Chapter 3

作者: Aurelia
My heart clenched. I knew I couldn’t reveal anything to him then. Otherwise, given his influence within the Werewolf Alliance Council, he could easily intercept my forced divorce petition.

"It’s nothing, just a friend," I said, placing my warm, soft palm on his forearm, my tone earnest. "Her Mate betrayed her, so she’s decided to take action. Luc, if you ever betray me one day, I’ll do the same."

Lucien was momentarily stunned. But clearly, the warmth of my palm made him overlook the implications of my words. It also made him ignore the threat carried by that term.

Besides, he was a suspicious ruler, and I was sure he quickly grasped a crucial point of logic—if I truly suspected his betrayal, I wouldn’t openly discuss it with him; I would proceed in secret.

I saw him relax slightly, but soon, his brow furrowed with displeasure. "I’ve told you before, don’t spend too much time with those so-called pioneering she-wolves. They’re always too radical in their actions."

He seemed to have forgotten that before we married, I was originally a progressive, independent woman.

But then, I just nodded and didn’t argue with him about it.

Seventy-two hours. In just seventy-two hours, I could end all of that.

He would suffer the pain of a severed mate bond in shock, forever losing his Mate.

And none of it would be my concern anymore.

The fireworks faded, and silence returned over the pack grounds. The sulfur scent lingering in the air made me intensely uncomfortable. Ignoring everyone’s well-wishes, I turned and headed back toward my room.

Lucien wanted to follow me to my bedroom, anticipating our night together. "Same requirement as before—you’ll use the massage plate against your clitoris. It’s something new. We need some passion, Gaia."

I didn’t understand why, when he had already found passion with Irina, he remained so fixated on doing the same with me. I had no intention of indulging the twisted whims born from his position at the peak of power and wealth. I simply quickened my pace up the stairs.

Just then, Irina suddenly emerged from around the corner, carrying a dessert tray. Her steps were hurried, as if rushing to a feast—and I was the door she had to push open.

"Oh!" Within seconds, she collided with me. Then, her Mary Jane shoe caught on the hem of her maid’s dress, and the sudden force yanked the dress down. As she stumbled toward Lucien, I saw the seductive lingerie and her full breasts beneath the torn white apron.

"I’m sorry, Alpha. I’m sorry, Luna. I shouldn’t have been so careless." Irina frantically tried to adjust her clothes, but her ankle seemed injured. She couldn’t steady herself and fell backward toward me.

I stood midway up the stairs, watching Irina’s performance, my eyebrow slightly raised—I was surprised she didn’t throw herself toward Lucien again.

But Lucien’s actions soon gave me the answer.

Lucien instinctively stepped forward to catch her. "Careful," he said. I saw their gazes meet, deep and meaningful.

"You’ve hurt your foot. I’ll have someone escort you back to your room," Lucien said a few seconds later, steadying her with a tone that was distant yet carried the benevolent authority of an Alpha.

Irina’s voice was weak and alluring. "But… everyone has gone to prepare for tomorrow’s banquet. I’m the only maid left in the villa… It’s alright, Alpha. I can make it back to my room on my own."

She crouched down, trying to pick up the tray she had dropped on the floor, her ample breasts in red lace lingerie exposed once more.

Lucien’s expression visibly wavered.

He looked at me, his lips parting slightly, but ultimately made his choice.

"Gaia," he said kindly, apologetically, "It seems, then, that I should be the one to help Irina back to her room? You know, she’s like family, having served us for so many years."

"Of course," I replied with a smile. "That’s only right."

I thought my heart could no longer feel pain, but in that moment, I could still feel it bleeding.

That crimson blood seemed to spread like a river, flowing down from the stairs where I stood, spreading across the floor of the first level—like a stream leading straight to the Omega maid’s quarters in the northwest corner of the first floor, where Irina stayed.

Lucien, supporting Irina, walked upon it.

In three days, I swore, it would swallow him whole.

