Ch.2

It has been 8 hours since I met Caeleb and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him. I’m not going out to the field today so I won’t get to see him before he leaves. When I took his driver’s license to make a copy, I saw he was only 19. Knowing he is closer to my age makes crushing on him less awkward for me. I have had one boyfriend in my 17 years and it was a very weird relationship. He was the same age as me and was big into video games. We didn’t spend a lot of free time together since he played in video game tournaments and we never did anything a couple our age nowadays does except hold hands and kiss. He never tried to touch me and I was too scared to bring any of that up to him. Thankfully we both felt the same way and ended things without anyone getting hurt. Maybe if I had been in an actual relationship before, I’d be able to handle being around Caeleb better. I don’t want him to think I’m some weird teenage girl who is immature for her age. I’m actually very mature to be 17. Some have even said I am more mature than Aaron and he is 25. When Aaron finally got up and wasn’t being a jerk to me I asked him about going into the field tomorrow and possibly getting some hands-on work done. He turned and smiled.

“About time you get into the spirit of working for the family business little sister.”

“So is that a yes then?”

“Yeah have at it. Get those hands dirty and maybe one day I’ll give you partnership to the business.”

“Thanks, Aaron!”

I washed the bowl I was using for my soup and headed into my room. I plopped down on my bed and sighed. I just asked to go work in the wheat field. I have no clue what I am doing. I covered my face with my hands and shook my head. “Why did I think this was a good idea? Oh wait that’s right, there is a hot guy out there that won’t leave my mind.” I said to myself. I changed into my pajamas and climbed into bed. I grabbed my laptop and found a movie to watch on N*****x. When my movie was over, I closed the laptop and placed it on the nightstand. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

“Yes! Yes! Oh god yes!”

I jumped up and looked around my room for whom ever was yelling. I realized it was coming from Aaron’s room and I gagged. I banged on the wall and told them to shut up. I could hear my brother laughing. I grabbed my headphones and turned my favorite playlist on and drifted back off to sleep. I was startled awake by a loud buzzer going off and realized it was time to get up. I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of jeans and an old rock T-shirt and got dressed. I put on a pair of my boots and headed to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. When I was done eating, I brushed my teeth and pulled my hair up into a ponytail, and headed out the door. As I was getting on the cart to go down the road to the first field, I saw the black pickup Caeleb drives pulling in. My heart began racing and I had to calm myself down before he got out. He asked me where he was supposed to be today and I told him to come with me and I would take him to the field. He sat next to me in the cart and I drove down to the field. As we were getting out of the cart, he turned to me.

“So Skyla, how old are you?”

“17. I’ll be 18 in 3 months.”

“17 and running a business. That’s cool.”

“Well my brother runs the business and I just help out.”

“Same thing to me. I think it’s cool that you haven’t even graduated and are already out in the business world.”

“Well I hate to burst that bubble but I have graduated. A year early actually. I don’t really want to run the family business but I have no choice right now.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

“It’s ok, Caeleb. I know I look younger than I am but I am very mature for my age and this business isn’t what I want to do with my life. My parents knew I wanted to do something else and were ok with that but when they died, Aaron took it upon himself to force me into this.”

“Damn. That sucks! Sorry to hear about your parents. I know how that goes though. My parents died when I was 15.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, Caeleb. Come on let me introduce you to the group you will be working with.

He said none. How can I believe he hasn't slept with anyone? I mean, he hasn't lied to me yet as far as I know, but look at him. He is way too gorgeous not to have slept with anyone. "So you are still a v*i*r*g*i*n?" "As far as having i*nter*course, yes, I am. I have let girls blow me and I have eaten them, but I never went any further. I wanted to wait until I found the right person." "How many girls have you done that with?" " Only 4. 2 of them were from when I was 16, and the other 2 were from before I moved here. Since I've been here, I haven't paid attention to anyone but you. There have been several girls who have tried to talk to me, but I just walked off." "Thank you for being honest with me Caeleb. You already know what all I have done. When the time is right, what if I'm not good? What if I do something wrong?" "Skyla, stop. There is no need to get worked up over s*e*x*. I could be saying the same thing or I could be worrying that I'm not big enough to please yo

