5. Transformation

Arystyn could not believe that they had found Julianne so quickly! She wanted to run in and wrap her arms around Jules and show her that she was alive but Alex said she couldn't show herself until she learned to control when she shifted. Now she knew Jules was ok she could do anything she had to to keep her safe.

For the next 2 days, Alex worked with Arystyn to help her learn self-control in preparation for the upcoming full moon transformation. She wasn't completely ready and would have to be shackled with iron chains to ensure the safety of herself and others when the full moon was at its peak but at least she was somewhat better prepared.

Arystyn had eaten four raw steaks as Alex had told her the urges would not be as strong when she shifted if she wasn't hungry.

Arystyn had never felt so much pain in her life! Her body began to twist and contort as the moon took over her body. the pain struck, beginning at her fingertips and quickly spreading all over, each bone breaking, piece by piece, and rearranging to accept the wolf.

Alex was entering the room when he saw her naked with her clothes ripped in pieces hunched over, dripping in sweat, Once her canines appeared, he backed off and let the transformation take its toll. Arystyn could feel the rage inside of her wanting out! All she wanted was to rip into flesh but she knew that she had to control it. At last, all her energy was spent and she collapsed on the floor.

A week later Arystyn told Alex she wanted to go for a walk but promised to be back in an hour. He told her he thought it was a bad idea but not to go far. She had to see Jules! She missed the closeness they had shared for so many years.

She watched as Julianne’s car pulled away from the curb. She hailed a cab and followed at a safe distance until she saw Julianne’s car stop in front of an old run-down warehouse. Arystyn watched as Julianne ran inside to get out of the cold. Arystyn ducked inside and looked around to make sure nobody saw her as she slipped in the door. The street was empty.

Arystyn could hear the voices from the room down the hall, she still hadn’t gotten used to the acceleration of the sounds heightened by the wolf inside her.

She could hear Julianne’s voice as plain as day, “ I’m telling you I saw her!” “She’s not dead!” Then Arystyn heard an all too familiar voice, “there is no way her little pansie ass is alive I made sure her drink was laced with wolf’s bane so she would not turn but that she would die!” Arystyn’s blood ran cold as she recognized the voice of Darian.
