West POV
Every waking day, I wake with a desire to burn the Crescent pack to the ground, but one thing my late father always taught me is that, patience is a virtue, I've experienced a different level of emotions for a year now, and nothing beats the revenge I've been longing for, the burning desire to hold those that killed my family and ditched out the exact cruelty meted at my pack and my family.
“Rio!!!”
“Yes Alpha” my brother answered from within the den
“Come out here”
He rushed out as swift as possible.
“Where were you last night when I was helping the new shifters?” I asked him with a venomous tone.
“Urhmm… I was right th…”
“Think twice before you lie to me, I know everything going on within the pack and at the pack borders,” I cautioned him.
“I'm sorry Alpha… I took a stroll in the opposite direction” he said with his head bowed.
“Hmmm, did you encounter any werewolf that's not from our pack?”
“No.. no, I didn't go far ahead, after a while of going into the forest, I had to come back, I was scared of getting lost.”
“I suggest you stop lying to me Rio” I raised my voice at him.
“Alpha, alpha, your presence is urgently needed in the lair” my Beta said to me through the mind link.
“I'm coming,” I quickly responded.
“You're to remain inside my den for the time being, until I pass across another instruction,” I said to Rio just as I got up and started heading to the lair.
After a while, I turned and looked at Rio, who's my only family member that's left after my father and daughter was killed. Rio is a fast bloomer and he shifted for the first time at age 16, a year before the Crescent pack attacked.
Walking as fast as I can, i quickly got to the lair, where the secret planning have been going on between my most trusted squads in the pack.
Left to me, I'd have attacked them on my own, but my beta outrightly refused, saying it's his duty to protect me.
“What's going on?” I asked immediately I entered the lair.
“You need to here this, Alpha” my Beta called out to me. The beta have been in that position since my father was Alpha, Beta Sage is fit and capable of being the Alpha when my father stepped down due to ill health, but he choose to retain his position and allow me take over, but the Omega of the pack planned on challenging me, and I killed him off in a duel.
Looking at the faces in the lair, I noticed the spies that we planted at the Crescent pack were present, together with my childhood friends, Liam and Willow.
“Tell the Alpha what you just told us here” Beta Sage said to one of the spies.
Looking at them without a hint of a smile on my face, he seemed scared to say it, I glared a bit harder.
“Alpha… the crescent pack now have a new beta and I've discovered who initiated the attack on our pack” he said.
“Who?” I said my interest being piqued.
“The former Beta, he came here with their Alpha but was able to escape together with some other of their members, he has a daughter, but they…”
“I don't care about what or who he has, I'm taking it all from him.” I said addressing my squad that are here with me.
“By the next lunar eclipse, we would attack, and the main purpose for that attack would be to get the former Beta and his family, we are not to try and fight or wage war with the other pack members, do I make myself clear.” I said.
“Yes Alpha” they all chorused.
“Alpha, can I see you for a minute?” Sage called out.
I quickly dismissed the others and instructed the spies to return to their post.
“What's the matter?” I said turning to address Sage.
“Don't you think you are being too hasty? Can't we still strategize for a while before we take action?” He asked.
“Why do we need to strategize to capture a family? Why?”
“So we don't make mistake”
“What mistake can we possibly make?” I asked already getting frustrated.
“We have a whole full month to plan for this and we are going as I've announced, so get some men ready” I told him.
“And mind you, I don't intend coming back here without capturing the so called Beta, either dead or alive, I want him here” I growled.
“Ok Alpha”
Beta Sage might be in the same age with my father, but his respect for me never dwindle, as loyal as they can get.
“You can leave,” I said turning away from him, being left alone is what I desire since the incident, I miss my baby girl so dearly, she reminded me of my late wife, now there's nothing left to remind me of her, the rage in my body doubled, I can't stop thinking about how I'd make them suffer, someone must pay for the death of my daughter and I will surely draw blood, at the very least, the whole pack will pay for the action of their Alpha, but the death of Beta Tim would have to suffice for now.
