CHAPTER TWO.

LUCAN'S POV.

As soon as I saw her walk into the office, I felt something in my chest and with the way she was looking round my office with a pleasant look on her face, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She looked so delicate and fragile with emerald eyes and a slender figure. With each step she took towards me, I felt my heart beating faster. This has not happened in the past years, all the years I have spent on this Earth, no woman has been able to move me in a single day like this, not even Meredith, my supposed mate.

I am Lucan Lim, a rich business tycoon and the owner of vast companies scattered around the world. Aside from that I am also a hybrid, a half vampire and a half wolf, the last of my kind in the world and the one who never dies. I have been living like this for so many years in my Life and I lost count of the many women I had turned down. Meredith was a stubborn one and agreed to stick with me forever even when she knew I didn't not have any feelings for her.

But seeing this lady today, I felt a spark of interest in her and I found myself getting more enchanted in her charms, the way she looked so innocent and adorable, I really wanted to see her again.

Like the heavens answered my prayers, a knock came on my door again. I know it was her because i already felt her heartbeat a few meters away, it was beating fast just like mine when I saw her.

" Come in" I replied and pretended to be working on my laptop, but with each passing minute, I was anticipating her entry into my office.

" Excuse me sir" I heard her tiny little voice and I looked up and there she was, a few meters away from me staring at me with her emerald eyes.

I quickly regained my composure and looked away, I didn't want to look like a pervert in her eyes.

" What do you want?" I asked in an authoritative manner and I could feel her flinch in fear.

" Sorry to bother you sir, I forgot to collect my payment" she replied in a fearful voice.

" Then why did you run off like that?" I asked again, my brain was already working on how to persuade her to see me again and bingo…..I got an idea.

" I do not have money for the snacks right now, so come and take it from my house tomorrow. It is a Saturday so I will be free".

She looked at me with a confused look on her face, " how can someone as rich as you not have twenty five dollars to pay for your snacks?".

I wanted to smile at her cute behavior but I remembered I had to keep showing her my cold side.

" If you do not wish to collect the money then it's fine by me, just stop bothering me and let me work".

A look of confusion flashed through her face and she seemed to be in a deep thought. I had already guessed her answer and my inner mind curved up in a smile.

" What is your address?" She asked after a while and I was finally relieved. At least I was going to see her again.

" Get it from the reception" I didn't bother to look at her as I answered, she had to think I was uninterested in her.

" Fine then" she answered and turned to go back but she stopped after taking three steps away from me.

" Can I ask a question?".

I sighed heavily,  yes I knew I wanted to see her again but I didn't say she should keep on disturbing me.

" I believe your job here is done," I answered in a Stern voice.

" Actually, the lady at the reception keeps looking at me in a funny way and I do not wish to meet her so can you please tell me your address on your own so I can come and get my money?and be fast about it, I need to go back to my video game now" she said and for a moment I was amazed, she was going back to her video game? I have never met a lady who was interested in things meant for men. My notion against her suddenly changed, was she someone who was close to men? Part of me got a little pissed and I finally looked at her, not with the feeling I had earlier but because I was already pissed.

" If you can't meet with the receptionist then forget it, I have work to do, so can you please leave?" I was already very pissed and didn't want to see her for the moment. This was how I was, my anger always clouded my judgment and it always caused me to make decisions that were not beneficial to any of us.

I watched her flinch in fear at my outburst and I was past caring, I just met her a few minutes ago and she was already affecting my mood, how dare she?.

" Sorry sir" she said, turned around and ran out of the office, judging by the way she ran out of the room, I knew she would not stop by the reception. I made a mental note to just call her company directly and have her come over when I was in a good mood again. 

In frustration I closed my laptop and made my way into my condo, it was attached to my office and was like my second house. I poured myself a glass of scotch and drank it in one go.

" Why was she affecting me like this in just 

one day and why was I angry because she said she plays video games?Was it because I thought she played with other boys?" I was still in my train of thoughts when the door to my condo opened and my assistant entered.

" What is it, xander?" 

" Sorry boss for disturbing you,it is time for the meeting sir" he replied in respect.

" Fine, let's go" I replied and walked out of the condo, pushing the thought of the lady from a few minutes ago to the back of my head, I made my way into the conference room.
