Nicholson's POV

"I found it, I found it." Clara announced as she ran towards me and I froze as I watched her approach. Did I dare hope it was what I thought it was?

She knelt down in front of me and pulled out a neatly folded handkerchief which she opened to reveal a herb covered in mud.

My hands shook as I silently brought out the sketch of the herb and true to Clara's words it was the herb. I stared from her to the herb, unsure what to do, how to feel before I stared down at my mud covered body.

After two long days of searching through the werebear pack and nearly giving up, here the herb was, staring back at me.

"Alpha Nicholson?" Clara called out to me hesitantly and before I could process what was happening I pulled her into my arms and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you, thank you so much." I kept on whispering into her ear and although she didn't hug me back and I felt how stiff she was, I didn't care. I was grateful beyond measure and at this moment words failed me.
