Hannah's POV

What did I ever do wrong? Why do I deserve this treatment? Am I not his wife?

I thought as I fixed breakfast. Hastily adding the ingredients for soup, I picked the spatula and stirred the mixture.

Gosh! He is sick and I am very worried something worse will happen. I don't even think that he is going to drink it.

Reducing the heat, I let it boil for a while before bringing it down. Pouring the soup into a soup bowl, I carried his soup and utensils in a tray.

Standing before his bedroom, I took a deep breath before knocking on his door.

"Come in!" He shouted back. I pushed the handle down and pushed the door. Lifting my gaze, I saw him lying against the bedpost with a computer in his lap. His phone was in between his ear and shoulder as he spoke to the person.

He does not have a freaking shirt. Only a pair of sweatpants! Urgh! Someone catch me before I fall.

I walked slowly, nearing his bed inch by inch. He sighed on the phone before muttering a soft 'hold on'.

" I brought you soup. You were coughing all night. I thought it might help you." I informed, tilting my head to the tray.

" Just place it on the bed." His voice dark and filled with anger. I slowly placed the tray on the other side of him, near the middle of the bed.

" I can take a off day for you if you want," I suggested, cautiously. " No, just go," He replied, picking his phone back up.

Don't you dare cry in front of him!

I turned away from him and walked away from him. I neared the door and turned to him. I opened my mouth to ask him if he needs any medicine but thought against it.

I exited and closed the door behind me. Leaning against the door, I let the tears flow down my cheeks.

I pushed away from the door, quietly sobbing as I entered my room. I changed to my jeans and a button-down. I picked up my doctor's coat and wore it.

Throwing my hair into a messy bun, I closed the door and walked to the kitchen. I knew that no matter how much I wipe my eyes, the tears are going to multiply.

I don't even want to eat.

I picked my bag up and closed the door, leaving Matt to lock up. I walked up to the car to pause and look at it.

" Mrs. Young, are you ok?" Matt, my bodyguard asked me. " Don't call me that! Ok?! I am not Mrs. Young to anyone!" I shouted at him.

He gave a sympathetic look before pulling me into a hug. " Matt, when will he accept me?" I sobbed into his shoulder, feeling his arms tighten.

" Shh, Hannah. It is fine. Everything will be alright." He pacified me, smothering out my hair. I sighed before slowly pulling away from him, feeling my heart pace faster. Tears continued to slide down my face.

" I am getting late for work," I muttered, hanging my head low. He nodded before opening the door for me. I slid in and shut the door. I pulled the seatbelt while watching Matt round the car.

He entered the car and started the engine. The silence in the car was definitely deafening. I started looking out at the scenery going by. It only made me cry harder. I felt Matt's hand on my shoulder, a silent plea for me to stop crying.

As we neared the hospital, I started wiping my eyes with a tissue, drying them. " Hannah, please stop crying. I can't bear to see you crying, Hannah." Matt pleaded.

" I don't want to live anymore, Matt. I just want to jump off a cliff or something." My voice sounded hoarse, my eyes welling up again.

" You promised me you won't do things like that. You remember that, don't you?" Matt reminded. I nodded as my promise flooded my brain.

" Now go and save some lives, Hannah." Matt patted my shoulder. I gave him a weak smile before exiting the car.

" I'll be out here if you need anything." He reminded. I nodded once more before shutting the door. I took deep breaths to ease my emotions and to push everything to the back of my mind.

Once I entered, the head nurse gave me my schedule for the day. I checked when I had leisure breaks and when I had surgeries.

