Luca’s POV

The lab smelled like sickness. Like rot and sweat and something else, something worse, something that made my stomach turn.

Three wolves. Lined up. Barely breathing.

Fuck.

Elijah stood near the back, arms crossed, face blank.

I stepped forward, fists tight, breath slow. The first wolf—he was barely upright, his skin pale and clammy, his chest rising in these shallow, wet gasps like his lungs were drowning. The second twitched every few seconds, his body fighting against something it couldn’t win. The third—shit—the third wasn’t even moving.

Too late.

I clenched my jaw. “Are they stable?” My voice came out rougher than I meant it to.

Elijah didn’t blink. “For now. But not for long.”

I exhaled hard through my nose. No more waiting. No more thinking.

The vial felt heavy in my hand.

Dark liquid. Thick. Almost pulsing under the light.

This had to work.

I dropped to my knees in front of the first wolf. His eyelids fluttered open. Not all the way. Not enough to see me.

  • Luna’s Second Chance    ~Chapter 77~

Aria's POV I knocked before I could second-guess myself. My hand lingered near the doorframe, heart pounding harder than it should have. He opened the door almost immediately. Luca looked tired—drawn in a way that had nothing to do with sleep and everything to do with the weight he carried. His shirt was slightly rumpled, his jaw tight. But his eyes... they softened when they landed on me.“Can I come in?” I asked. He nodded and stepped aside. The warmth of the room hit me as I stepped past him, but it was his presence I noticed most. Always him. Always pulling me in like gravity.I scanned his space, not because I was curious, but because I needed the pause. The silence. A moment to catch my breath before I said what I came to say.“I heard about Elidor,” I said softly, turning halfway toward him. “You’re sending warriors?”He joined me, his arm brushing mine. “Victor’s planning to strike it. Elena told us. Said Julian gave up the information while in the cells.”Julian.That name s

Luca’s POV The cold morning air stung as I stepped outside, the sun still crawling over the horizon. Warriors were already gathering in the courtyard—rows of them, all set and ready. Elijah stood a few paces ahead, barking orders with precision. “No less than twenty in each unit! I want eyes in the trees and on the ridge! Elidor is to be fortified like it’s the heart of this pack!”I joined him, my presence pulling a few more heads to attention. These warriors… they looked at me differently now. After the challenge, after Aria’s return, after the truth about Julian unraveled, I wasn’t just their Alpha in name—I was something more. And that weight settled on my shoulders as I moved among them.“Elidor is not just a village,” I said loudly, addressing the soldiers gathered in the square. “It’s our front line. If Victor takes it, he won’t stop there. He’ll keep pushing, keep clawing his way toward us. Toward our homes. Our families.”A murmur of agreement swept through the crowd, low

Victor's POVThe room was silent as ever. I sat on the edge of my chair, fists clenched so tight my knuckles turned white. Every inch of me simmered—not just with rage, but something worse, disappointed. Not in the fools I'd sent to capture her. No. In myself.I let her go.I replayed it all in my mind like a sick loop. The moment she slipped through our grasp. The shift in her eyes when she saw the opportunity to run. That fire in her—it had always burned just out of my reach. And now, she was gone again. Back in his arms. Back with Luca.I slammed my fist against the arm of the chair, the sound echoing through the chamber like a gunshot. “She should’ve been mine by now,” I muttered, more to myself than anyone else. “This was the perfect opening. Chaos. Confusion. She was isolated. Vulnerable. And still…”I stood, pacing in front of the fire like a caged wolf, my thoughts spiraling. She wasn’t just any female. She was meant to be my Luna. My equal. The one who would elevate me to

I stepped inside my room carefully. My chest tightened as I stepped in.“You kept it like this,” I murmured.“Of course I did,” Luca said from behind me, voice low. “You were always coming back. I never believed anything else.”I turned toward him. “Luca… there’s something I need to tell you.”He moved to me without hesitation, stepping into my room. “What is it?”I hesitated, trying to gather my words. “Victor…” I started, swallowing hard. “He’s not finished. I saw it in his eyes before I ran. He’s angry—more than angry. He’s coming.”Luca’s jaw clenched, but he remained silent, listening.“He wants to take me,” I continued, voice hoarse. “He said I’m the only way he can secure control over everything. That if he marks me, the pack will follow. That I was meant to be his.”His hands curled into fists at his sides. He rose slowly, like a tide about to break through the shore.“He threatened to mark you?” he said, his voice calm—but beneath that calm was a fury sharp enough to kill.

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 73

Luca’s POVThe moment I saw her—alive, bloodied but standing—the weight crushing my chest cracked.Aria. She made it out.Every breath she took gave mine meaning. Every flicker of her white wolf reminded me what I was fighting for.Julian's fist came flying again—but this time, I didn’t flinch.I ducked low, shoulder ramming into his ribs. He grunted, stumbling. I followed it with a hard right hook across his jaw. Bone cracked. He staggered.“You lost your chance,” I growled, spitting blood. “You should’ve finished me when I was broken.”He snarled, fury blazing in his eyes. “You’re still broken.”“No.” I stood tall, fists clenched, heart blazing. “I was broken the moment you threatened her. But now?”I took a step forward.“I’m something else.”Julian charged with a roar, claws swiping—but I moved faster. I wasn’t holding back anymore. I wasn’t weighed down by fear or guilt or the noose of that curse. She was alive.I could fight.I would win.I caught his wrist mid-swing, and then t

  • Luna’s Second Chance    Chapter 72

Aria’s POVThat’s when Ryker, our strongest warrior, beside Elijah staggered to us, bloodied. “Elijah,” he growled, clutching his side. “Take her and run .”“No,” Elijah snapped, still panting. “I’m not—”“You have to!” Ryker bellowed, grabbing Elijah by the front of his shirt. “Look around! They’re dying, Elijah! We’re dying!”Another scream tore through the battlefield. A member of our team went down—impaled through the chest by a spear.“We can’t hold this!” Ryker continued, voice breaking. “But if she dies here, if the White Wolf dies, then we died for nothing.”My heart clenched.“Elijah, please,” Ryker’s eyes softened, blood running down his face, mixing with tears. “Save her. Let our deaths mean something.”Elijah’s jaw clenched. His fists shook.“I’ll hold Victor off,” Ryker said, backing away, dragging a sword from a fallen warrior’s corpse. “I’ll give you time.”“No—” Elijah stepped forward.“GO!” Ryker roared, turning from us. “GO!!!”And then—he shifted. A massive brown w