After a long while, I decided to go back to my den or preferably take a run, so that I can clear my mind. Immediately I stepped out of the den, I saw Willow, my Beta daughter and my childhood friend waiting for me outside.
“Why are you still here?”
“West, how are you? Are you okay? You don't look fine at all”
“I'm fine Willow, why are you here?”
“I was worried about you, honestly, we've barely had time to talk since the death of…”
I cut her a sharp glare which silenced her immediately, knowing she intend talking about Kaida,
“I'm not in the mood for this type of conversation” I said shutting her up.
“Head back to your place, I'm off for a run” I said.
Taking off my clothes as fast as possible, I shifted to my wolf form and took off into the woods.
I ran and ran till I'm out of breath, I know where I'm headed, I'm not supposed to be here, but I'm still here though, I stopped by the border that's deep in the forest and looked at the otherside of the forest where my enemies lie within, I really can't wait until I tear them all apart.
They are not deserving of my mercy and I shall not spare them all.
The days flew by and it was finally the full moon and it's time to go after the man that anchored the attack of my people. I can't help but to feel elated because judgement would finally be met upon them.
After making sure that my newly appointed Omega follow the new shifters and situate them in the opposite direction from where we are going, I gave instructions to my squad
“It's simple, kill anyone in our path and capture the Beta and his daughter and possibly whoever is in his den, do I make myself clear?” I said, looking them all in the eyes.
“Yes Alpha” they bellowed.
We shifted and grabbed our clothes with our mouth, then ran into the forest, we passed the border were I spend most of my nights at and crept into the crescent pack, we then changed to our human form, silently we moved to the den of the former Beta,
Immediately we entered, I had a sound up the stairs, I ordered Liam and Willow to remain outside, I entered with Sage and walked into the room where the Beta was together with a younger girl. He was lost in his thrust and from what I've heard, I know this is not his wife.
“Get up!” I bellowed.
Immediately they both disentangled and she quickly covered up.
“Sage capture them, you guys can go, I will go and look through the house, I'll meet you at the pack” ignoring the whimper and pleas from them, I stepped out of the bedroom.
The door down the hallway, I hastely walked towards it, immediately I opened it, I was hit by a smell that was so strong, I immediately recognised it, my wolf screamed within me “Mate!”
I chose to ignore it, walked into the room but my knees grew weak, the smell was so strong and I cannot keep on ignoring it, I picked up a gown that was left on the bed, put it in my nose and inhaled deeply.
Immediately, the door opened, I turned back and looked at the girl that just walked in, my wolf growled “mine!” I couldn't help but agree, she was stunning, just a bit disheveled, immediately I perceived a different odour
“Why do you smell like mine and at the same time smell like you've been with another man?” I barked out, anger covering my features.