Thanking her, I left for my daily rounds, checking on my patients before heading for my first surgery.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That evening
Drinking coffee had me writing the last report of the day. " Hey, I am going to head home," I announced to my colleague, Joseph Mendoza. " Do you want to have dinner?" He asked politely, getting my attention.
"Umm... I don't know..." I stammered. " Come on, it's just dinner. Daniel doesn't care anyway. I promise I won't let anything happen to you. I'm very good at martial arts, you know" He joked, raising his eyebrows at me
At the sound of his name, my mood diminished into smithereens. I forced a smile and replied, "As if I would let you. I'm just tired, so maybe we can go on another day." I refused.
He sighed before lowering his voice, " When are you going to make decisions for your own life? You can't let him rule your life, Hannah." He placed his hand on my shoulder.
" I can't just up and go, Joseph," I replied, moving my shoulder away from him. " Why can't you? You can move out, Hannah. He won't even object. I doubt he will even heed your words." He objected, pointing out a very good point.
" He will listen to me, Joseph. I won't even have to try to make him listen to me." I argued back. " Fine, Hannah. Do as you want. You don't want to listen to me then fine. I can't force you. But don't come crying to me when you are wrong." He stormed off, placing the clipboard with a 'thud'. I picked up my stuff and walked out of the hospital.
The cold air slapped my face as if warning me the pain will worsen if it was the reality. I knew that what Joseph had said was true. I also knew that there would be no way for me to get him to listen to me.
I walked towards Matt as the door opened. I slid in, still fazed by the fight. " Are you ok?" Matt asked, driving out of the parking lot.
" I am going to move out, Matt." My voice bounced off the walls of the car. The car jerked a stop in the middle of the road.
" WHAT?!" He exclaimed, his eyes widened hugely. " We are in the middle of the road. Move to the side." I warned him. He instantly nodded and shifted the car to the side.
" Why in the world would you want to move out?" Matt asked me, holding my shoulders. I shrugged his hands off before replying. " I can't take it anymore, Matt. I really cannot anymore. I have an old flat. I am shifting there, Matt." I reasoned with him.
" Hannah, moving away from the problem won't solve it." He advised to me. " You do know that I cannot divorce him. He barely gives a shit about me. So moving out seems to be the best option as of now, Matt." I turned fully to face him.
" What if your parents or his parents turn up? What would you do then?" He questioned, his eyebrow arching up.
" I am sure that they have the courtesy to at least inform him or me before coming over. If that happens, we will welcome them into his house." I answered, feeling heartbroken once again.
" Okay, okay. But how will you live in the cramped up place? It is not fit for anyone to live. You cannot possibly live there. Mr. Young will definitely not allow it." He shook his head.
" Do you really think that he will stop me, Matt? Because I don't think so. I had given up on him a very long time ago. The small piece of hope I had disappeared today in the morning. I cannot let my heart break any more than this, Matt. He isn't going to love me. He isn't going to know that I love him. He will never know." I whispered, my voice cracking.
" Well, if that is what you want." He finally agreed. He started the car once again and drove back home.
To the house, not home. It never was home.
We finally arrived in front of the mansion filled with lights. " When are you going to tell him?" He asked.
" Right now, Matt."
    Hannah's POVWhen the police arrested Paul and Louis, exhaustion finally caught up to me. The ambulance had also arrived, placing Paul on the stretcher. Even after everything Paul had done to me, I insisted that I be let into the same ambulance to reduce his blood flow. Daniel refused multiple times but after I hopped into the ambulance, he joined me and sat down beside me. I immediately got to work to make the blood stop pouring out.Daniel sat beside me feeling confused. The other paramedic and I fought against time to stop the blood flow. With the equipment in the ambulance, we could only give him first aid and pain medication. Daniel noticed that I had hurt myself and alerted me immediately. I disinfected the wound and bandaged it up. Once the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the driver and the paramedic immediately brought him in shouting a quick thank you to me.The police car had been traveling behind us and rushed in with the medics to make sure that Paul would not escape.     Hannah's POVBefore I could react, I felt something poking my side. " Now, if I were you, I would not move and just listen," A very familiar voice commanded. I froze just as my captives asked me to. My eyes moved to the rearview mirror and I saw Him, sitting very relaxed. My head whipped to the side to recognize the other person." I believe I have never told you my name. I am Louis, Louis Smith. Now you see, I have a fully loaded gun that is poking your side as of now. Any sudden movements and a bullet will be shot right into your side. Seeing as that you're a doctor, you know how much damage that would make." Louis smirked, digging the gun deeper into my side.I winced slightly, but immediately shut up once a glare was shot at me. " Now Hannah, I want you to pull the car out of the parking lot. Then you will follow the instructions provided by the GPS. Got it?" Louis asked, plugging his handphone into my car and pulling up the address. He also took my phone, switched it off, broke m
  • Loveless Marriage   Chapter 25
    Hannah's POVEverything is definitely not ok...In the next few days, Matt was back and had not left me out of his sight. After receiving strict instructions from Daniel, Matt would park the car and walk into the hospital with me. He would demand my schedule for the whole day and if I did not have any surgeries he demanded that I meet up with him every hour. We would have lunch together with Joseph and Matt definitely had reservations about Joseph because of his chirpy behavior.Joseph suspected something was about to happen because of all the security measures. I did too. Now I was back home with Daniel. One minute I was sleeping peacefully and the next I hear a gunshot ringing through the air. Daniel and I both sat up hurriedly as sweat started to drip down my forehead. Daniel jumped out of the bed and sprinted out of the room while telling me to stay in the room. I had been sitting for a while but the doubt of what had happened to who got me out of our room.I sprinted down the sta
