I woke up this morning with a migraine. Aaron doesn’t care that I have to be up this early for work. Since he is the boss he can stay up as late as he wants and party. I hate that it’s come to me working for my brother. After taking some medicine for my head, I hopped in the shower and got ready to start the day. It has been 8 hours since I met Caeleb and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him. I’m not going out to the field today so I won’t get to see him before he leaves. When I took his driver’s license to make a copy, I saw he was only 19. Knowing he is closer to my age makes crushing on him less awkward for me. I have had one boyfriend in my 17 years and it was a very weird relationship. He was the same age as me and was big into video games. We didn’t spend a lot of free time together since he played in video game tournaments and we never did anything a couple our age nowadays does except hold hands and kiss. I introduced Caeleb to the guys he would be working with and asked Sal what there was for me to do. He gave me some gloves and told me I was going to be paired with Caeleb moving the wheat bales. I just love how none of the guys who work for my family business let me run the machine. It's not like I am new at this. I have used it plenty of times before my parents died. After work, Caeleb and I headed back to the house and he walked over to his truck to leave. I looked around and saw that Aaron and Jenna still weren’t home. I wasn’t ready for him to leave so I did something crazy and yelled out to him. “Caeleb, you want to stay for dinner?” “I don’t want to cause any problems for you, Skyla.” “You won’t. I don’t like when Aaron stays gone all day and his girlfriend isn’t here either. Knowing them they probably won’t be home until after midnight.” “I don’t know if I should. I had a weird night last night. Aaron and Jenna didn’t come home until early this morning but what was so weird about my night was, I kept dreaming about Caeleb. These weren’t just normal crush dreams. They were dirty. I may have only had 1 boyfriend and never did anything with him but I know about sex and other sexual things. I have never had a dream like this before so it kind of freaked me out at first and I kept waking up but after the first 3 dreams I didn’t wake up as quickly or as much. The last dream I had before getting up this morning was the dirtiest. Things happened in that dream that I never would have thought was possible and it made me blush replaying it in my head. It’s been a month since Caeleb started working for the company and I’ve enjoyed being out in the field as his partner. I still haven’t spoken to my brother but I knew he wouldn’t apologize for the hurtful things he said. Jenna told me she has been trying to get him to say he was sorry but he is stubborn and won’t budge. It’s ok though. One day when he finally grows up and wants something to do with me, he is going to look back and realize how bad the things he said hurt me and he will know why I don’t want to be part of his life. 2 more months until my birthday and I hope these next 8 weeks go by fast. I can’t wait to get out of here. I have been looking for a place of my own since I have a good bit of money saved up as of right now. I have also been looking at the job openings that are close to the places I’ve looked at. I’ve found 3 jobs near 2 of the houses I’ve looked at. It has gotten dark and I know I should go home to face Aaron but I don’t want to. I can’t go home right now because if I do, I will probably blow up on him and me doing that will get Caeleb fired. I reached into my pocket to check the time and realized I left it on the cart. I need to go back to get it. I sighed as I got up to climb down. I slowly walked through the woods back to the stream. I crossed back over it and went through the field. I could see the house in the distance and there weren’t any lights on. “Good. He is either not home or asleep.” I thought to myself. I passed by the driveway and the cart wasn’t there. It must still be at the field. I walked down the road and saw the cart still sitting there. I looked all around the cart but it wasn’t there. Did I leave it out by the tree? Aaron wasn't up this morning when I got up for work. I'm glad he wasn't because I'm sure I would have said something about him threatening Caeleb. I made myself an egg sandwich and a glass of orange juice. When I finished my sandwich, I headed out to the field. It was going to be hard for me not to want to talk to Caeleb like we've been doing but I know have to hold back so he doesn't lose his job. When I got out to the field Caeleb was already standing out by the wheat bales. I headed over to him and nodded. He nodded back at me and we began working. Here and there he would whisper to me while he had his head down and I had to keep from reacting to what he was saying.
