Chapter 2

作者: Aurelia
Lucien stared at me, confused. "When did you say you got home?"

"Three minutes ago," I repeated, my voice empty.

He nodded, though the heat had left his eyes. He brushed a quick kiss against my cheek and told me to rest up for his surprise.

After dark, the pack territory erupted in cheers. I looked out the window to see fireworks painting the night in brilliant bursts of color.

I pulled on a white sweater, tied my blonde curls loosely, and walked out into the pack grounds. Wolves greeted me with smiles and blessings.

"Our Alpha is the handsomest male alive," one young she-wolf sighed, "and our Luna the most beautiful. A perfect match."

"If I’m reborn," another added wistfully, "I hope to be as happy as our Luna."

I managed a faint, bitter smile.

Lucien appeared at my side, kissing me deeply in front of everyone. "I love you, Gaia," he whispered against my lips. "Do you like your surprise?"

I couldn’t smile back. All I could do was stare into his deep navy-blue eyes, that achingly handsome face… Memories flashed like ghosts—running wild through fields in wolf form, the searing pain and pleasure of our bonding bite, nights of tangled sheets and whispered promises…

All of it washed away now in a tide of crimson.

My child’s blood.

Lucien had killed our child.

Just then, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I glanced down to see an email notification from the Werewolf Alliance Council:

*Your petition for forced mate dissolution has been received. It will be processed within 72 hours.*

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and then looked at Lucien calmly and resolutely—concealing all my resentment and hatred.

Seventy-two hours.

That was all the time he had left in my world.

I would never have to see this man who betrayed me again. I could leave this devil who killed my son behind forever.

A flicker of panic and curiosity passed through Lucien's eyes. He leaned in to reach for my phone, his voice laced with confusion.

"What message did you get?"

When Lucien looked at me, his eyes were filled with concern. His deep blue eyes were utterly tempting. They were as captivating as on the night we marked each other when I was eighteen. "If you keep secrets from me, I'll be angry," he said.

I smiled faintly, suppressing all the rage and loathing in my heart. I simply maintained my calm tone and replied, "And what about you, Luc? Do you have secrets from me?"

I gazed into his eyes, hoping to see at least a flicker of guilt or hesitation.

But unfortunately, there was none.

I saw not a trace of remorse in his eyes. He answered with what seemed like sincere, unwavering conviction, "Of course not, what are you thinking, my dear?"

Then Lucien kissed my forehead, my cheek… and finally, his intense kiss landed firmly on my lips. His strong pectoral muscles pressed against my body, and I could feel the restless desire stirring in his soul.

The scent of cold pine and whisky enveloped me—a fragrance I had once been so addicted to, but now, his scent only made me nauseous.

"Tonight, we’re going to have a sleepless night," Lucien’s deep, masculine voice murmured beside my ear. He gently nipped my earlobe with his sharp wolf fangs. "This is what you owe me. Don’t refuse me again."

He was still upset about my rejection that afternoon.

My stomach twisted as if it had been thrown into a washing machine. I mustered all my strength just to push him away, but he held me too tightly. His powerful silver wolf king, Clovis, seemed ready to break through the resistance in my soul, eager to devour me with its fervor.

My strength was nothing before Lucien and his formidable, one-of-a-kind silver wolf king. At no moment had I regretted anything more than I did then—that three years ago, during the energy field battle, I shouldn’t have sacrificed my own wolf to save Lucien.

Poor Selene—my powerful and sacred little white wolf—had fallen into an eternal slumber.

The members of the pack gathered around us watched our embrace and kiss with envious eyes. I could hear the excited whispers of the young women: "Honestly, the Alpha is just too handsome!"

"If I could have him kiss me—even for just one second—I’d willingly offer up my soul."

The sky was ablaze with dazzling fireworks. I closed my eyes, not in rapture, but to suppress the urge to vomit.

Finally, the kiss, which felt like a prolonged execution, ended. Lucien released me, gazing tenderly into my eyes as he asked softly, "You still haven’t told me who sent you that email earlier?"

I turned away, covering my mouth tightly with my hand. I took a few deep, difficult breaths to force down the nausea completely. But I decided I would go brush my teeth later—at least three times.

Lucien’s voice took on a displeased edge. He grabbed my shoulders, his dark blue eyes flashing a hint of warning, though his tone remained low. "Who’s filing for a forced divorce? I thought I saw that word on your phone just now."