  • Loveless Marriage   Chpater 24
    Hannah's POVThe past few days went by peacefully. I spent a lot of time with Daniel after work. Although I would like to say that it was against my will, I really enjoyed time with him. We would be home and talking most of the time, about his work and sometimes even about his childhood.Daniel would ask about my day at work, but I would reply saying that it was just the usual. However tonight, Daniel insisted that I show him one of my textbooks about medicine. I refused at the start but after all the improvements we've made between us, I pulled out my textbook and let him look through it. His face brightened like a kid with candy.We were sitting in the livingroom, as Daniel flipped through the pages often asking about a few terms that he wasn't aware of. I tried my best to explain the meanings to him and somehow he connected medical prcedures with business tactics. Soon, Brother walked in and also sat down with Daniel and looked through it as well." Well, lucky me. I do not have to
  • Loveless Marriage   Chapter 23
    Hannah's POVRecap: I grunted softly as I tried my best to tighten the knot of the sweatpants, but they refused to stay up.It just had to be cliche. I thought to myself, as the pants dropped for the umpteenth time. " Fine, I will just not wear them..." I whisper-shouted to myself and folded them neatly. The sweatshirt reached my knees so it hid everything that needed to be hid. Especially the scars. Not letting my mind wander. I dropped my dirty clothes into the laundry basket and opened the door, holding his folded sweatpants. It is what it is. Urghhhh...I stepped out of the bathroom and shut the door, only to notice that Daniel's eyes were watching me like a hawk. " Erm, the pants do not fit..." I muttered softly, although it projected quite loudly in the quiet room. It seemed that Daniel had been working on somethings on his laptop. Daniel carefully placed his laptop on the bed and got up, his eyes never leaving mine. " I will go and get some pants from my room..." I stated and wa
  • Loveless Marriage   Chapter 22
    Hannah's POVDo you remember the time that you knew that someone would never do a certain thing, but only to be proven wrong to see them doing the exact thing? Well, that was what Daniel and I were seeing.Brother, or Dylan, had an apron wrapped around his torso and his headphones on his head. He was moving around the kitchen, cooking up a storm, while shaking his hips to whatever song he was listening to. My mouth fell open, my brain refusing to take in such information in such a short time.A chuckle sounded from beside me, causing my gaze to land on Daniel who seemed to be trying very hard to hold in his laughter. However, his efforts were in vain because he started to burst out in laughter. Honestly, I did not know what to focus on. Whether on Daniel's gorgeous laughter or on Brother's weird behavior.I slightly smacked Daniel on the shoulder to try my best to shush him. Which had evidently not worked as he continued to laugh. Soon Brother heard Daniel's loud laughter and turned a
  • Loveless Marriage   Chapter 21
    Hannah's POVDaniel fixed a delicious plate of supper for the both of us. I had not wasted time and gobbled the food down, earning a minute of laughter from Daniel. I was floored by Daniel's cooking skill. When I asked him how had he managed to cook so well, he simply replied with a shrug.Just as we were about to finish supper, Brother walked into the kitchen with a casual look. Daniel noticed him walk in to which he dramatically rolled his eyes, earning a small giggle from me before I sat up straighter. " What do you want?" Daniel asked with obvious distaste." I just want to talk. I will leave immediately if you do not want me to," Brother replied, sounding as if he had already thought of his reply. Daniel looked at me for confirmation as I slightly nodded to him. " Fine. You can talk, but I'll remain here." Daniel stated, trying to intimidate Brother. I had noticed a change in Brother.He seemed to let his emotions out a little more than before. Now, he had a look of relief before
  • Loveless Marriage   Chapter 20
    Hannah's POVThe couches were filled with the bags that Joseph and I had purchased yesterday. Mom immediately went to one bag and pulled out a red dress. She straightened it and held it up. " Isn't this beautiful? How did you manage to snag this gorgeous dress?" Mom asked, looking back at me." Umm, actually, my friend made me go shopping and selected most of the dresses in the bags," I replied, looking away from her. Her smile dimmed a little as she shook her head. " Hannah dear, even if your friend selected it for you, it would still look gorgeous on you." Mom replied, folding the dress and placing it back into the bag." What would look gorgeous on who?" Mother's voice rang across the living room. She walked in hand in hand with Father as Brother walked behind them. I stiffened and took a small step back, trying to get to Daniel. Daniel too stepped towards me and circled his arm around my waist." Ah, Bernadette. It's nice of you to join us. You see, Hannah went out to shop and we
    TRIGGER WARNING: CONTENT BELOW CONTAINS RAPE.Hannah's POVI took a deep breath, thinking about how I wanted to start my life story. I thought that Daniel would rush me, but he was waiting patiently for me to start. " 16 September 1995, that was the day I was born." I started, looking up at him once I finished my small sentence." I'll make sure to keep that in mind and give you a surprise that you can never imagine of," Daniel replied, bringing a small smile onto my face. " It is not an important day, Daniel. I was the unplanned baby. I was not supposed to be made," I looked up at him, to see him clench his jaw."And I have always been treated that way. I was given to a care taker since the day I was born. I did not receive Mother's love or Father's love. Brother was told not to have any interaction with me. The three of them would have family meals while food was brought up to my room. I did try to get some kind of attention or care from any one of them, but the humiliation and sile