After we left the restaurant, Caeleb asked if I wanted to ride around and talk. I told him that was fine because I knew he was curious as to what happened with Aaron and I. We rode around in silence for a little while before Caeleb pulled over on a dirt road that led down to a lake and he turned the truck off. "Ok, Skyla. What happened with Aaron?" "Well, he yelled at me and questioned where I've been. He grabbed me by the arm. I told him he didn't have the right to question me because I am now an adult. I pulled away from him after I told him I knew all about him keeping things that belonged to me from me and I knew about the money my parents left for my first car and about all the other stuff the lawyer told me and I could see he was panicking on the inside and was trying to hide it. I finally got free of his grasp and went to my room. As I was leaving, he was nowhere in sight." "So he didn't say anything after you told him you knew about all that?" "No, he didn't. My brothe

I waited until 1 P.M. to call Aaron. I wasn't going to let him control me like he used to do. I already knew what to expect when he picked up the phone. I was right. He began yelling at me, saying I had him worried all night, and he was so concerned he was about to call the police. I told him to calm down and call off the search party. I told him I was fine, and I was safe. He asked where I was, and I told him he didn't need to know where I was at. That all he needed to know was I was fine. He started yelling again, saying I needed to tell him where I was at. I yelled back at him and told him he didn't have the right to question me. I told him that now that I am legally an adult he has to stop acting like he is my parent. I refused to tell him where I was, but I'm sure he knows I am with Caeleb. As soon as he started yelling at me again, I hung up on him and turned my phone back off. Caeleb asked if I wanted to order something for lunch and I told him that sounded good. We ended up pic

I woke up to snoring and something heavy across me. My heart began to race and I was on the verge of freaking out when I realized I was in Caeleb' s bed. I lifted his arm and gently placed it on the bed as I got up. I went into the bathroom and did what I needed to do then washed my hands and face. Caeleb was still sound asleep when I exited the bathroom. I went into the living room area and grabbed my phone off the table. I had 3 text messages from Aaron and 1 missed call from him. I rolled my eyes and opened the text. * * Skyla, where are you? It's almost 2 A.M. * * * * Skyla, Hello? Where are you? * * * * If you aren't home or if I don't hear from you by noon, I am calling the police and reporting you as a missing person. * * I laughed at the last text he sent me. I don't get why he is so worried about me now. He has never been worried like this before. Thankfully it's only 7 A.M. so I still have time before he calls the police. That is if he really meant it. I put my phone

Once we were inside the condo, Caeleb locked the door. He grabbed me by the wrist and pushed me against the door. He crashed his lips into mine and I wrapped my arms around his neck and began to kiss him back. It was a heated makeout session for a few minutes before he pulled away. He rested his head against mine and sighed. "What's wrong, Caeleb?" "I have to tell you about those guys and I don't want it to change the way you feel about me, Skyla." "Caeleb, I doubt my feelings for you will change after you tell me." "I hope they won't because you are the first girl I have ever truly cared bout and I don't want to lose you." "Tell me what is going on, Caeleb. Are those the guys who hurt you?" "Remember how I told you I lived with my aunt before I moved here? No they are not the ones who hurt me." "Yeah. You told me she had bad habits and that's why you left. How do those guys fit in with your aunt then?" Well, my aunt's bad habit was she was really bad off on dr*gs and

I didn't hear Aaron's mouth after that. He knows I am right but doesn't want to give up his control over me. It didn't surprise me that he forgot my birthday. Since our parents died, I have had to remind him every year that it was my birthday. I was so frustrated with Aaron that I didn't want to be at the house at the moment. I walked out of my room and straight out the door. I didn't care if he was yelling at me asking where I was going. I am now an adult and I don't have to answer to him anymore. I walked down the road and when I got to the first red light coming into the town, I stopped. I looked around and tried to figure out somewhere to go. I decided to head to the little coffee shop down the street. I walked in and ordered a blueberry bagel and a coffee. When my order was ready, I went and sat down at a table and began eating. When I finished my bagel and coffee, I didn't know where else to go after I was ready to leave the coffee shop. I thought about going further into town a
