Chapter 32: Gamble

The tension increased even more when the twins requested that we sleep in the same bed. Even Lucas is interested and is now on Luke's side. The twins were in the middle of us and we had to hug them both.

"Don't you like daddy, mom?" I swallowed what Lucia said.

"It's not like that, princess." Which is my answer.

"Why don't you hug him too?" she asked again.

I was startled by Luke's touch on my arm before Luke put his arm on mine.

"I love you mommy, I love you daddy." Lucia said. It was as if someone caressed my heart because of her words.

I can't blame them either. During that time we were the only three who were always together. They almost recognize Harold as their father but this is different. I feel different now, especially since their real father is the one they are with now.

A few minutes passed when I noticed that their breathing was deep, a sign that they were sleeping soundly. I gently removed the rest of Luke's arm and carefully stood up from the bed.
