Freya stood at the window, looking at the darkness that covered everywhere. She glanced at the wardrobe where the clothes Alpha ordered the maids to bring for her were all kept. “It won't pass this night, I should get that file.” She thought and closed the curtain. Just then, a voice spoke to her. “Flarry!” She mentioned, letting out a soft smile.
“What is your plan? I want that jerk dead.” Flarry said to her through a mind link. She gasped. “Me too, I want him dead more than you want, so leave everything to me. I can't just kill him off that easily, he should feel the pains I felt all these years and then plead for his death in my hands…just watch and see.” She assured him.Flarry trusts her, she's the best assassin he ever trained. “Just naked sure your identity isn't exposed.”“It's a promise!” She cut the mind link immediately and then walked to the bed. In the evening time, she had left the palace with Alpha's order in the name of going to see a friend and bid them goodbye, but her motive was to take her assassin uniforms. She grabbed them out and made a choice of the one to put on, then she put back the rest. She made sure that the door was locked before she began dressing up. She put on her mask and got hold of her sword, then left through the window. When she reached the Alpha's window, she checked to see if it was locked, but it was only covered with the curtain. She climbed in gently and hid in a corner to be sure he was deep asleep. When she felt it was time to raid the room and get the royal file, she began the job.Pulling out all the drawers of the room gently and checking the wardrobes, but it wasn't there. She checked all the hidden areas in the room but saw nothing.“There's no way it can't be here when he's the Alpha.” She mimicked and stepped closer to the bed taking a good look at his face as he slept well. “Poor thing! I'm still anxious if they're your parents.” She sniffed. The loud growl from the king caught her unexpectedly and made her lose her balance. She was so startled for a while that she had to step back. “What is wrong with him? A nightmare?” She leaned on the wall, not to make a move so he wouldn't be awake. But he was already awake and could see the image like leaning on the wall.Freya watched as he got down from the bed and got hold of his sword, unsheathing it and pointing it at her. “What brought you in here? Who are you?” His voice pierced into her ear.She bit her lower lips. “I didn't want to wake you up, and I couldn't be caught when I didn't find the file.” She drew out her sword as well. The last thing she would do is to speak—that's how she was trained.“For you to have your way in here without being caught means one thing…someone in this palace sent you after me, so you would better surrender before I force you to do that.” He uttered, coming closer to her.She shook her head. “I won't surrender! Never!!” She muttered and swung her sword towards him, withdrawing from her position and taking a fast pace to his back. She grabbed him by the neck, her sword placed on his neck. “An assassin can't visit you and let you go unscathed.” She drew her sword on his throat, leaving him with a deep cut. That moment, Alpha grabbed her by the cloth and pulled her out of his back, slashing his sword on her cloth that it tore apart and dipped into her skin.“I knew it, he's too strong.” She thought and kicked him so heavily on iid belly that he fell to the ground, groaning in pain while she fled through the window. The guards heard his voice and came in, but he pointed at the window. “Go after him! Make sure he doesn't leave this palace.” He ordered them and they left via the window as well.Freya, who was already in her room, undressed quickly. She went into the washroom with the first aid kit to get herself treated first because that cut could expose her if it kept bleeding.“Since the file isn't there, where will it be? His parents might be with it since they're controlling him.” She thought and then bandaged the cut. When he was about to step out of the washroom, she heard a knock on the door. “I locked it, and I'm sure he wants to check on me.” She narrowed her eyes and walked to the door after several knocks, then opened it. She stretched herself like one who just woke up from a sleep.“You don't lock your door when asleep, so the maids can check on you.” Alpha Arthur said to her and she nodded. “Sorry for waking you up, I wasn't intending to, but I couldn't stop knocking because the door was locked.”“It's fine, don't assign a maid to me. I don't need any.” She replied and licked her lips, then took a look at his neck. “You're bleeding!”She drew him into the room and got him seated. “How did you get a cut by this time?” She asked, pretending to be caring. She dragged the first aid kit and began cleaning up the blood.“His swordsmanship is more like a warrior, so I'll summon all the warriors tomorrow and play a game with them so I can find the culprit easily.” He explained. She gulped. “I am a woman, dickhead…and this is just the beginning.” She thought and then bandaged his wound. “I'll take a look at the fight tomorrow too.” She wouldn't want him to tell her, or try to decline being present.“No problem!” He stood up to leave the room and she volunteered to take him along.“The best way to deal with an enemy is both g them, and then petting them at the same time. By the time they realize you've been biting them, you will be done suckling their blood.” That is what she believes in and hopes it will work out for her as well. After she watched him lie on his bed, she made her way out of the room, intending to walk through the passageway and eavesdrop on each doorpost. She passed the first, second and third rooms after her room, and when she reached the fourth, she could hear voices from it. It was a female and a male, and their voices were so deep that one would hardly hear them. With this, she decided to use her Alpha wolf hearing abilities, and what she heard sent a shocking expression all over her face.“My hair? How did she get it?” Her brows furrowed as she recalled when Luna yanked her hair in the daytime. “She wants to run a paternity test with it?” She shook her head. “I won't let that happen. She can't find out who I am.” She turned back immediately to go back to her room.It was very late in the night, so she was against mind-linking Flarry as she thought earlier. She needed to tell him about the file and her hair which was taken so she could get some ideas from him, so she waited patiently, staying awake till the next morning. When she was about to open the door in the morning, she overheard one of the guards whispering to another that the guards were gathered in the palace field and they would be fighting with the Alpha one after the other.“Is he that sad to hold such a thing? What if he ends up being slayed by one of them that hates him?” the other guard asked. She pinned her body on the wall to hear them very well. “Such a thing can not happen, not in this palace.” the guard who began the conversation replied and they went their ways.Freya narrowed her eyes, pondering over their discussions. “Is it truly possible for such a thing to happen? Then it means he has an enemy watching him.” she arched her brows. “I should be there when the event begins
