Darsh's pov:

I sat in a wooden chair in front of a wooden desk and a man is sitting on the other side of the table drinking his evening tea with the saucer on his potbelly. According to them, I tried to kill my friend and the evidence is the 'keychain'. Fu*k my life.

"Sir, I have been sitting here, for more than an hour. First of all, this is a waste of time to investigate me when someone who stabbed her is still out there", I said causing his moustache to twitch a little for disturbing his time with the teacup.

"Hmm, we will be the judge of whether or not this is a waste of time", he said taking pen and paper out. And started asking the same questions all over again for which I replied, "The keychain is mine, I am not denying it. But, it was with me in the car when I took Kyra to the hospital. She must have grabbed something else from the criminal. This keychain is just a distraction."

I further continued saying, "My girlfriend can confirm that I was home when Kyra got kidnapped and you can check for CCTV footage of the store I have been to and the parking lot of my apartment."

"You can be free when we confirm all the things you just said", he said when I asked if I could leave.

I leaned back into the chair. We came from having brunch and making carefree plans to accusing the other of attempt murder.

Who would have thought life turns upside down in moments? It's freaking me out to sit in this enclosed room when the criminal is free and could attack anyone again.

I didn't know how long I have been sitting here before a voice came out, "You can leave, you got the bail". I went out and saw my concerned parents sitting there on the bench.

Our ride home was filled with deafening silence. I for once didn't mind if they shouted at me or asked what's on their mind. "Why are you all behaving like I am the one who stabbed Kyra?", I broke the silence once we entered our flat.

"There is no CCTV footage that can prove that you were at the store and someone took the CCTV of the parking lot, practically there is no proof that proves you are innocent", my dad said.

"Dad that's not a problem, you guys know I was home when she was kidnapped, I have a receipt for the payment", we can prove it.

"That's not what we are concerned about!", screamed my dad. "What about your future? You know this will impact everything. You are in a police case right now. This changes everything. As soon as this mess is cleared you are going to college you have been accepted to in London."

"I have been accepted by a college right here, I don't need to go..", I tried to say before he shouted, "I am NOT asking, I am informing." With that, he walked away from the hall followed by a slam.

"This is ridiculous, why should I run away when I didn't do anything?", I asked my mom as she had this dreadful expression that hadn't changed since I got involved in this.

"I am with your dad in this. Why give up on your dream college? Does it have anything to do with that 'girlfriend' of yours?", she left me stunned.

"What do you mean?", How does she know? Shit! Shouldn't they be confidential and ask questions personally? Did they do that in front of everyone? I need to check on Ava if she is okay.

"You are not ruining your life any more than this. Do you think this is a joke!? You have been accused of attempt murder damn it! I don't care about your petty love story. You are leaving and that's it!", she said.

"It's my choice! I decide to stay or leave!", I said turning around to get out of there, sick of them making decisions for me.

"Oh, please do decide when to pack your things, we are moving out of this town the day you are out of this case", she said stopping me in my tracks.
