I went downstairs and I walked around for a little bit before I finally found the kitchen. I had never lived in a house this big before so it was strange walking around the packhouse like this. It was dead quiet and I am sure that I am the only one awake. There weren’t even any omega’s walking around in the kitchen or anything. Which I thought was strange. I thought there would be some here already making breakfast or something like that. I made myself a coffee and I found my way out the back door and I sat on the patio furniture to have my coffee while I was looking around at how quiet it was. Considering how big this pack was, I was expecting to see at least a few people walking around. But there was nothing. It was peaceful and I sat there staring off into the woods. Trying to keep my mind focused on more important things, other than my nightmare. I raised my hand to my face and I felt that there were still marks on my face, so I decided that I wasn’t going to school again to
ALPHA KANE POV I knew that Savannah wouldn’t have gone many places. She was stuck with Calvin for her whole life and while coming to my pack, they definitely wouldn’t have made a fun trip out of it. They would have tried to get to safety as soon as possible. When we got out of the car and I saw the look on Savannah’s face, I knew I was right. Her face lit up like it was Christmas morning for a little kid. She’d never been to New Orleans before. And there was so much stuff to do in this city, I was determined to give her new fantastic memories to try and replace the old ones that she can’t stop having nightmares about. “Come on. There’s a nice little cafe down here where we can get some breakfast.” I told her. So she closed the car door and followed me to the cafe where we went inside and we were the only people in there at the moment. The waitress came over eyeing both of us but her attention quickly moved to me. I guess I would have to say that I was used to it, but I kept my a
ALPHA KANE POV The next place we went to was a shop owned by a witch. A real life witch and Savannah told me that she could feel the power coming from the shop before we even got there. That’s how we knew that it was real. It didn’t stop us from going inside though. And Savannah messed with the shop owner, just as much as last time. The witch looked scared and worried and watched us so closely while we were in there. But she was mostly watching Savannah for some reason. I looked over and I saw Savannah looking at some necklaces hanging on the side wall. She wasn’t moving or smiling or anything. She was just staring at the necklace and the witch was watching her just as intently. I walked over to Savannah and I placed my hand on her arm. Even the sparks that I felt didn’t cause Savannah to look at me. “What is it?” I asked. “I want that.” She said plainly, pointing at an orange opal pendant with a brass chain. “Alright. You can get whatever you want.” I said, reaching forwa
SAVANNAH POV “You’re not welcome here Kane.” The big burly man said. “I’m not here to cause any trouble. I’m just here to have a good day out.” Kane assured them. “Well, our boss said that you can get the hell out of his city.” “And who is your boss?” Kane asked. “Bianca. I believe you know her.” I looked over at Kane and realization hit him the second he heard Bianca’s name. He definitely knew her and I had a feeling that there was a lot more to the story of them two than he was willing to tell me. “This is bullshit. You can tell Bianca that if she wants me to leave then she can come and tell me herself. But right now, I am enjoying my day out with my mate.” Kane said, holding my hand and started walking off. “What if they come after us?” I asked, looking up at him. “They won’t. If Bianca wanted them to hurt me then they would have already. They were just giving me the warning.” Kane assured me. I trusted what Kane had told me but I also made sure that I kept a loo
Kane wrapped his arms around my waist, I could feel his body heat radiating off of him as he pulled my body closer to his so that our chest were flush up against each other. I felt his hands start moving up and down my back and it grabbed onto the bottom of my shirt before he moved them down further and he grabbed me around the thighs and picked me up, so I wrapped my legs around his waist. He turned around so that I was pressed up against the glass doors that led to the balcony and he started kissing down my jawline and down my neck. He found my marking spot, making me moan out loud and then he moved back up to my mouth. He licked his tongue along my lips, asking for entry which I gladly granted him and our tongues started dancing with each other. He turned around and started walking back into the room and he slowly laid me down on the bed and he laid on top of me. With his arms on either side of me, to carry some of his weight. His hand started moving up my waist and further
When I woke up the next morning, the hot sun was shining through the glass doors and I could feel Kane’s arm was still wrapped around me. I tried not to wake him up but I turned out and he was laying there staring at me. “Morning.” I said. “Morning. How did you sleep?” He asked. “Better than I have in a long time.” “I’m glad to hear it.” He said. “So, have you got any more surprises for me today?” I asked. “Well, there’s only breakfast but then we have to get back. I’ve got meetings this afternoon. Alpha business.” He said. “Of course. The Alpha never gets a break.” I smirked. And he leaned over and kissed me. We both got up and got dressed and headed to the restaurant in the hotel to have breakfast and then we had to go back to the pack. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave. I liked the little bubble that Kane and I had been in since yesterday morning. There was no pack business, no one else interfering in our lives, no one watching us suspiciously because no one back
KANE POV I only had a couple of meetings that afternoon and I was glad to get them over and done with. I wanted to hurry up and get back to the packhouse and surprise Savannah with a really nice dinner. She hasn’t seen my cooking skills yet and I am excited to see how she reacts. She hasn’t seen her friends in a couple of days so she’ll probably be at Malia’s for a while. No doubt gossiping like teenage girls do. I wonder if she’ll tell Malia about me being her mate. Or if she’s wanting to keep that to herself for now. I don’t mind either way. I just need to make sure when she comes home so I don’t accidentally tell people if she doesn’t want me to. As soon as I walked into the packhouse I was hit with this really strong aroma. It was really familiar to me. I knew that perfume. I was very familiar with it and I stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I closed the door. Oh no. This can’t be happening. This really can’t be happening now. I followed the scent to the living room a
I ran back to the bedroom and I grabbed my shirt. I ordered all of my warriors to meet me out the front of the packhouse. I grabbed a map of the town and I started marking where all of her friends lived. Including Asher. If she thought that something happened between myself and Kora then she could be looking to get back at me. I mind linked Malia and I told her to get all of their friends from school and come to the packhouse as well. I needed to make sure that everyone was out looking for her. She had to come back so I could explain myself. Nothing happened with Kora. Well, next to nothing. And I needed Savannah to know that she was the only one for me. I can’t live without her. It didn’t take long for everyone to get to the packhouse and they all gathered out the front wondering what was going on. They were asking if we were under attack because of the tone in my voice. “Attention. We are not under attack. Some of you know the new girl that just arrived at the pack. Her na
