Amalthea's POV

"This is where I come to whenever I want to look at my pack and remind myself that everything I'm doing is worth it," Nic explained to me as we sipped our wine. We had just finished a sumptuous dinner and we had decided to recline against the couch and just talk. It was relaxing and surprisingly easy to talk to Nic and I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened, where we would have been right now if I had accepted Nic's rejection.

"What's on your mind?" Nic asked me and my eyes snapped up to his.

"I don't know, I'm just wondering what would have happened if I had accepted your rejection...we definitely wouldn't be here right now." I commented and Nic gave a pensive smile.

"I'm glad you didn't accept my rejection," Nic murmured as he caressed my hand with his thumb.

"I was a fool Thea, such a fool to think I could fight this." He continued and my heart warmed.

"Yeah, you were." I teased and he playfully pinched me.
