingers behind her back, "That... is a good question. There was an accident last night and I was taken by a killer so I couldn't make it back, and I totally forgot about shift until this morning."

"Wow. That's a new one for skipping a shift." Curtis laughed, "I only wanted to check up on you. I don't really mind you skipping a shift. I hope you are okay, though? That sounds horrible. But you seem unharmed."

"I'm fine." Kitty nodded, the rest of the story is not suitable for a human, "I'll be back working tonight."

"Sounds cool. I'll leave you to your day now." Curtis headed for the door, "It's nice to see you."

"Yeah... nice to see you too." Kitty frowned a bit at that weird goodbye. It's not like they met for the first time.

She didn't know the reason why she couldn't find Erebus for the whole morning was because after leaving her room, Curtis didn't just return to his stuff dorm, he went to see Erebus instead.

"Why are you here?" Erebus opened the door only to find Curtis standing at the door with his annoying grinning. He was a bit surprised but more upset at that.

There was a second Curtis felt like as if Erebus was just gonna slam the door at his face.

"You know why I'm here." Curtis leaned on the door and smiled.

"You came to let me know it was you." Erebus squinted his eyes at the uninvited guest, "The smell left in the room was yours. The question is, why do you WANT me to know?"

"What was me?" Curtis asked when he obviously knew the answer with an annoying grin on his face.

"You took the note from Kitty's room. What's more, you put it there in the first place." Erebus held his hand on his doorframe BY Curtis's face with the other hand on his waist, "I checked with the maid and she didn't see anything when she put the box in."

"What else did you find out?" Curtis didn't show any sign of being intimidated by Erebus's intruding gesture.

"Well this is a guess but," Erebus pulled back his hand and stood up straight, "I rarely meet people who don't feel my superiority over them, and if it's not because you are too particularly dumb to feel it, it's because you are blood of the royal. Am I right, Prince Charlie?"
