Chapter 49

A few days later.

Lorenzo's POV

I never thought I would be back here. I step inside the beach house with Celestine behind me.

"It looks the same," I say, taking off my shoes and switching on the light by the wall. The place lights up and everything comes into view; the blue walls, the hardwood floor, the framed seascape wall art, the seashell-adorned mirrors, and the view. Jesus, the view. It's the best thing about the place.

Celestine walks past me and opens the door to the balcony overlooking the beach. She leans on the railing, her shoulders tensed. I know her mind is running wide with the impulsive decision we both just took. Personally, I believe in doing something and then facing whatever the outcome may be head-on. Celestine is a different breed from me. I'm sure she's wondering if she took the right step by running away with me for two weeks. I need her to stop thinking.