She knew so well that even with the two swords Arthur was holding, he wouldn't be able to dodge the motion of the disguised assassin coming after him. She believes that the warrior is an assassin because his moves are the same as the other assassins that Flarry trains, she's the only assassin under Flarry with unique swordsmanship and Flarry doesn't have full control over her either.“I can not watch you be dead when I've not gotten what I want. I must save you, or my stay in this palace will come to an end and I won't be able to get the royal file.” she stood from her seat, taking on her heels into the field, causing commotions amongst the people watching. Seeing that it would be too late before she reached the field, she drew out the sword of one of the guards standing and threw it directly at the disguised assassin. The sword slashed with that of the assassin which made it fall to the ground. The assassin turned to take a good look at her, they locked eyes but she could sense ange
“Everything will be done at night!!'' That was the last statement she heard before she hid in a corner, knowing that they were coming out of the room. She was still peeping to see who they were and what they looked like. The physician walked out, then followed by a young man with a white beard.A memory flashed through her head. She recalled that face, that beard that was rubbed the moment her mother was stabbed while on the floor. He was the one, the head of the gang group that was sent to murder her parents. It was him, and now he's after her too.“I wonder who he killed thinking that it was me.” she thought and shook her head. “Since we met again, I won't let you go unscathed. We will meet each other tonight.” she came out of her hidden corner and began moving to her room. She has a lot to do. The file, she needs to search for it in Luna's room, and then she has to do something about her background and the buried corpse.“Flarry, “ she mind-linked him. “How do I make my background
The assassin began digging the grave before her very eyes, causing anger to surge through her veins. “I don't care, Arthur, you can do your worst when I return—but don't cross the line so you don't lose your life tonight.” she thought and unsheathed her sword, taking to her heels towards the assassin who already had the feeling that someone was after him.He pulled out his sword and then a duel took place between them. Their swords collided, crossing each other as they fumed in anger, glaring at each other. She pulled back and drew out a knife which she held in her left hand, jumping towards him, and leaving on his neck a slash with the knife. He didn't pull back either, instead, he overlooked the cut and rushed towards her, taking action with his sword and she responded to it causing a clanging sound that echoed in the bush.“Back off!” she said to her. But the response she got was a sudden hit on her face which sent her to the floor. She rolled backwards as he came forward with his
It was past 9am, yet Freya never left her room. She was still in there, lying on the bed with her legs placed on the wall while she stared at the ceiling. All that happened last night was bothering her…first, the assassin, and then the maid. She wants to believe that they aren't spies, but her instincts won't let her think positively. “She recognised me, so there's a probability that she's using then to deceive me.” She reminded herself again. But recalling the conversations Luna had with the assassin before he left the house yesterday, it didn't sound like she was using him, and the maid disguising herself just to save her is proof that they are real.“She knows that it was me? And that I am an assassin?” She shook her head, rolling to the other end of the bed. “For how long now? Were they here because they had to save me? But, if that assassin is real, why is he working for her?” That was when she recalled the last statement the assassin made. “He had done that to save me? What exa
Walking side by side with Arthur, she noticed the way people were staring at them, that was when it dawned on her that Arthur wasn't dressed like a king. She tapped him. “Do you enjoy going out this way?”He chuckled. “I don't want people to know that I'm their king, so they won't stay away from me or pay respect.”“Better for you, because it will soon be known by everyone that the throne is not rightfully yours.” she thought and smiled. “That's okay, to play a disguise for the sake of meeting with people,” she said to him and he nodded. He paused and pointed at the bar. “Let's have a drink. It's been a while since I came outside the palace to talk more about drinking out here, and it will be fun.”She shrugged her shoulders. “I just hope you can stand emptying more than one bottle because I can't carry you to the palace if you're drunk.”“We will pay for a room there, so if I get drunk, I'll just sleep in there.” it sounded fun to him, but to her, it was otherwise. “What about your
Freya was shocked to see herself naked on the floor. She wiped her face, believing that it was a dream, and then took a good look at her naked body again. “Wait! I must be crazy.” she stood up immediately to see Arthur lying beside the place she was. “What happened between us? Hope it isn't what I'm thinking?”She shook her head, trying to reassure herself that it was just a mere thought. She grabbed her clothes and had them on, taking a look at the table that was still occupied with bottles of liquor and cups.“We drank and slept off, right? Nothing else happened right?” she nodded and was about to make a move, but she noticed a sore feeling under her. She stopped and bent her head to see what was going on under there, but she could only see her thighs. The moment she turned, she saw a blood stain on the floor. “Eeeish! This should just be a dream, I'd prefer it.” She laid down on the floor again, stayed for a while, and then stood up but everything was just like it was. “I messed my
The presence of Luna disrupted the discussion Freya was having with Alpha Arthur. She stared at the woman and faked a smile before bowing to greet her. “Greetings, Your Highness….” she tapped Arthur. “Talk to you later, I have to take some rest.”“Why are you leaving so suddenly now that I showed up? Continue what you were saying?” Luna came closer. They looked at themselves.“Mother, do you want to hear our discussions?” Arthur asked. She scoffed. “Are you hiding anything from us?” she gulped and faced Freya. “Where did you go with him today? I searched for the both of you but none of the servants knew your whereabouts.”“Ummm! We went for a walk outside the palace. That's all.” Freya replied, trying so hard not to be suspected.Luna nodded. “I see, you went on a walk with him as the acting Luna right?”She nodded, smiling sheepishly this time, knowing that she was looking for what to use against her. “I will be in now.”“You have no right to leave until I order so.” Luna declared, c
