Chapter 8 Mom, I Want To Marry Her

Author: Jenny Drake
Faye frowned when she saw Hank's face. "I am Faye Brown, but I am not your fiancée," she told him.

The room fell into an awkward silence after Faye's statement.

Clint didn't expect Faye to run her mouth here. He pulled her aside and warned her, "Faye, if you let your mouth get the best of you again, I'll stop paying your mother's medical fees. Don't you blame me when the time comes. It'll be your fault and no one else's."

Then, Clint smiled. "Mrs. Shaw, Hank, Faye just returned from overseas. Forgive her for being disrespectful."

Sherry frowned. She was not pleased with Faye's casual outfit, but she still politely offered them all seats. "Please, have a seat. We can discuss everything together."

Clint got Faye to sit down before asking Lizzie and Tracy to have a seat.

Tracy couldn't help blushing with shyness as she looked at Hank. She was charmed by his appearance.

"I heard Faye studied design in Yvalia for three years. Hank had a design company there. If Faye is interested, she can help Hank manage the company after they get married," Sherry tried to start a conversation.

"I'm afraid that won't be happening," Faye replied coldly.

Sherry's smile froze after Faye's direct rejection.

Faye relaxed in her chair and smiled. "I'm not interested in managing a company."

Faye had already entrusted her company's management to someone else as it was too tiring.

Sherry smiled awkwardly and said, "It's fine. The Shaw household can afford to support you and your children. Just take care of your children at home if you don't want to work."

"I never agreed to marry him," Faye retorted.

"Faye, try this drink. It's delicious!" Clint quickly intervened. He was worried that Faye might say something inappropriate again.

Faye shrugged.

While grabbing her drink, she noticed Hank staring at her with a sleazy look. Her grip on the glass tightened, but she refrained from reacting.

As Clint and Sherry continued discussing her supposed marriage, Faye zoned out due to boredom.

"You seem to have something against me," Hank remarked while licking his lips.

"No, I'm just really not interested in you," Faye replied.

Hank laughed. "Do you have any idea how many people are lining up to marry me?"

Faye shook her head.

Hank wore a smug expression. "It's not surprising that you don't know. After all, you just returned to Jeorgia. You must be unaware of the significance of my identity."

"I don't really care," Faye said bluntly.

"Faye, it's time you know your place. The opportunity of marrying into the Shaw household is not something you should take for granted," Hank said as he shot Faye a sinister glance.

"Well, I don't want that opportunity."

"How dare you!" Hank's face darkened. He bolted up from his seat. "Don't act so arrogantly! It is an honor for you to have me as your husband."

"You don't have the honor of marrying me, unfortunately." Faye took out a marriage certificate when she said that. "I'm married."

Faye's statement surprised everyone in the room.

They stared at her in collective shock.

Faye waved the marriage certificate in front of them. "See?"

"What is this about?" Sherry could no longer maintain a smile. She slammed her fist on the table and glared at Clint. "Mr. Brown, what is the meaning of all this? How dare you lie to me?"

Clint was so frightened that he almost fell off his chair.

"Mrs. Shaw. No, please. I did not lie. Faye just returned to the country yesterday. There's no way she's married. The marriage certificate must be fake." Then, turning to Faye, he cautioned, "Don't play around anymore, Faye. You are lucky that Mrs. Shaw and Hank like you enough to consider your union. Give me that thing."

Faye laughed. "This is real."

"Faye, even if you don't want to marry Hank, a marriage is not something to be joked about." Tracy couldn't resist adding fuel to the fire.

She felt annoyed after seeing Hank's interest in Faye.

"I know you like Anthon, but he is your brother-in-law. It is impossible for the two of you to be together. Hank, on the other hand, is a brilliant and talented young man. Many girls dream of marrying him. You should understand how lucky you are. If you upset Hank, our family will be in deep trouble."

Tracy continued after a pause. "Even if we don't mean anything to you now, consider your sick mother. If she knows you're causing trouble, she won't rest in peace …"

Faye got up and slapped Tracy. "Who are you cursing now?" She glared. Her expression dark and menacing.

Tracy felt a shiver down her spine. She didn't dare move.

Faye kept her marriage certificate and gave Clint a cold stare. "Stop using my mother to threaten me. Otherwise, I won't hesitate to be ruthless."

