Chapter 36

(Remains on the female lead's point of view)

I wasn't sure how or when did I managed to fall asleep that night. I knew he fell into slumber first as I ended up watching him breathe above my hair, his chest moving up and down with every exhales. 

He felt so comfortable and warm. I had the longest sleep in a while. And when I woke up this morning, he wasn't there beside me anymore. All was there was a small farewell note on the couch, along with two paper bags of breakfast he bought in the convenience store downstairs.

My lips pursed tightly to stifle the smile breaking through. But when my eyes ended up on the tiny bedside clock perching beside the lamp, my eyes widened in panic as I realized I was running late. 

I took a quick shower and dressed up accordingly. I waved good bye to my cat who's watching me curiously before grabbing the paper bags of food on the couch. I don't have the time to eat anymore so I'll just bring this with
