The afternoon light softened across the paddocks. The work continued around them. The dream didn’t pause just because the architect stepped away.

She walked toward Storm and sat on top of the fence with the plate in hand.

Marco appeared with a carrot and apple on a small plate, already knowing what came next. Storm waited at the fence line, ears pricked toward Zora’s approach. The stallion seemed to remember her from before, the way she’d moved with him and treated him. The afternoon light softened across the paddocks. The work continued around them. The dream didn’t pause just because the architect stepped away. She walked toward Storm and sat on top of the fence with the plate in hand. “Hello there handsome what do you think of the place? Does it work for you?” She gestured with her hand. Toward the paddock and back up. Storm looked down at the plate as he saw what was in her hand. More interested in the treats. His head moved up and down with apparent glee. She chuckled and said, “Are you happy, my boy? That’s good. I’m happy you’re here as well.”Storm moved closer to the fence, his dark muzzle hovering over the plate with deliberate interest. He tentatively nipped at the apple first, a choice

The Awakening Project isn't just about stopping fentanyl anymore. It's about remembering what freedom tastes like. “How did we get here? Do we even have the resources to make all of this happen?”The enormity of what they were planning suddenly hit her. Had she pushed too far? They had the resources, but the therapeutic vision had largely come from her. What if she was wrong? Maybe she needed another professional to look at what they were building—someone who could challenge her thinking and tell her whether this could actually work. Val set down his pen. He read the doubt that had crossed her face—the moment fear catches up with possibility. “You haven't overstepped,” He said firmly. “Your instincts are sound.” Marco nodded, already reaching for his phone. “I know a Neuro-Psychologist in Boston. Dr. Sarah Chen. She consults on trauma-informed therapeutic models. If anyone can validate this approach, she can.”Vicki added quietly, “We should also contact the addiction medicine b

Marco laughs—a real sound, rare from him. He points toward the Tilt-A-Whirl spinning hypnotically across the fairgrounds. “That one. We're doing that one.”Vicki groans, but she's already moving, pulled by his hand. Val watches Zora with amusement, waiting to see which ride calls to her. The Ferris wheel looms in the distance, slower, romantic. The roller coaster screams nearby—pure adrenaline.Come on, Marco calls back. “Life's too short for the safe rides.” Enzo trots between them, unbothered by the chaos. The afternoon stretches ahead—two hours of pure chaos before the horses arrive and everything changes again.“Which way,” he asks Zora, letting her choose their next adventure. “I... want to ride the zipper as Marco said; life's too short for safe rides,” she repeats, giggling and running awayVal catches her hand before she bolts, pulling her close for one quick kiss before releasing her toward the Zipper. Marco's already in line, Vicki pressed against his side with mock terror w

Early morning sun peeks through the curtains as Marco runs his hands through Vicki's hair, completely absorbing her essence. Being in the moment to its fullest, taking in each and every curve, line, and even finding four gray hairs hidden in the midst of her red hair. He smiles in contentment.Vicki stirs as his fingers trace her temple, finding those silver strands. Her eyes flutter open, soft, unguarded in the early light. "You're staring." A smile plays at her lips. She doesn't move away. Marco's thumb catches one of those gray hairs, gentle reverence in the gesture. "Beautiful," he murmurs. She laughs a real sound, unfiltered. Reaches up to touch his jaw, stubbled and dark. The intimacy of morning is different than the fevered passion of the night. Rawer. No performance, no pretense.Upstairs, Val's already awake. He watches Zora sleep, cataloging the small details he'll never tire of, much like his friend. He finds beauty in the woman next to him. In the way her breath catches, h

  • Loves Healing Redemption   Chapter 22 Love Beyond the Beginning

For a long moment, no one spoke. The conversation lingered in the hearts of everyone gathered around the table. What had begun as a welcome dinner had quietly become the foundation of a shared dream, one that was beginning to take shape before their very eyes.Eventually, the comfortable silence gave way to contented smiles as chairs scraped softly across the hardwood floor. Empty plates were gathered, glasses collected, and everyone instinctively began helping clear the table, despite Antonella's gentle protests that the staff would take care of everything.Marco pushed back his chair and stood, his mind already racing with tomorrow's plans. Looking toward the kitchen, he smiled. I'll prepare lunch.Several heads turned toward him in surprise before warm smiles spread around the room. Vicki watches him move-fluid, purposeful. Her body betrays her again with that skip. She rises as she says I’ll help. She follows him without thinking. Val and Zora exchange knowing glances as their voi

Marco looked from Vicki to Zora, unable to hide the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. Their excitement filled the room like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. Every suggestion about the upcoming fair seemed to spark three more ideas, and their laughter bounced off the high ceilings, carrying a warmth that had been absent from the estate for far too long. For a brief moment, Marco simply watched them.Zora's eyes danced with enthusiasm as she described colorful booths, handcrafted decorations, and games that would bring the entire community together. Beside her, Vicki leaned forward, already adding ideas of her own, her hands moving animatedly as though she could already see the celebration unfolding before them.Their energy was contagious.Just then, the dining room doors opened.Antonella stepped gracefully inside, her ever-present calm contrasting beautifully with the lively conversation.