After saying this, Faye left.

Sherry was furious and upset as she watched Faye walk away.

Hank, however, licked his lips and smiled wryly. "She's feisty. I like her."

Sherry was taken aback, "Hank, what did you just say?"

"Mom, she's the one for me," Hank declared as he stood up. He straightened his suit. "She's way more interesting than the women who throw themselves at me. I want to marry her."

Sherry was outraged. She took out her frustration on the Brown family after seeing her son leave after Faye. "Mr. Brown, Mrs. Brown, you heard my son. I want Faye to marry him within a month."

Then, she continued in a haughty tone, "As of her present marriage, I expect you to promptly resolve this matter, regardless of whether or not it's true."

"I'm coming down now, babe."

Faye called her best friend as she walked out of the elevator.

"Okay. I'm heading to the entrance now." Lucy stepped on the accelerator immediately.

"Faye …" Hank's voice and footsteps echoed as he followed her out of the restaurant.

Faye didn't look back and quickly got into the car. She closed the door. "Drive! Now!"

"Let's go!" Lucy whooped.

The car sped away, leaving nothing but smoke in its wake.

Hank was unable to catch up with Faye. Instead, all he got was a faceful of smoke. Still, he refused to give up.

He smirked. "What a headstrong woman. I will soon make you beg for me in bed while crying!" he vowed.

"Who do you want to make beg for you in bed while crying?"

Hank froze when he heard the wicked and dangerous voice behind him. He turned, only to see a tall and imposing man.

The man had sharp eyebrows, slender eyes, and a prominent nose. His enchanting grin spelled danger.

"Uncle?"

Faye had made arrangements for Jeorgia, while Cedric started an investigation into what the Anderson and Garcia families were doing. Faye knew that this was a trap and that nothing happened by coincidence. However, she didn't know what the culprit's motive was. She didn't have to wait for long because she received a phone call from Tracy later that afternoon. "Faye, you could've come at me if you were upset. Why did you target Grandma? She treated you well, yet you killed her over such trivial matters. Are you even human?"Faye smirked. "Since when do you care about her, Tracy?""What are you talking about? That's our grandmother. You did this, didn't you?""Would you believe me if I said I didn't do it?" Faye sneered. "Don't think that you can do anything you want just because you married someone rich. Faye, don't even dream of getting your murderer of a mother out! I won't let you. You better come back to Jeorgia, or this won't ever be over."With that, Tracy hung up.

Clark's words only enraged Flora. Eleanor abused Faye when she was a child, which led to Faye getting sick repeatedly. She even allowed Lizzie to go into their home to poison Faye while Flora was at work. Faye suffered through so much hardship at the time and came close to dying. She was already poisoned when she was pregnant with Faye, which meant Faye was born with poison in her body. Though Flora tried her best to counter the poison, Faye was still more frail than ordinary children. Eleanor knew that Faye wasn't Clint's child, so she had always been displeased with her. "Had I known that she's the kind of person who can harm a child, I would never leave Faye with her." Rage filled Flora's eyes. Just as she was about to leave, Eleanor started coughing on the bed. Clark shouted and ran outside to get the doctor. Until the doctor arrived, there were two minutes when Flora was alone with Eleanor. It wasn't until the doctor arrived that Flora found out Clark didn't even

Lizzie and Clint were momentarily stunned, confused by Tracy's words. "I just received a call from Uncle. He said that Grandma passed away and we need to go home."Clint jolted and collapsed onto the ground. "What?"Tracy smirked. "They can't reach you or Mom, so he called me instead. We need to go home right now.""Ha! So what if she's dead? She doesn't see us as family, so why should we go back?" Lizzie scoffed in contempt. Eleanor disliked her right from the start. If Eleanor didn't stop her from marrying Clint at the very beginning, Flora would have never gotten married to Clint. Though Eleanor helped get rid of Flora in the end, she continued to mistreat Lizzie when she finally married Clint. Eleanor resented Flora for being too strong-willed and disrespectful. However, she looked down on Lizzie for not being as talented as Flora and incapable of bringing more profit to the Brown family. She kept comparing Lizzie to Flora and bossed her around. Lizzie remained patie