West POV Months had drifted by since my return from the trip, and they'd been filled with peace, relaxation, and a quiet sense of normalcy we'd longed for in the pack. Verdicts had been passed – Willow had been banished from the pack, and Sage had made the decision to go with her. Knowing Sage's unwavering faithfulness and loyalty to me and the pack despite everything Willow had done, I couldn't let him leave without ensuring he was taken care of. So, I'd made him the Alpha over the Crescent pack. Now, Sage and Willow were there, building a new chapter of their lives. All my hope lies in the fact that I hope Willow can make a life for herself.Ragnar refuses to become my Beta, because he still wants to have control over his men, they seem more like a family to him than just warriors.Liam assumed Sage’s position, becoming the pack Beta and I feel I have made the best decision ever. Before Sage's departure, Aria and I had decided to perform our marital rite, a ceremony to solidify our
Aria's POV I dialed West's number that night, my heart racing with anticipation as the phone rang. And then, on the very first ring, he picked up. It was as though he'd been waiting for my call, poised to answer the moment it came in. "West?" I called out to him, my voice a mix of longing and vulnerability. Even with the far distance between us, I could sense the weight of his emotions through our bond. "Hmm," he responded, his low hum sending a pang through my heart. "I called you because I miss you terribly," I told him plainly, bypassing any need to beat around the bush. I needed to be honest about how I felt. West was quiet for a long time, the only sound was his deep breathing over the line. In my mind, I thought, "Oh my man, stop fighting it.""Aria," he called out to me, and oh, how I'd missed hearing my name from his mouth. The way he said it sent a shiver down my spine. "I've also missed you," he told me. "I'm doing well. You don't have to worry yourself." I started nodding
Aria's POV It's been a mere two weeks since West set out on a journey, leaving me behind in the pack's midst. Initially, I'd thought I'd manage just fine without him, coping with the void of his absence by throwing myself into pack activities. I'd been advising the pack members, involving myself deeply in their lives, trying to fill the space left by West's physical distance. But despite my busyness, I couldn't shake off the nagging thoughts about my mate, about what West wanted from me, from us. The night after Beatrice's wedding lingered in my mind like a vivid memory. As we were getting ready for bed, I'd decided to join West in the bathroom, seeking a moment of closeness, of connection. But the instant I entered, he hastily wrapped up whatever he was doing and headed straight to bed. I followed him onto the bed, trying to initiate touch, to bridge the chasm of distance he'd been placing between us. Yet the coldness he exuded was palpable, even scary in its intensity."West?" I ca
Beatrice POV Months had drifted by, and our pack had finally found a pocket of calm and tranquility we'd longed for. Laurel, my precious daughter, was growing into a strong and feisty little thing, a true reflection of her father's spirit. Meanwhile, the Alpha was preparing for a journey, a trip into the human world to check on business that had been suffering in his absence. It was high time he went to assess things himself.Aria, my dear friend, and sister, preoccupies herself with affairs of the pack, mostly giving advice to the pack members and interceding in conflicts. But today wasn't about any of those things. Today was a special day, a day for me. I was finally performing my marriage rite with my one true love, Ragnar. He wasn't one for fussing over traditions like marriage rituals, but I cared deeply about it. I wanted to be tied to him through the marital ritual, to make our bond official in a way that felt meaningful to me. The occasion was set for today so the Alpha could
West POV I led the small but formidable group of warriors, with Aria by my side, as we made our way to the Darkhood pack's territory under the cover of night. The darkness seemed to amplify our senses, making us more attuned to every sound, every movement in the shadows. Our intent was clear – to confront the remnants of the leaders of the Darkhood pack, to put an end to their aggression toward us. The air was tense with anticipation as we moved stealthily, our senses heightened for any sign of danger.Upon arriving at Darkhood's territory, we found fewer guards than expected, as if they'd pulled back most of their forces after the earlier battle. We moved through their lands with caution, tracking down the Alpha and some of those who'd led the attack against us. The confrontation was intense but brief – the remnants of Darkhood's leadership were not prepared for our sudden appearance. We dealt with them swiftly, ensuring they understood our pack's strength and would not soon forget
West POV I stood at the forefront of our warriors, the field before us a cauldron of chaos as the attackers from Darkhood pack and some of Crescent pack charged toward us. The air was thick with tension, the scent of damp earth and adrenaline mingling in my nostrils. My eyes scanned the oncoming threat, a mix of werewolves from Darkhood, their allies from Crescent pack, and I knew fairies were also in their midst, adding a dangerous edge to the battle.Nathan's voice was a low whisper beside me, "I'll be with you guys and magically tackle the fairies today." I nodded at him in appreciation, a surge of gratitude toward him and Emily for their aid. Their hands moved fast and smoothly, like dancers in a deadly ballet, possibly weaving away the magic that could assess me and my warriors. I was so grateful to them for that, their contribution was a silent but potent force in our favor. It was barely an hour into the intense battle when I sensed my mate's presence. Aria slipped into the fi