  • Luna's Resolve, Alpha's Eternal Regret   Chapter 9

"In the days to come, you will be blissfully happy—I am certain of it, Gaia."Helena's words were so firm. I was sure an ancient Grand Sorceress never lied. But was my heart truly ready for new love? I wasn't sure.I only knew that my career was the most important thing to me at that moment. So, I soon arranged a meeting with one of the nation's most revered medical research doctors.Three days later, as I sat at the head of the conference table during a seminar focused on my work, I overheard the hushed whispers of several doctors. "That Alpha from the Gilded Moon is quite lucky. Just as he lost his wolf due to the heavy blows to his career and love life, a life-saving potion emerges."Lucien had lost his wolf? How did that happen?During a break, I listened more carefully. From their conversation, I learned that Lucien's betrayal of me had caused his wolf, Clovis, great dissatisfaction. Clovis had voluntarily withdrawn his powerful wolf essence, falling into a permanent slumber.A fe

By then, I had already followed Helena to the deepest reaches of the Blood Moon Forest. Everything here related to ancient, mystical sorcery fascinated me. I threw myself into my research almost immediately. All that I had experienced in the Gilded Moon Pack felt like a dream from a past life, utterly disconnected from who I was in this present moment. After nearly a month of secluded study, I stumbled upon an ancient healing method that could be immensely beneficial. It promised not only to restore my wolf but also to grant me the ability to conceive again.I was overjoyed. I quickly dedicated myself to focused research on this technique. It's important to know that countless werewolves lose their wolves to accidents every year, condemned to live in perpetual agony—like cancer patients, fading helplessly toward death. But if I could perfect this formula, I could save them. And, of course, myself.Another month passed. When I finally emerged from my seclusion, I had successfully develo

Lucien picked up the miscarriage papers, staring at the words in utter disbelief. In that moment, he finally understood everything. So, while he and Irina were lost in their passion, I was lying alone on a cold operating table, allowing cold instruments to enter my weakened body, removing our child. It was our only child, possibly the only pup I could ever have in this lifetime. But he had killed it. He hadn't even seen its face.Lucien completely broke down. He collapsed onto the floor, clutching the papers tightly in his hand, his eyes turning crimson. The guests had all returned to the banquet hall, and only a few of Lucien's close friends remained in the room when Irina finally dared to approach. She linked her arm with his and sat beside him. "What outrageous thing has Luna said now? You mustn't take it to heart. I'm sure she didn't mean it..."As she spoke, her gaze fell upon the miscarriage papers. In an instant, her words froze. All the clever, varied ways she usually had to sl

At the bonding anniversary celebration, Lucien stood on the ceremonial platform, about to invite me personally in front of all the guests, when he was suddenly seized by a violent pain in his heart. Our mate bond severed at that very moment.Lucien collapsed to his knees on the floor in agony, veins bulging on his forehead, cold sweat streaming down. Just then, he received the divorce notification email from the Werewolf Alliance Council.Lucien stared at his phone, his gaze deadly, and in that moment, he finally understood what I had been hiding from him these past few days.He abandoned all the guests and rushed desperately toward my room, wanting to mend things with me. But upon throwing the door open, he found the room empty and devoid of my presence; I was long gone.Just then, Irina approached. She wore a haute couture evening gown unbefitting her status, and the shallow mark of their mutual claiming still lingered on the nape of her neck—but the mark was faint. She was not Luci

"Gaia, are you alright? I was looking for you all last night, but you had locked your door," Lucien asked softly from outside.I did not answer him. At that moment, I only wanted to leave.Lucien paused at the door for a moment, then asked with concern, "Are you angry with me? Because I didn't come back to you immediately after seeing Irina to her room?"He still thought me a fool.Because after I lost my wolf, all my sensory abilities—my sight, hearing, and smell—had degraded, just like an ordinary human's. He believed I couldn't hear anything from the second floor, any sounds of them making love.I covered my face with my hands, rubbing my eyes, wiping away the last trace of tears. My Mate, Lucien, had died the very second we marked each other. The person standing outside my door now, I did not know him.He was not worth my tears.I went to the bathroom and washed my face, making myself appear calm and composed.Lucien was still waiting outside. He apologized sincerely, "I promised y

  • Luna's Resolve, Alpha's Eternal Regret   Chapter 4

Even though I told myself countless times that in less than seventy-two hours, I would be free, my heart still couldn't find complete peace. I tossed and turned in bed until, at one in the morning, I could bear it no longer. I threw off the covers, got up, and quietly made my way downstairs.I had no intention of interrupting their lovemaking—confronting them like a jealous wife wasn't my style. So, I just went to the kitchen, as quietly as possible, and poured myself a glass of water. It was then I noticed that all the servants in the Alpha's villa still hadn't returned—it seemed Lucien had ordered them to take time off.In the deep silence of the night, a high-pitched moan came from the maid's room not far from the kitchen. "Oh… Alpha, more… please…"Immediately, her mouth was muffled, all sound choked back into her desire-thickened throat.Lucien's voice grew low and dangerous. "I warned you, be quiet.""If you dare let Gaia know about us, I'll kill you."What Irina said or did next
