Chapter 7 You Are My Fiancée

That afternoon, a group of people gathered at the Brown household.

Lizzie was comforting a crying Tracy.

Suddenly, Lizzie noticed a group of people and ran out of the house.

The group of people was from the furniture shop. They were there to deliver a bed and sofa to Faye.

Tracy got mad because Faye was upset about the bed Tracy had slept in before.

Tracy didn't even complain about Faye's bed.

Faye went downstairs after cleaning the house. She instructed the workers to move the furniture upstairs.

The whole place became very noisy from all the movement.

Lizzie and Tracy both suffered from headaches because of the noise.

Faye used only a few hours to instruct the workers to clean her room. Soon after, the room was finally clean and tidy.

Tracy was annoyed and went to see what was happening. She saw that Faye had overhauled her room, decking it out with furnishings from top global brands.

"Mom, does she really think she's a princess? All her things cost a few million dollars at least!" Tracy snarled.

Lizzie felt suspicious and tapped on Tracy's arm. "Didn't your father suspend Faye's credit card?" she asked. "I'm interested to see how she will pay for all the furnishings."

Tracy said proudly, "Let me check Dad's phone to see if Faye has made her payment."

Tracy ran to Clint's side and checked his phone while acting cute.

She didn't see any information about Faye making any outgoing transactions. Feeling content, she went back to the living room.

Tracy prepared to watch the drama that would soon unfold.

Faye sent the workers away at around 5 pm. Only a young female manager was left by her side.

Faye sat casually on the sofa. The manager reported to Faye, who nodded superiorly.

Tracy was thrilled to see Faye's arrogant behavior.

"Let's see how long she can keep this up. She will be embarrassed when she has no money to pay for everything later," Tracy muttered to herself.

Tracy took out her phone. She was all set to snap some pictures and share them online to expose Faye's upcoming embarrassment.

However, the female manager spoke for a while and left after Faye gave her a brisk nod.

Tracy and Lizzie looked at each other. They could not help but catch up to the manager. "Thanks for your hard work, miss. Why don't you sit down and have a cup of tea?"

The manager glanced at Faye. Since Faye did not respond, she politely declined. "There's no need. I'm just doing my job. Thank you, though."

"Why are you declining my offer?" Tracy smiled and held the manager back. She then asked quietly, "I wonder how much Faye spent buying all that furniture."

The manager gave Tracy a weird glance. "I'll be leaving now since I'm busy. I hope you understand," she said.

When Tracy saw that the manager was trying to leave, she chased after the latter. "Miss, please wait. Since Faye's credit card has been suspended, I'm worried that she might not be able to pay. That might affect her reputation …"

The manager looked at Tracy and said seriously, "Don't worry, Ms. Tracy. Ms. Faye has paid for everything. I'll be leaving if there's nothing else."

Tracy found it difficult to believe that Faye had paid for everything. She wondered where Faye could possibly get all the money from.

Tracy's face turned gloomy. When Faye walked upstairs to her room, Tracy looked at her sinisterly.

Half an hour later, Tracy came to Faye's room and knocked on her door.

Faye was texting Cedric. "You have great taste. I like that," her message read.

Faye had brought Cedric along when she went to choose the furniture. However, she left after taking a quick look. It was Cedric who ended up doing the selection for her.

Faye did not expect Cedric to have such good taste. She was satisfied after looking at her room and the few new outfits in her wardrobe.

Upon hearing a knock on her door, Faye opened it and found Tracy standing there. "What is it?"

Tracy saw the branded limited-edition outfit in Faye's wardrobe. She also caught a glance of all the fancy decorations in Faye's room. It was simple yet luxurious. They were a notch above the decorations of the whole place.

Tracy was jealous. She said sarcastically, "You will be marrying into the Shaw household soon. Does your future husband know about this?"

"What does it have to do with you?"

"I feel that spending so much of your future husband's money on renovating your room is not right since you will marry into the Shaw household soon." Then, Tracy covered her mouth. "Faye, forgive me for saying this, but this is for your own good. If there are any scandals about this, you will suffer in the Shaw household."

"Did you use a man's money to decorate your room?" Clint, who was upstairs, heard Tracy and rushed down angrily. He was upset after he saw Faye's brand-new room. "Do I not give you enough money to spend on your own? What is the meaning of all this?"

"You suspended my credit card, remember?" Faye said with a wry smile.

Clint was speechless. After a while, he felt embarrassed and scolded, "How much did you spend? Return all the money you spent at once! Stop all your relationships with other men from today onward. I won't forgive you if you cause another problem!"

After saying that, Clint sneered. "Now get changed and go to the restaurant with me. We will meet the Shaws in ten minutes!"

Faye leaned on the doorframe lazily. "Are you sure you will bring me?"

"If you want to see the Brown family go bankrupt and not be able to continue paying your mother's medical bills, you are free to sit this out."

Faye clenched her fists as she looked at Clint's back. She never imagined Clint would threaten her with her own mother.

Clint's words completely shattered Faye's last bit of affection for him. Still, Faye only chuckled with a sinister look on her face.

Half an hour later, at Top One Restaurant, Faye followed behind Clint and Lizzie. She dragged her feet into the brightly lit room.

A young lady and a preening young man were sitting inside the room.

"Mrs. Shaw, Hank, sorry to keep you two waiting." Clint, who was always proud, had to bow down and speak politely.

"Mr. Brown. Mrs. Brown. Welcome. Please take a seat." Sherry Young, also known as Mrs. Shaw, stood up with a smile. Her light-colored dress made her look elegant.

"You must be Faye," Sherry said while looking at Tracy. The latter was wearing a yellow skirt and she held onto Lizzie's arm.

The room turned awkward immediately. Lizzie and Tracy's smiles froze. They were rendered speechless.

"Mrs. Shaw, this is my eldest daughter, Tracy," Clint said nervously. He called out to Faye. "Faye, come and greet Mrs. Shaw."

Faye was dressed in a plain white shirt and jeans. She stepped forward and said casually, "Hello, I am Faye."

The man, who had been sitting in the chair and playing with his phone, looked up at Faye after hearing her cold voice.

When he saw her pure and beautiful face, he said with a wry smile, "Are you my fiancée, Faye Brown?"
