And like that, everyone made way as Aiden who was almost staggering due to how much drinks he had had today was guided to his room, everyone expectant and waiting for the results.

I took a glance at Laura, who was sat confidently, sipping on her drinks. I took a glance at Ariana and she looked a bit tense but also relaxed. Hmm, seems those two thought they're on the list of his possible mates.

Laura, yes. Ariana, hmm, don't know. If the moon goddess prophecy is true, which always is, his mate will strengthen him to the best of his capability and he definitely needed a strong mate for that and not some 'weak' omega. Ariana was far from weak, but she was still an omega nonetheless. She couldn't be, neither could I. And just like that, I had given up on my hopes to ever be with Aiden, nor become his mate.

Soon, I shall find my mate, I would be free of this weird one-sided feeling. I sighed as I took another sip of my juice. I needed something stronger, I needed to leave this place or jave a drink. I can't do neither. It would be weird and wrong of me not to support my best friend on such an important day.

But still, I needed to get out of here, this place was suffocating.

And so, I walked out. It's fine, I still have enough time. I would still find my mate and maybe then I would find my wolf. A werewolf without a wolf was hollow, and that was how I always felt inside, a hollow empty shell.

I was weak enough being an omega, it was worse that I didn't have a wolf.

If I did, would she be okay with me being in love with my best friend, I doubt. She would probably resent me and scold me for that, moreover, she would want no one but her mate.

I sighed and leaned against the pole. I was sat in the front yard which was almost empty now. Everyone were mostly inside now, partying while waiting for their future Alpha to wake up and announce who his mate was.

And so I stared into the dark, the loud music drowning my sadness and I fell into a trance.

*Aiden's POV*

I slumped to the bed immediately and the omegas pulled the duvet over my head. I'm drunk but not too drunk to understand what was going on. I'm supposed to sleep now and let my wolf take over, and so I did, and I fell into a trance immediately.

Where am I? I asked myself as I woke up in a room- world? Everything was white and blurry, I couldn't see anything but when I stepped further. A new different world appeared in a second.

It was me.. and.. Her- my mate? I can't see her face, it's blurry.

I moved over and slowly brought my hands, trying to grip the- her? I could feel her, she's real?

She turned with a blurry smile, one I could recognize in a heartbeat. I knew who that smile belonged too. No one else smiled like that, the little cut below her lips. It can't be.

"A..ri..Ari..Arielle?" I called out and her smile fell, slowly, irking me out.

"Wh..who?" And then she spoke.

"It's me, Aiden" She said. Arielle? That was her voice, I could feel her. I could recognize her voice. I could recognize this voice from miles away. It's her.. Arielle, she's my mate? I..

"Aiden.." She called, and this time the blur around her face slowly faded and before I could get a good look at her face, everything vanished.

What? What just happened? I thought I was just .

"Aiden.." An unfamiliar voice called from behind, I turned and it was her.. again. But this time around, dressed in a pink ball gown. Pink?

Arielle, it was her. "Arielle?" I called. This time, she shook her head. Then my eyes fell on her lips, pink.. no. There's no cut. I raised my brows and she smiled, and then everything vanished. I woke up to life and a howl escaped from my lips, the whole building shook.

I felt the heat rush me, my eyes and chest burning, I got up at once. I practically skipped out of my room, everyone was now rushing over to me, they must have heard my howl.

"Aiden.." My dad called, and a gasp erupted from my mom's lips.

I caught a glance at the nearest mirror. My eyes.. red, but I couldn't't see, everything was blur and red. I needed to see her, my mate.

"Where's she?!" My wolf, Allitis growled in my head.

I couldn't even reply, I wasn't myself, hazy drowsy.

"Everyone move out of the way, the alpha prince is about to find his mate!" That was my dad's voice through the speaker, and everyone did so. That didn't help, I kept pulling and sending everything flying.

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" My wolf screamed and danced in my head impatiently.

And then she came out, from a corner. "Ari..Arielle.." I called out, my eyes now becoming clearer. Her brows raised, confused. I dragged my feet, each step, slow and calculated. Everyone gasped.

"It's her.."

"Oh my god.."

I saw her expression change at once. She must feel it too. Dark, shock, confusion all over her face.

"Mate! Mate!! Mate" Allitis danced in my head.

And then I stopped, my feet unmoving, I couldn't move.

"What's going on?"

"What's happening?"

"Is he going to reject her?"

"Of course, he probably will. She's a weak omega. "

"The moon goddess must have made a mistake with her"

"Why can't I move?" I asked my wolf, my eyes still on Arielle, who now looked.. scared. Does she think I would actually reject her? I would never..

"Mate!" Allytis suddenly screamed and my feet moved involuntarily, and there she was, just heading out of the bathroom, in a .. pink ball gown, no cut on her lips.

It was Ariana, she was my mate. A gap escaped her lips, she must have felt it too. Allytis jumped in my head, dancing and screaming "She's our mate!"
