Amalthea's POV
"How was your training with Nic today?" Mikayla asked as I walked out of the library."Alright, I think we are making progress." I shrugged and it was true. After the first disastrous day we had at training, Nic and I had decided to focus on my combat and slowly ease into training my wolf to avoid any repeats."Are you guys done though? I saw Nic heading towards the words and I thought you would be going with him," she informed me and my brows creased for a second.Nic had told me he would be cooped up with work in his office for the next few hours....had he lied to me?"Thea?" Mikala called out to me, dragging me out of my thoughts."Yeah, yeah right. I almost forgot about that, thanks." I said as I walked past her and made my way out of the pack house. I wasn't going to wait around to ask Nic so he could deny it, I was going to see where he was going for myself.I made my way towards the woods, silently hoping I wouldn't get lost inNicholson's POV "The great Lycan king visits my coven, I must be about to die." A voice said before it followed with a chuckle."Don't be dramatic Freda," I rolled my eyes as the witch smirked at me."To what do I owe the pleasure Nicholson? The last time I saw you, you were a little boy." The woman said as she walked towards me with the aid of her wooden walking stick."I need your help, I need answers." I informed her and her brows shot up."Desperate times must indeed call for desperate measures," the old woman chuckled."Follow me," she announced and I followed awkwardly behind her as she led me towards her garden."My lilies are dying, no matter how much I water them." The woman muttered more to herself than to me."These squirrels are always causing trouble this time of the year but I just don't have the heart to kill them," she continued and for a moment I wondered if I was in the right place. Freda was a witch whose coven had had a peace pact with my pack ever since I was a c
Nicholson's POV "Does Thea know where you are going?" Callum asked me and I sighed."She doesn't need to know and you won't say a word," I gave him a pointed look and he sighed as he rubbed a palm over his face."You are always putting me in a position to lie to her," he complained and I rolled my eyes at his dramatics."You forgot to mention you always get caught," I pointed out."Well I'm not a good liar," he replied with a shrug and I sighed."It doesn't matter anyways, just tell her you don't know where I am if she asks Callum. Don't tell her any other thing," I announced and he gave me a brisk nod. With that, I turned and made my way out of the pack house. The last thing I wanted to do was leave Thea especially now that I knew she was feeling down but it was necessary. I had to get to the bottom of whatever was going on before Thea got seriously hurt.Anger bubbled within me as I recalled how my pack membe
Amalthea's POV "The seer was right, there is something off about her." I heard someone whisper as Nic and I walked out of the pack house."She suddenly dyed her hair white," another said and I turned to them but they turned away from me.What the hell was going on?"Nic?" I called out to him as I intertwined our fingers."What's wrong?" He asked as he stared down at me."Can't you hear the whispers?" I asked him just as another person murmured something."Why is Alpha Nicholson letting her stay here?"Nic turned to the voice and quirked his brow and the two women bowed immediately."Is there anything you'd like to tell me?" Nic asked but the women shook their heads.Nic glared at them before he turned and dragged me out of the pack house."What do you think that was about?" I asked."I don't know," Nic shrugged as Callum appeared before us."Are you alright Thea?" Callum asked as h
Amalthea's POV "You are what?" I stared at Jade in shock as she beamed at me. I looked from her face to her stomach, wondering if she was pranking me."If this is a joke I'm not going-" I began."I'm not joking, Thea, I'm pregnant." She assured me and I squealed in delight as I wrapped my hands around her."Wait wait, we don't want to squeeze the life out of the baby now do we?" I backed away from her and she rolled her eyes at me."Seriously Thea?" She quirked an unimpressed brow at me."Well I am a concerned aunt," I shrugged with a grin."But Jade, this is amazing. When did this happen?" I questioned as I stared at her stomach as if I expected a baby to jump right out."I don't know, I don't know but Andrea was so excited when I told him Thea. I'm going to be a mom," she commented but I noted something amiss in her tone."Is everything alright?" I inquired and she shrugged."Am I such an open bo
Amalthea's POV I crumbled to the floor but before I could reach, Nic's arms wrapped around me and he pulled me to him."Are you alright?" He asked and I nodded against his chest."I'm fine, just cold." I informed him and he swept me off my feet."What are you doing?" I asked as he began walking the way we came."You are burning up, training is over. We'll continue from where we left off another day," He informed me as I shivered against him.My eyes were dropping and I felt myself slowly losing consciousness."Thea, hey stay with me." Nic called out to me but his voice felt distant."What's happening to me Nic?" I muttered as I stared at my fingertips which were still glowing."I don't know but you are going to be alright," he assured me as we reached the pack house and Nic rushed me to his room."Nic what's wrong?" I heard Callum ask at the door."Get the pack doctor Callum, now!" Nichols
Nicholson's POV "Can you stop staring at me like that?" I asked as I dropped the file I was reading on my table."What? I'm just concerned about your well-being," Mikayla shrugged from across the desk."I'm fine and I'm not a child so all of you should stop fuzzing over me," I gritted out."Who else is fuzzing over you?" She asked with a quirky brow and I shook my head."Is there a particular reason you are here?" I asked."You just managed to escape death and I was worried sick about you but I also knew I had to give you some space and now that I'm here to make sure you really are alright you ask me what I'm doing here?" Mikayla stared at me in disbelief and I sighed."You are right, I'm sorry." I ran a hand over my face."It's just been a lot since I woke up and honestly I'm trying to fall back into my routine but that is not an excuse. I'm sorry for being so callous and thank you for your care," I told her truthf
