Philip pov.

I observed Lora's intense desire to be closer to that child, her longing palpable in the way her eyes yearned for connection. I knew she had informed the Alpha that she intended to discuss his wife's tragic demise, but the Lora I had come to know was never preoccupied with avoiding discussions about the deceased.

Perplexed by Lora's peculiar behavior, I paced around my room, searching for answers within the confines of my thoughts. Why was she acting so strangely? What could possibly be causing this shift in her demeanor?

Finally, I settled on my bed, casting my gaze across the room.