  • Luna's Resolve, Alpha's Eternal Regret   Chapter 9

"In the days to come, you will be blissfully happy—I am certain of it, Gaia."Helena's words were so firm. I was sure an ancient Grand Sorceress never lied. But was my heart truly ready for new love? I wasn't sure.I only knew that my career was the most important thing to me at that moment. So, I soon arranged a meeting with one of the nation's most revered medical research doctors.Three days later, as I sat at the head of the conference table during a seminar focused on my work, I overheard the hushed whispers of several doctors. "That Alpha from the Gilded Moon is quite lucky. Just as he lost his wolf due to the heavy blows to his career and love life, a life-saving potion emerges."Lucien had lost his wolf? How did that happen?During a break, I listened more carefully. From their conversation, I learned that Lucien's betrayal of me had caused his wolf, Clovis, great dissatisfaction. Clovis had voluntarily withdrawn his powerful wolf essence, falling into a permanent slumber.A fe

By then, I had already followed Helena to the deepest reaches of the Blood Moon Forest. Everything here related to ancient, mystical sorcery fascinated me. I threw myself into my research almost immediately. All that I had experienced in the Gilded Moon Pack felt like a dream from a past life, utterly disconnected from who I was in this present moment. After nearly a month of secluded study, I stumbled upon an ancient healing method that could be immensely beneficial. It promised not only to restore my wolf but also to grant me the ability to conceive again.I was overjoyed. I quickly dedicated myself to focused research on this technique. It's important to know that countless werewolves lose their wolves to accidents every year, condemned to live in perpetual agony—like cancer patients, fading helplessly toward death. But if I could perfect this formula, I could save them. And, of course, myself.Another month passed. When I finally emerged from my seclusion, I had successfully develo

Lucien picked up the miscarriage papers, staring at the words in utter disbelief. In that moment, he finally understood everything. So, while he and Irina were lost in their passion, I was lying alone on a cold operating table, allowing cold instruments to enter my weakened body, removing our child. It was our only child, possibly the only pup I could ever have in this lifetime. But he had killed it. He hadn't even seen its face.Lucien completely broke down. He collapsed onto the floor, clutching the papers tightly in his hand, his eyes turning crimson. The guests had all returned to the banquet hall, and only a few of Lucien's close friends remained in the room when Irina finally dared to approach. She linked her arm with his and sat beside him. "What outrageous thing has Luna said now? You mustn't take it to heart. I'm sure she didn't mean it..."As she spoke, her gaze fell upon the miscarriage papers. In an instant, her words froze. All the clever, varied ways she usually had to sl

At the bonding anniversary celebration, Lucien stood on the ceremonial platform, about to invite me personally in front of all the guests, when he was suddenly seized by a violent pain in his heart. Our mate bond severed at that very moment.Lucien collapsed to his knees on the floor in agony, veins bulging on his forehead, cold sweat streaming down. Just then, he received the divorce notification email from the Werewolf Alliance Council.Lucien stared at his phone, his gaze deadly, and in that moment, he finally understood what I had been hiding from him these past few days.He abandoned all the guests and rushed desperately toward my room, wanting to mend things with me. But upon throwing the door open, he found the room empty and devoid of my presence; I was long gone.Just then, Irina approached. She wore a haute couture evening gown unbefitting her status, and the shallow mark of their mutual claiming still lingered on the nape of her neck—but the mark was faint. She was not Luci

"Gaia, are you alright? I was looking for you all last night, but you had locked your door," Lucien asked softly from outside.I did not answer him. At that moment, I only wanted to leave.Lucien paused at the door for a moment, then asked with concern, "Are you angry with me? Because I didn't come back to you immediately after seeing Irina to her room?"He still thought me a fool.Because after I lost my wolf, all my sensory abilities—my sight, hearing, and smell—had degraded, just like an ordinary human's. He believed I couldn't hear anything from the second floor, any sounds of them making love.I covered my face with my hands, rubbing my eyes, wiping away the last trace of tears. My Mate, Lucien, had died the very second we marked each other. The person standing outside my door now, I did not know him.He was not worth my tears.I went to the bathroom and washed my face, making myself appear calm and composed.Lucien was still waiting outside. He apologized sincerely, "I promised y

  • Luna's Resolve, Alpha's Eternal Regret   Chapter 4

Even though I told myself countless times that in less than seventy-two hours, I would be free, my heart still couldn't find complete peace. I tossed and turned in bed until, at one in the morning, I could bear it no longer. I threw off the covers, got up, and quietly made my way downstairs.I had no intention of interrupting their lovemaking—confronting them like a jealous wife wasn't my style. So, I just went to the kitchen, as quietly as possible, and poured myself a glass of water. It was then I noticed that all the servants in the Alpha's villa still hadn't returned—it seemed Lucien had ordered them to take time off.In the deep silence of the night, a high-pitched moan came from the maid's room not far from the kitchen. "Oh… Alpha, more… please…"Immediately, her mouth was muffled, all sound choked back into her desire-thickened throat.Lucien's voice grew low and dangerous. "I warned you, be quiet.""If you dare let Gaia know about us, I'll kill you."What Irina said or did next
