LOGINWhat did you think of Karissa's POV?
Ambrose POVI’m fucking furious. The first person we encountered was a guard who thought I was throwing my mate away. This pack has been programmed to abuse one person, and that person is the rightful heir. No wonder in Neriah’s past life, no one watched over her. No wonder she was so easy to kill.So help me, Moon Goddess, if the council dares to look down on her in front of us. I will not let it go. There will be a bloodbath. We drove past the pack house. Neriah looked at it with sad eyes. It could have been a place with good memories of her childhood – of a loving family. Instead, much to my disappointment, it was her cage. I am sure she doesn’t have even a handful of good memories there. I don't blame her for looking sad as we drive through this place.Once we arrived at the council, we saw two council members, her asshole father, and her stepmother. Regina is already looking at Neriah with contempt the moment we step out of the car. Kral growls at Regina, but I cut him off.‘She
Neriah POVAmbrose and I went to the palace legal team. This place is huge. It’s not just a place to live. There are departments here as well. The palace, as Ambrose showed me, is made up of three connected buildings. The main building is the home, but building two is for legal, medical, human resources, and finance departments for all palace personnel. The third building is staff quarters for any palace workers that live on palace grounds. Then there are warrior barracks, complete with a weapons depot, and garages with mechanics who are constantly working on anything with an engine. If I wanted a day of cardio, I would only need to walk the grounds and get all my steps in. It’s wild how huge this place is, and Ambrose treats it like it’s everyday normalcy. I guess it is for him, but this is definitely not normalcy for the rest of the realm.“Jared, I would like for you to accompany your future queen and me to Moon Heart. We need to speak with the council there, and we also need to ge
Neriah POVI’m shocked by the question. Ambrose didn’t even know about the Navy Wolf. I caught my breath slightly. That was definitely not what I expected her to say.“Yes,” I replied. “Her name is Nila.”“I should like to meet her,” Helena asked. This time her eyes were livelier. Ambrose wasn’t haven’t any of it, though.“No. Nila is beautiful, but you will not put her under any scrutiny either, Mother,” Ambrose said. “We came in here to expose Karissa. We have done that. Neriah is my fated mate. She is the future queen. The Moon Goddess made that decision.”“Neriah,” Helena said. “I’m sorry for the confusion. Between what I found and what was said, everything lined up to make you the cruel and harmful person in this situation. I was wrong to accuse you without hearing your side of the story.”My eyes widened. Is the queen admitting she was wrong? Is that even heard of in our realm?Fred spoke up. “I knew my queen would come to her senses. Now, I think we have been far too lenient on
Neriah POVAfter they took Karissa back to the tower, Ambrose and I talked about what happened. He confiscated her phone and found the picture. He had his techs look at it, and they showed me it was a doctored photo. The picture was real, but Ambrose’s face was layered over the real man’s face. We don’t know who he is, and honestly, I don’t care. I only care that it wasn’t Ambrose’s face. The next day, Ambrose and I went to Fred’s office. Once we stepped inside, we found Helena sitting with Fred. Her eyes were full of contempt for me. Goddess, why do all the mother figures hate me?“Father,” Ambrose greeted, as we walked in. “Mother.”“Son,” Fred said, and he looked at me. “Neriah. Please, sit, both of you.”Ambrose helped me sit first, then took a seat himself. Helena’s eyes grew colder at the gesture, but Fred nodded slightly, approving of Ambrose’s chivalry.I stayed quiet, not wanting to speak too soon. I wasn’t about to steal Ambrose’s thunder. He told me to let him show the evid
Neriah POVI woke up from my nap. I reached out for Ambrose, but he wasn’t there. The sheets were still slightly warm, so he must have left a few minutes ago. I was going to mind-link him, but I decided to freshen up in the bathroom first. I saw his shirt on the floor, and I inhaled his scent from it. I smiled and put it on.I was getting to walk into the bathroom when I heard the door open. Thinking it was Ambrose, I turned around and smiled, only for my smile to disappear as Karissa stood in the doorway. Her fists were clenched, and her jaw was tight. “You just couldn’t wait to climb in his bed, could you?” she sneered.“Why are you out of the tower?” I asked.“The queen released me. Unlike you, she can do what she pleases here,” she replied.“Why are you here?” I asked. How the hell does she know where Ambrose’s room is, too?“I am here to help Ambrose, of course,” she said, smiling. “What? Did you think he and I never slept together? How else would I know where his room is, Neriah
Ambrose POVI wore Neriah out. I wanted our bedroom to smell heavily of her. I marked her again, making her come hard. She passed out and has been sleeping for the last hour. I hold her in my arms and study every part of her body, her eyelashes, and her expressions when she sleeps.I noted that she probably doesn’t have any more medication. She is mentioning her baby in her sleep again. I’ll talk to her about that later. Or maybe I will ask Matt to talk to Genie for more medicine.‘Ames, you are not going to believe what I just found out,’ Matt said.‘Where are you?’‘In my office,’ he replied.‘I’m coming,’ I said.‘I wasn’t interrupting, was I?’ he asked, and I heard the sarcasm.‘I would not have responded if you were, asshole. I’ll be there in a few minutes,’ I said, closing the link.I quietly and carefully got up. I was careful not to disturb or wake Neriah. I wore her out, and she needs to recover, or she will argue with me that she can’t walk straight. I chuckled inside at how
